oil vapours will never clog the engine up. They will get burnt off by the engine in a fraction of a second. I'd be tempted to reroute back into the cam cover tbh. Helps keep the emissions down.

For the electric window and central locking control module, it's behind the offside rear doorcard IIRC.

 No Thomas, I think the second that you hit a little lip in the road that thing is gonna buckle and wrap itself around your front wheel really nicely :D -

HELP !! Metal coolant pipe advice urgently needed 2.0 16v '95 !!
boost monkey replied to scott1980's topic in Engine Bay
Part number 037121065L is for ADY engine, so I'm guessing 2.0 8v? Part number you want is : 051121065C Water pipe / 9A :salute: I would order that one ^^^ and nothing else, as the 8v and 16v are different (as you have found out!) Yeah 3Cm you're right. No water is fine, 100% water is not! -
I'd like to find out how much ally hubs would be - the reduction in unsprung mass would be huge!

Aha. Great info Yan. And coullstar, would tensioner wear at 90k be due to oil starvation or something?

your post gives me a headache. Have you not heard of full stops and starting a new sentence? -
@CriticalMass, I don't think a valver would average 27mpg as a daily somehow!

Yes master *continues to sweep*

a hard 1st to 2nd change is normally syncromesh inside the box. Marshall's clicking sounds like linkages though. A synco going is normally shown up by difficulty selecting gear including some grinding. Deffo worth checking other things before splitting the box though!

Why did they use chains on the VR anyways, our "lower model" engines just have a cambelt like the other trillion cars on the planet.

looks just like a lighter DBP to me. Pah! As if you ignored those Tom. Your Mk2 VR will look like this before long: *waits for his username to become Knob Me Sooty. Again*

The guys on http://www.anyvan.com get my vote. It's just a bunch of different people "bidding" for your job basically. You choose on price and time scale. Pretty goosd idea really.

The Monkey's Daily - Mk2 Golf GTi 8v [straight through MOT]
boost monkey replied to boost monkey's topic in Members Gallery
Yeah I like mk2s as dailies, but then I haven't done this many commuting miles (50 a day) for a long time. You quickly find out what parts need doing! I agree 100% about money pit #3. It's too easy to put later brakes etc on it, and get the panels so that it looks nice again. I'm not bothered with bodywork as long as it's not really bad. I may do the tailgate before it goes I'm not sure. I'm not planning on letting it go for a bit if I can possibly help it. The twisty roads and roundabout strewn dual carriageways between Oxford and Northants are great fun :D ---------- Post added at 02:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:58 PM ---------- Bought the new blue temp sensor now - few p under £20 from VW with the O-ring. Tempted to fit tonight before doing 25 miles home. Also ordered the Knock Sensor bolt so will fit that this weekend. It may not need to be done, but it's reassuring to know that the sensors are new (and genuine) and will probs help in the future if I have to sell. -
Same, struggling to get round to it. Not that I have a house or a Poly GB!

The Monkey's Daily - Mk2 Golf GTi 8v [straight through MOT]

Great news buddy :D having a daily you enjoy driving is so important IMO. I'm worried the golf will be going soon and we'll get a tdi of some ilk, so hoping whatever daily I end up in is fun :D Great, thanks david. I know there is a KS with a blue connector and a green one - wiring is approx 200mm longer too. I know the golf has the blue as it's obvious behind the radiator fan where it connects into the main harness. Could the 2E have the longer KS with a green connector? -
Jay have you gotten any further with your idea? I haven't done any more on this as my CAD package at home has expired and we don't even have broadband for me to renew it :/

Ah you absolute legend!! I now see where my 15 and 20 number confusion comes from! :bonk: thanks davidwort ---------- Post added at 09:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:40 AM ---------- David, how is your 2.0 8v Corrado? I'm actually really enjoying the 8v engine characteristics and wouldn't be surprised if i'm back in a 2.0 8v Corrado at some point. I don't know why they are so unwanted - just because it's the basic Corrado version?
