  1. Ditto Toad! Speechless on the pictures mate. Excellent work.
  2. The (international) search is your friend guys! A pretty comprehensive weight saving list has been up on the 'tex since 2007. It's in lbs, but it's not hard to convert it over... (2.2lbs to 1kg ish?) Link for lazies
  3. This thread is all possible variations of WRONG!
  4. I thought you got rid of the rado and bought the bimmer.... Confusion...
  5. The Almighty has spoken... gonna stop now, else I'll get known as a kiss-árse.
  6. btw, my beam is really tight on the brackets too so there's no problem there. I jacked mine into position either side, and then used a bar to "pry" it down vertically if it went too high, worked quite well. I still haven't preloaded mine though, it's just sat with the bolts through and hanging from the suspension at the other end. I must pretension it up soon.
  7. Steve, your discs will be 5stud won't they? Probably not much use to the fella.
  8. flipping heck, you VR owners have no staying power!
  9. Good plan. Let's begin the mod summoning ceremony...
  10. Bentley covers all engines - VR6, G60 and the US spec 8v/16v with CIS-E (cissy) fuel injection system. AFAIK, the torques should be the same...? The stuff I posted up originally was Mk2 Golf haynes... I will actually NEVER remember that the C has a different clutch system. Ever. I even sold James a "corrado" flywheel which was from a mk2 golf! What a legend.
  11. Pete, lovely motor mate! No doubt you'll find an awesome project car sometime in the interim! What are you doing with your old shell? Are you gonna (scrap) it when all the parts are sold?
  12. Ahem.... just to confirm... scanned from Corrado Bentley:
  13. Oh yeah, Mk2 haynes doesn't help here does it  stupid reverse order flywheels.
  14. my sunroof always does that. I mean, when the car is moving.
  15. The flywheel bolts are 20NM or 15lbft, hardly anything. You MUST make sure you do them all up at the same pace though. For example, go round doing a half turn on each, and you must do the bolt opposite the one you just tightened so you keep jumping across the circle if that makes sense. Obviously when you have done one bolt and it's opposite then you move to a neighbouring bolt until all 6 are torqued up.
  16. so we pretty much have the best car ever
  17. Cheers Tom  I may give that a whirl.
  18. I've done this recently, I have pictures and narrative on my build thread. You may not get a better explanation this side of a manual!
  19. wow, sounds like you might even be doing a whole resto on the hedge wedge!
