  1.  God, I'm glad I didn't get that far! Sounds like a load of b0llocks! I got to the slow-motion drift, after losing a year of my life, across the flourescent tubes and just thought "what a n0bend" and turned it off. First video ws way way way way x56506805865060458 better than this one :pukeright:
  2. I'd be interested to see the specs of the suspension geometry at the back. Those dampers look perfectly vertical, although the pics aren't very clear.
  3. I would ditto the noise. Apart from that, there's not much in it
  4. Inspiration: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4313838 :salute:
  5. I still haven't finished Forza 1. Original XBOX ftw.
  6. Was behind one yesterday and I thought it was really nice. I'd have one. @Danny B, do you ride men often?
  7. Flippin heck, ANOTHER 24v conversion! DO VW give you free beer if you get one of these engines? Seriously though, good work Rob! No doubt you'll find it is everything and more that that charger wasn't. N/A power ftw!
  8. The inners don't rotate through the vertical plane like the outers do - think about the wheels steering and outer CV following suit, so they tend to last longer :)
  9. Nice car :D any idea what the cable/pipe is hanging down? Can see it in the side profile pic.
  10. Just sorting out delivery of guide pins and handbrake mech spring this weekend, so should have at least one side of the rear brakes done this week! Woo! The offside caliper hasn't even been looked at yet, must do that. Maybe this afternoon's job...! :D
  11. All your pics from the last two pages don't work. You tease! :mad2:
  12. I've managed to source some guide pins all being well, so new carriers will remain a pipe dream!
  13.   it's looking like finding a car over there, and selling before I return would make a lot more sense, what with the LHD and all. Maybe even a Corrado perhaps! might be able to find one on the west coast.
  14. wow, what parts are you swapping and where are you getting them?
  15. Had a moment of insanity and emailed VW about how much rear carriers (with guide pins) would cost: Ouch....but still tempted! Argh, I'm a new parts whore.
  16. Agh, I hate snap-offs. I feel your pain buddy. You should be able to wiggle the allen out of there with a bit of light and pliers all being well! I'm sure you'll find some ingenious way of getting it sorted!
  17. Anyone know who I need to speak to for getting a quote for shipping my C to the states to do a long West-East roadtrip across mainland America? Cheers, Jon. PS I bow down to Mr VR6, my Lord and Master
  18. I'm gonna go ahead and restart my commission-based marketing: Erwins ftw on rear carriers! :salute:
  19. I'm same with my engine - it's pretty tired. A full rebuild will be hundreds, probably £500+ (full VAG gasket set is £200!) and I'm thinking of maybe finding a second hand rebuilt engine with SERIOUS documents to prove it and buying that instead. Will hopefully keep costs down!
  20. Sounds like you've got enough things to keep you busy for the time being! Check out VW Vortex for engines / drivetrains that people have put in a C. Most of the good conversions and drivetrain layouts have been done a while back.
  21. :( That's pants. Time to get a donor car and store it away somewhere I think. Maybe they finally got round to rewmoving the part numbers for all obsolete bits? Surely that's much better than being under the illusion of the part still existing, and then going to the dealer who just points you back out the door.... I know i'd prefer to know straightaway if something is obsolete or not!
  22. Oh dear :pale: Does your radio not have a hidden fuse somewhere? I think quite a lot of them have one tucked into the radio body. We've all had days like this though, you're not alone!
