  1. yea you had your fair share of problems, don't let it get you down though, you gotta expect problems with cars of this age. The first problem wearnt your car's fault, was the council's by the sounds of it, and compensation for your damaged wheel should be claimed :) handles and sunroofs are common problems, which i havent had yet probley cause my car's a bit newer and just comeing to that point. If you had bought a calibra you could be moaning about the rust thats eating your car away or the fact its practically worthless, think yourself lucky your in a corrado :)
  2. Yeah the comfort is in a different league, the arm rest and cupholders are a very useful touch and the interia is what sells them for me, and potholes and speed bumps are not a problem in it. On my mum's though for a supposed "Gti" the suspension is definatly on comfort settings and i dont trust it driveing hard like i do the corrado. I would like to try a v6 or R32, unfortuantly they were out of my price range when i was decideing and had the same running costs as my corrado, fuel etc wise. Time will tell if i made the right decision but its a sorta love hate thing.
  3. I love the Corrado.. but I guess I just don't have the kind of salary that makes it viable to keep one on the road. Well, not unless i'm willing to just have NO life at all and never go out. And not all MK4's are boring! I understand that Jim and i have been close a few times too selling just cause it is an expensive car to run and i dont need the mechanical problems that sometimes afflict my car. i'm not digging on your mk4 jim, i nearly bought my mum's mk4 20v gti 3 door in black with lovely beige leather and audi tt polished rims but it is a boreing car to drive at the end of the day, somethin needs too be done with the suspension desperatly, i like it when i drive it, its quiet, refined, hassle free but it makes me appreciate my corrado's qualites. This is a corrado forum as well so we have too give it a bit of praise now and again
  4. I've had my vr6 corrado for two years now and have just come through a selling it phase even got to changein the plates round on it ready. But i'm gonna sink even more money into it and get all the finishing touches sorted and the bodywork dings, dents, scratches and stonechips sorted and look for some new wheels. I LOVE THE CORRADO, its a beast, its a classic, the vr6 sounds great and I dont want a boring to drive mk4 gti which i nearly bought of my mum.
  5. Nice car mate, i like them. Amazein what cars you can get nowadays for a grand or less, seemed like when i was younger and looking around all you could get was some ropey old escort/
  6. I've never seen my car go past the redline, but too be honest when given it that much of a caining i'm not looking at the rev counter. Will have a look next time. learnt on an old car that messing with the dials/needles, they never go back how they were.
  7. When i first bought my car couple of years back it done the cut out thing a couple of times, replaced the MAF on it and has never ever done it since. If ya know any local vr6 corrado owners you might be able too test one of theres on your car.
  8. Friday i picked my vr6 up from stealth after nearly a week with out it, its now running the best ever , and has convinced me to keep it (i love it deep down), they have fitted a later vr6 oil breather, a new fuel pump and sender, 4 wheel alighnment and a bit of a service. Today i got some quotes to get all my bodywork repairs done and ordered a badgeless front grille as a treat for the car.
  9. My Vr6 has had a cat back Magnex system on it for last two years and has been superb and is not that loud i would recommend this system. Was between this and a new standard system due to the extra cost of haveing that fitted, lowering the axle etc, i went with the magnex.
  10. No, fuel economy is about the same with it, just want too rule it out, tryin to sort some running issues out.
  11. Cheers dr_mat. Car's going too stealth next weekend so see what they can do about it.
  12. Nah its not a UNIchip, Think its a Superchip, I just want it out though but was not given my old chip back at the time, much to my annoyance now, gonna go down shop now and have a good moan about it.
  13. Bugger, Cheers Joe, Thats what i thought.
  14. Does anyone know if its possible to unchip a car, as in my car has been chipped earlier in its life and would like too take it out, is this possible or should i have another chip to go back in it>??
  15.      Hahaha thats well funny, i mean unlucky for ya, would love to have seen that
  16. Lol, where do i start mate, its going back to stealth in a couple of weeks. send ya a pm.
  17. I think there's always been cheap VR6's avalible it just depends upon the condition of the car in question. Bought mine 2 years ago for just over 3k which was about right for age condition etc, now when i come too sell it even though i have spent a good 7/8k on it since then, doubt i will ask anymore then 4k for it. Was looking at the stall with the angel eyes at inters yesterday, pity there show car was a Polo sporting its versions of the angel eyes all condensated up and looking piss poor, hope the corrado ones arent of that quality for the 240quid they were asking. Saying that if i keep my corrado and they lower the price i would like some but they need to bring out some fogs/indicators too match. Car was looking sweet yesterday kev :)
  18. You took the words right outa my mouth. Thats dedication, good on ya :)
  19. The platinum plugs they ONLY sell now are nearly £65quid so i think its reasnoble, specially if its the right side off 100K with fvsh already.
  20. i recently sold that exact boxed corrado/scricco boxset for £100 pounds plus on ebay lately/ Mine went to Greece. Hope you dint pay that much for it beeftech?
  21. Better then most of these G60's are giving. Mine will do low 20s around town, high 20s out of town and had 35.5mpg as my all time highest.
  22. Problem i had on mine when it would only work on speed 4 was the plastic control knob was pushing the copper contact back too far a bit of careful bending and all was well again. Probley nothing too do with yours but worth trying.
  23. But what about the members who can't make the AGM, a 2/300 mile round trip just too hear what the club is going to be doing differently this year is a bit much for some people. Its not fair too be classed as armchair warriors as in the post above yours does. Is that how the committee sees its members? Will the club be sending out letters tellin members whats been decided, as this year the commuication from the club has been poor. 1 Sprinter, and 1 renewel agm letter. This will be my 4th year in the corrado club if i renew which even at £7.50 i cannot decide if i will get value for money. Does not help that i live in Norwich which doesent really fall into any regional host area for local meetings. Why Is there a dislike between the forum and the club? Too me it seems the club is the older generation of corrado owners while the forum seems too be more the younger generation. Would love too know why they cant all work together???????????
  24. Yeah my Vr6 came with the grille with the two slats closed, seemed a bit stupid too me, specially for that hot engine. Bought a new grill from GPC and all the slats were open. All the grills have the bit for a badge to fit on as i think all vr6's came with a grill badge.
  25. The second style (the early ones) were only on J & some K reg golf vr6's before they were replaced with the ones in your first pic which were used up till R reg.
