hey there pal, hows things? good to hear things are moving along... mate you'll probably find that the pas/alternator bracket has to come back off - it's pretty much impossible to getthe inlet manifold bolts in with the bracket on - you have to do all the stuff in order: exhaust manifold/s first, then heatshield, then inlet, then bracket, then alternator etc - it's a PITA, but that's how it's got to happen really (btw with the heatshield, it's a very good idea to keep it as it supports the inlet manifold. if you're using a dubpower manifold i can confirm it will fit over - you just have to bend it a tiny bit. the redundant coolant piping comes off pretty easy too iirc) if you get stuck i have a crane you can borrow, but it will involve collecting it from the end of the M50 near ross-on-wye... let's have some more pics! :D

car is looking stunning mate - can't wait to see the shine once it's finished 8) by the way what did you paint those calipers with? - need to do mine at some point...
-
did i really hear you of all people say that?!!  glad to see you're starting with progress Rob - looking forward to seeing another go through the motions :D
-
looks absolutely stunning mate (is that your brother's place?) - glad to hear it's not bad now after the rebuild (still wouldn't be happy about cylinder 6 personally, but i guess you'd better take what you can from that garage...). oh and if that was mine, i wouldn't drive it in the rain - you certainly have nothing to be ashamed about after all the work you've put in
-
that's a nice touch - is that just through VAG-COM?
-
off the top of my head without going to look at them, those cats look different (wider) compared to the ones i've got off a mk5... i'll hopefully get the chance check tomorrow (from memory) - but i don't remember my standard cats being any/much wider than the milltek items i replaced them with... oh, and i have now bought another car - it's not an integra though... please see link for my new motor :norty: - http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/1054512.htm (and i recon the stickers will be coming off before anyone says anything...) it may not be to some people's tastes, but i've always wanted one, and seeing as i saw two proplerly ratty tegs that were miles away, i thought bugger it and just went with my heart (was just getting the teg to justify a "sensible" option anyway!)
-
great to hear that pal - glad your enthusiasm has returned too. in all fairness mine never left - it was just quelled by those around me! i am pleased you're not selling any more and relieved the temptation has been removed too!
-
fair play mate, your thread is looking great as usual :D would be interested to see your exhaust if you manage to get some piccies of it sometime... btw - i'm off to essex tomorrow to look at an integra. if i buy it, then i'll probably be driving home via salisbury to see the girlfriend - if you're about then i'll give you a nudge :) hope all is well pal, speak to you soon, Pete

Coxys R32 4 Motion Corrado - On the Road!!!!

aawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww - i already miss that noise! looks and sounds lovely pal - how long now until it's your daily for real? (and what's with the weird cat-like noise at the start?!? ) -
defo looks better with the sebrings Kip 8) this is just my personal opinion, but i really do think Vibratechnics mounts are crap! - mine was asolutely shredded when i took it off my standard VR (and i certainly had not given it a hard life). not only that, i've heard bad things from others who've replaced vibra mounts in the past. afaik, VF enginerring mounts are the aftermarket ones to go for if you go that way. thing is though; the original is probably that tired now that just replacing it with another OEM item will probably feel infinitely better anyway.... car is looking spankingly clean as usual by the way :D
-
do it mate, and put your gearbox on it. gearbox has already gone pal - that's yet another reason why i'm no going to buy it. if i still had my gearbox then i would have put that and my shockers on it and called it done. as it is though i need something that's 100% reliable and preferably new and nice to drive (so none of the corrado rattles etc) i know that's a bit of a cop out, but i'm defo going to sort myself out with another project car, so could well retrn to the corrado fold before long) sorry for the thread hi-jack btw James :)
-
i would love to buy this, but there would have been hardly any point in getting rid of my old one if i was to buy this one it's really really really tempting though as i have the cash sitting here burning a hole in my pocket! :?
-
hahaha - car is looking great Karl; was very envious when you told me how much you paid. by the way i have two nice sets of wheels with good tyres on if you fancy a look wehn you come down to check out the seats! :norty:
-
cheers pal - sorry if you don't already know, but i don't need the bearings any more (now breaking my car  ); if you could hold them and PM jamminvr6storm about them that would be really appreciated (i think he's stil after a set..) of course you can still have the cutch line - are you/anyone from your neck of the woods anywhere near me any time soon? i could post it for you, but obviously that wil be a little extra (£5 or whatever it costs) and you'll have to wait longer... up to you. what kind of sausages are we talking here?! (i've always been partial to pork and leek personally)

the best thing to get the seals out is something that won't scratch the seal seats (personally i carefully use a round parallel punch with a nice flat end - if that makes sense...) as for getting the seals back in - you should be able to position them very well by hand, then just get a nice flat piece of wood and carefully tap it into place with a hammer on the other side of the wood - make sure it goes in nice and square when you're doing this...
-
FYI - i had made arrangements with Steve (supercharged) to swap the bearing for some parts i had - so i was in fact going to take them until all this crap with my own car happened. i only brought it back up as i thought i was doing you a favour if you were still after some... AND YOU NEVER SAID 100% YOU WOULD DEFINITELY HAVE THE SHOCKS! (as my above post shows) as VR6 says, I'm not going to bicker on with you just to get the last word on everything; just know that i strongly disagree with most of the points you've made above. if you feel you still want to continue the dispute with me outside of the forum i'm more than happy to speak to you anytime - you've got my phone number... i sincerely apologise for any inconvenience my actions may have caused you - i guess we'll just have to put it down to a misunderstanding. i hope this can be the end of the matter, Pete

in my defence - please show me exactly where we agreed a sale! you've had this happen to you before - surely you would have learned by now - if you want something; say you'll definitely have it if you had told me that you definitely wanted the shocks pending pics (which you didn't!!!) then i would have held them for you... also you were haggling over the price (which in all honesty i thought was damn cheeky anyway considering the price; despite that i didn't say anything untoward). if i get someone who rings me up offering an immediate deposit having looked at my build thread and seen how old the shocks were and what sort of condition they were likely to be in (which you could have easily done yourself), you can hardly blame me for giving the shocks to them! - also there have been several people in my for sale thread even saying how top-notch all my stuff is after they have been to my place to collect!!! if you want something then bloody well say - YES I'LL DEFINITELY HAVE IT/THEM (and if that's pending pictures, then say that!) i feel your post in this thread is totally unjustified - make a definitive descision in future and you'll get some definitive results - don't fanny around! i even offered to sort you out with any other bits you wanted off my car cheap and this is how you re-pay me?! edit - for anyone else who thinks they may have a problem if they buy anything from me - please see my for sale thread for the endorsements fom all the people WHO HAVE ACTUALLY TURNED UP AND BOUGHT THINGS! also i would remind anyone of the forum rules - the first to say he/she will have something 100% takes it... double edit - here's a quote from the GOOD SELLERS thread - "Thanks to pete_griff for the radiator. Very quick delivery and brilliant to deal with." also here's a link to my for sale thread if any of you would like to see how apreciative the others were who turned up - viewtopic.php?f=13&t=79804&start=0 (this post has really upset me - anyone who has met me will hopefuly tell you what kind of a bloke i am - i'm really hacked off that someone who has given you nothing but words can try to put you down like this) to set the record straight for all to see - please see below all PM correspondence between Ben and myself (scroll from bottom to top to read) - at no point does he mention that he will definitely take them once he has seen the pictures... - - - - - - - - "Bit gutted that you didnt let me know if im honest, especially as Im sure I said id have them first. Would have appreciated you saying someone was willing to give the full amount and did I want to match it! Spose it doesnt matter now. Thanks! - hey again Ben, hope all is well with you... not wanting to be the breaker of bad news again - but i've had a bloke already send me a deposit without seeing the shocks and he is willing to pay the full asking price. i'm sorry you've been gazzumped again - but i could hardly refuse a guy willing to pay the asking rice and give me a deposit straight up. i hope you understand and you're not too upset pal. if there's anything else that i've got that you would be interested in then please let me know. most of the "shiny" parts are spoken for now, so it's just the standard bits and bobs left... thanks again, Pete - hey there again Ben, thanks forthe reply. i very much doubt i'll be down that way any time soon unfortunately. i'll clean/photo/weigh the shocks this weekend provided i've got the time and we'll go from there. thanks very much again, Pete - Hi Pete, Im in the other direction mate, I live in South East Kent. Are you anywhere near there or even London bound anytime soon? Happy to meet up if you are? If I am going to arrange the courier I will need to know the weight of the package (and strangly enough the courier I use and trust also want to know the size of the box!!) If you can give me some info I will get a quote. Cheers Ben - fair one about the drive buddy - where abouts are you? (i travel around and up to north wales a fair bit with work, so i could potentially drop them off) i will hopefully get the front set removed this weekend (rears are already off). i'll give them a bit of a clean and tak a couple of photos for you. if i'm couriering though then obviously the price will go up accordingly... also on that note it would probably be better if you arranged the courier. that way you don't have to pay me anything extra and you can take it up with the couriers yourself if they get damaged/lost etc. have a think wht you wantto do and get back to m. thanks again, Pete - Hey Pete, My immediate dilema is that you are a 4 hour drive from me - Thats 1 way, so it would be 8 hours to pick them up and come home! Is there any chance you would remove them take a pic or 2 (just so I can see them - £700 notes is a lot to spend on something you havent actually seen) then package up securely and courier to me? Cheers Ben - hey again Ben, thanks for the response. the KW's will need picking up from the Ross-on-Wye end of the M50. if you can't make it this weekend, then that's no massive drama - but i do want them gone asap. if you want you can give me a ring to talk about it if that would help - 07888701877 - Pete i'll just remind you again that they come with new top mounts and bearings. the front top mounts are bonraths too which cost about £100 on their own! thanks again, Pete - Hey Pete, I'll have a think tonight and let you know tomorrow mate. Where will they need picking up from? Cheers Ben"

haha - love it! if i do get another then it will have to be something a little more wild like 4wd turbo etc. watch this space i guess! and thanks again for the encouraging words - they've helped with some difficult descisions. -
I think you will need pretty much everything to the VR tbh, you'll need to convert to VR (without engine) and then to 24v as far as I know. tbh, the easiest thing to do is stay wit 4-stud stuff i've you've already got 4-stud i.e you'd be better off looking at 20vt conversions if you've got a g60. as mr herisites says - to run 5-sud stuff (r32 etc), then you'll need all 5-stud running gear, which only vr's have

i'm unsure at the moment in all honesty. i definitely want to get a second car that i can work on and leave my daily driver totally standard. that way the only thing (touch wood!) i'll have to worry about on my daily is general maintenance, which will save many many arguements! also it's much better to have a second car, as not only is it a spare car when required, but it means there is no stress whatsoever when you need to go somewhere as you've hopefully always got something that works. much as i really have fallen in love with them i'm not sure if a 'rado would be he best project car... it would defo be a cheap solution for something to shake a spanner at! if i can afford it i wanted to go all out on something 4wd or rwd and i was thinking along the lines of a hayabusa turbo powerplant... (just food for thought!) check out the zcars elise if you're bored - http://www.zcars.org.uk/ as it stands though i have neither the cash or time to be thinking about that sort of thing in the immediate future, so i'll have to wait and see what pans out over the next few months. i have already thought about picking up another rado in future and doing the 4wd thing; that's still very much a possibility. if i've got a second car as a project though, i recon i would want it to be far far more focussed than a 4wd corrado... we'll have to wait and see! -

the job is indeed very much underway now. i just couldn't keep it - it's amazing the amount of pressure parents can put on you even when you haven't lived at home or needed cash off them for years! plus the sigh of relief my girlfriend breathed when i said i was getting rid of it was unbelievable - and i purposely made 'rado ownership as painless as i could for her! :? it really was heart wrenching having to drive it for the last time and then park it up to start ripping bits off it :( at the end of the day though there's light at the end of the tunnel - i'll be getting a nice newish car from all the proceeds from the corrado (think i've finally settled on an integra type-r dc5 - the new integra). and before long when i come in to some money i'll hopefully be picking up a project car that i can work on when i have some free time (so never probably!) hence there is definitely scope to return to the corrado fold yet... i really can't say enough how much i appreciate the offers of help on here - i certainly won't forget that and hopefully i've sorted those in question out with accordingly priced parts... i've really enjoyed the friendliness on this forum so i recon i'll try and stick around on here in future and help people out where i can... the end of an era really (albeit a short one!) -
thanks Karl - i am indeed selling it if you're interested... viewtopic.php?f=13&t=79804&start=0
