What about the metal piece that actually turns the ignition switch? Have you tried just plugging the ignition switch in and putting your key/screwdriver directly into it and starting it like that?

So am I! The way I look at it I now have a spare starter, two spare relays and a spare battery :lol:

After a night of re-tracing my steps I have finally sorted it!! It was the ignition switch but ALSO two of the wires going into the connector were terminated properly! I can't believe it I am chuffed but so pi$$ed off at the same time :censored:

Right I have had enough!! This problem is still ongoing. So far I have; Tried a new ignition switch (not fully fitted, just plugged in and turned with a screwdriver) Changed the starter motor Changed the battery Changed relay 67 Changed relay 109 Cleaned up earth points behind battery and on gearbox I don't know what else to try, this problem is costing me a small fortune so far and I am still none the wiser. What do I try next? :shrug:

Right I am unable to open the bonnet on the drivers side. I have read the knowledge base article and am trying to release it manually. The problem is I can't fit my hand up past the pulleys. Anyone got any tips?

Red Valver H8** AVV leaving the M4 at the Cwmbran turn off around 15.45. Looked pretty much standard.

As you look at the car from the front it is on the right side.

I have a really thin blue wire with a spade connection on the end (the female connection) running from the back of my engine bay to nowhere. Can anyone tell me if or what it should be attached to? Thanks Rich

I have just replaced the spark plugs in my VR and below are pics of the worst ones I removed (although none looked good). Should I be worried about the state of them? Thanks Rich

Thanks for StueyB for the starter motor, he was great to deal with and starter was packaged well. Thanks to ADZ_VR6 for delivering the 6 branch manifold almost to my door, top bloke.

Already done it! Contacted Besian, paid up (£30) and am eagerly awaiting the starter :D Got to try and get rid of the auto one now! :roll:
