Dav - there's nothing worse then dropping a '' :ignore: '' post and getting the below reaction (the movie clip is much better) I couldn't leave ya hanging mate. Not that I condone this line of thought :nono:

Ditto :D Same applies to women... I like them how I like my cars, 19 years old and locked in a garage. - !! Permission to use this over and over again when anyone brings up ''my old banger'' :salute: in fact maybe not, mines 1995 vintage  , and especially not if your cars a late reg 1996

whenever I hear that word, Alan Partridge pops into my head: ''my licence is clear, yours is dirrrrrty''

+1 to Kev for weekly quick wash - it just stops any huge build up of dirt happening, so makes the proper wash less of a chore. That said, when I've been walking up to my car in the evenings recently, it always appears to be gleaming under the near by street lights!! Very odd. I have'nt wash it properly for over a week (i know!) yet you'd swear it had just been detailed! I do use Turtle Wax Extreme Nano-Tech Wash & Wax, which is brilliant. And I do pour a small amount of the concentrate on the sponge just before doing the front and bonnet. May this is the result  Temps to rise everywhere this weekend, so we'll all be out washing our 'raddo's for one drive before their covered in sh!t again

top bombing Ben - cheers,

hmmmmm  You've got me wondering now  Not being an expert, would even I notice if it was down in power? Like I said, had it out recently, and it, to me, seemed in pretty good shape. I take it I can order the cam sensor off eurocarparts etc? cheers :salute:

spot on Kev - 'nail - hit - on - head' took mine out for spirted drive yesterday after not having been out for over three wks due to MOT check, niggles etc (etc meaning 'wet'!! ) Just wanted to ask the question of the car, 'right, you still got it then?'. Took it to a long quiet empty stretch of good tarmac and commenced the experiment. Rolled it from standing start up to 3k rev, then planted till about 5,800 / 6k, it does feel a bit thin or light, if that makes sense, not getting you down the road as much as you'd expect, but 1st is just a set up for 2nd gear to really get the party started i reckon , and if you get to say, 5k rev, in 2nd and tell me it's not quick, well then you best get a turbo stuck on! In short - get in one and give it some Heinz - then report back!

for consideration....thank you much

Kev, I'd be happy if mine came off a rr showing over 180bhp!! Given age of car and that a few horse's jump the fence over time  I'd be gutted though if it came out in the 170's or sum'it. As for the racing, yeah, I love a little flutter, but when it's someone in a very quick car, scooby's, evo, porsche M3 type, I'm happy to go nuts for a few sec's, Cole Trickle stylee  , give'm a bit've a spook  , just so they know the old girls still got it!! Then just little wave maybe and slip into the masses. Not worth charging along really. Their cars faster. Fair play to'em. End of. -
drove down to the folks house on Sat, car was really playing up. lumpy/stuttering, creaking suspension, weird rattle noise in cabin :mad2: Just felt like it was upset with me for not cleaning it in two weeks :confused4: So have a natter with the old lad about maybe, sort've possibly, kind'a might, think of moving the car on for something a bit more modern, less thirsty. And what happens on the may home.... the cheeky little sh!t plays a blinder  rattle. gone suspension creaking. gone. lumpy rev range. gone - was like driving a new car was so smooth :thumbleft: Couldn't help tapping the dashboard and smile'n, ''best behaviour now eh?!''

Had exact issue myself. turns out it was the 'drive flange' ( ) it had to be shaved a bit but seems to be working fine now :ignore:

bit off topic but, overhere in Ireland, we're not meant to get out've the car when we're pulled over, till we're told to. Or is this just me being too goody goody?! :D -
Went to get the mot / nct done last weekend. Needless to say I had the car pre - booked in for the week after to fix all the issues that were sure to come to light during the test........ Car passed first time  The gentleman doing the test then beckoned me over: ''how much do you want for it?'' ''eh, not really selling it....yet'' ''bloody hell, she's stunning, here's my number, what would you take for it honestly'' I gave him a figure that I'd be happy to take and he seemed fine. :help: Side note: my first VR, green '94, also flew through the test first time and also was enquired was it for sale

well, whatever the average wage is - I ain't on it! And living on what's left after we've been fleeced is getting more and more tricky. -
well it sounds spot on. Obviously without seeing the car, it tricky to price. But on the evidence of your post, everything sounds in good shape. Mileage is low, FSH (although recent post suggests FSH don't mean shiite anymore  ) I'd feel a hell'uva lot better if it was there though :? I'd be looking at sticking a low 3k figure, maybe 3250pounds  best a luck mate :salute:

don't worry hyland - I'm with you mate - I'll always take the gf's car if it's raining - can't really enjoy the driving experiance when roads are wet and car in front is spraying you in filth! this morning was perfect driving weather by the way. Dry road and nice cold thin air - engine says 'MORE MORE'!!

don't temp me ollie! Was over in Liverpool recently and the wife had to tell me to shaddap  I kept banging on, ''look at these beautiful roads'' ''you know they pay f#ck all road tax too'', ''and don't get me started on servicing'' I stopped short of saying, ''and their birds are well fit and up for anything''. This, I have zero proof of course :ignore: , but come on, I watched your 'Take me Out' show recently, granted there were a few :gag: :gag: , but mostly were :luvlove: :luvlove: anyway....bas'tids :mad2: -
VR6lee's post about insurance costs etc got me thinking about us lot over here in southern Ireland and the cost of running & ownership of VW's super coupe This is the kind of sh!t we over here have to put up with to own & drive our dream car. You guys (UK owners!) don't even know your born  Cost of purchase - average condition VR6: UK £2,800 (€3,200) Ireland €4,200 Road Tax per year UK £435 I think! (€495) Ireland €1,050 Insurance per year UK £400 - 600?? I could be way off here! Ireland €1000 - doubt anyone over here gets it for less then 1k no matter how clean your licence. Full Service of car - Average UK £200- £350?? Ireland €400 - take your pick! Plus, our roads, bar dual carriage-ways, are shocking...EVERYWHERE!! Just thought I'd lop this in for debate...you lucky lucky bas'tids!

yep, loads of 'same here' in the above posts. The no acknowlegement for giving way really fooks me off. I now shake my fist up at them while putting on an angry face like an angry Alan. Talking about Partridge type behaviour, check below linky for the ultimate road menace. Sadly all too true..... http://www.meatpasty.co.uk/alanpartridg ... ansrun.htm

Excessive use of tyre shine = squeaking noise?
sprinterVR6 replied to sprinterVR6's topic in General Car Chat
cheers for replies. It's at it's worst when turning right, and lower the speed the noisier it is. Noise is coming from the passenger side front. It's due in for M.O.T. on 16th, which I feel it may fail :confused4: so I've it provisional booked into the local garage for straight after. -
