Ive got similar problems. Ive greased them but to no avail. I got this reply from RW1 the other day: As regards the gear selection problem, first port of call is the cable end to gear box attachment. It's poor engineering design as the nut is only tightened to 10 ft lb and has no lock nut or other retainer mechanism. It can work loose as consequence. Need two peeps, get someone to move the gear stick across the gear gates from 5th to reverse ie. the neutral right to left movement, without engaging any gears. On the gearbox you will see only one cable move the gearbox controls. The cable throws the lever back and forth over a short arc. Put the gear stick fully over to the reverse gate but not forward into the reverse gear position. While it is held there, see if the cable end/gearbox lever control will go further towards the that end of travel. If it does, then the cable end fitting has slipped. A crude way to adjust the cable end/gearbox lever control is to slacken the nut slightly. Hold the cable end and push the lever so that the end travel coincides with the gear stick's full travel across the gate at either end of the across left/right neutral throw. At the extreme ends of the cable movement, there is hardly any play and if there is it should be a balanced at each end of the cable's travel. When happy with the set-up, nip the nut upto 10 ft lb, Any more and damage may occur to the plastic end fitting on the gearchange cable. May be worth taking the nut off and putting some "lock-thread"on the threads of the cable attachment. If this is not it, then there is a problem inside the gearbox.

Does your corrado hit the rev limiter in 5th gear ?

I took my last one to about 143 ish, and there was still more to go. It was standard. It was slow getting there above 130 though. -
If you need a new handle/lock look here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-CORRADO-G60-16 ... dZViewItem

Usually on around 30MPG. On a trip I can get up to 35, though the other week it told me I had 41MPG!!! I think there was a glitch somewhere!!!! I had my last C down to 17MPG on a blast to work :)

I am toying with the idea of colour coding my handles (Passat rears) , grille and rear number plate surround. I was also toying with the idea of "Doing it myself" So 1) Is it easy to do? 2) Where is the best place to get the right paint? 3) What sort of price should I be looking at? 4) Should I stop being tight and get it done professionally? or 5) Just leave it all as standard? Cheers me dears

Thought fully synth was to thin for C's???????

Sounds like a loose connection to me. There is a plug behind the door card which you can have a look at, or it may be at the handle end. Its fairly easey to remove the handle to have a look there too.

Yeah I think so, they do metal, plastics and interiors. They come out and give you a free no obligation quote too. What you got to lose?

Are they the ones on way to Blackpool mate? There is a place on the way there which I was gonna call into anyway.

Not entirely no. I havent had a decent look yet. It was like it when I bought it a couple of months ago (I dint notice at first) and havent had chance to look properly yet. I know the guy I bought it from, and the car hasnt been damaged at all. Its not as bad as previously said (taking the p*ss), but it is a few cm's out.

My Passenger front wheel Camber is way out. The top of the wheel points inwards and nearly touches the air box :) How do I go about adjusting it? Or should I take it to a garage? :?
-
As thge title says. After driving I cant find 1st, unless putting it into 2nd first (even then its f*cking hard!!), its the same for reverse. Its also hard to select the gear from standing, although once done, its easy to go from second to first etc etc. Ive checked the cables, they seem dine. Ive greased the linkages at the gearbox, but to no avail, and Ive checked the circlip on the stick - Its there!! What else can I do? Is it feasible to remove the linkages and clean them all up? Is it difficult? I dont know where to go from here

Ah, I'll have to have a butchers tomorrow ;)
-
Didnt know there was one ???
-
Youve lost me there :? :( What are they? How do they adjust? Cheers mate

Ive used it, took about 45 mins the other week, good stuff. Apparently you can use blu/white tack and it does the same job, as no doubts you'll still have loads of applicator left ;)

Sounds a bit strange to me mate. Can you get a gauge plugged in to test it?

My bro got it at trade price i think????

When you turn the key to the second notch and press the fob it deactivates the immobiliser, as well as preventing it from rearming. i find it really annoying that the alarm rearms when Im filing up!!! Just a good job I never leave the key in!!!
