  1. Jay, Phatwho have you guys used? Is there much difference from the standard insurance?
  2. I see he wants to outdo Phat lol
  3. Apparently the top LEds for the clocks can be bought, but the bottom ones need soldering yourself, if you want to change them. Personally Ive kept the bulbs and just put different film over the mfa clocks. So if I ask for the top 3, and then 25 3mm 12v LEDs for the dash, and see what package he'll do, then if you need more 3mm LEDs you can just order more. Seem ok to you lot? Oh, would you also like some LED bulbs for the interior lights ie main light on roof when door opens? Give me any suggestions, and preferably the type or part number of the bulbs you want to replace, and I'll see what they'll do for us.
  4. Im trying to get a deal with http://www.ultraleds.co.uk so hold your horses if you can ;)
  5. Nice one dude 8) When I get my 24v in there'll be a few of us about, though I'd rather have an R32 lump ;)
  6. As above. My mate has one in his A6 and has a leak from the oil breather, according to Audi. they want nearly £200 to do the job, but the part is only £20. He's intending on doing the job himself, but was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this sort of thing before?
  7. Dutch, Im going 24v mate. Do you still want the block and pistons? Ive got the guys number etc if you want it. I think hes in Lancaster which isnt far from me.
  8. Do the bulbs come out of their holders? Without having my car here I cant have a butchers.
  9. Not sure exactly. Hes doing the engine and using the looms and clocks but not sure what else. Hes got the car at his disposal. The engine has about 40k on it iirc
  10. It does include the engine yes. If you want me to ask him I will, as soon as hes done mine then he should know exactly what is needed for the job. I think its the first 24v into a C hes done, though hes done plenty of 1.8T conversions etc etc.
  11. Its not as straight forward as that mate. he had my car in for some diagnosis originally, then had to strip the bottom end to find out that it was pretty much knacked due to one of the shells being knacked. He then looked further into cylinders to see if they were ok or not, one of them is scored and would therefore need to be rebored. In that case it would need new pistons etc etc as well as the chains and clutch needing to be changed. So after weighing the prices up it comes to about £2100 to rebuild the VR. He found the 24v, which is still in the Golf, and can have it for £1100. He is charging me no more than £2.5k for the lot, including the strip down of my VR, and he has to take the new engine out of the Golf himself. So I think its a fairly decent price, what do you think?
  12. Thats the one dude  If you dont wanna drive it, give him a call.
  13. Can you get to Stoke mate? http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=32814 Top bloke and excelent with all VAG cars. Hes currently got mine in for a new engine.
  14. Andy Walker at PSI Tuning in Stoke. He used to be the head mechanic at Awesome before he decided to set up his own company.
  15. 8) Cool, in that case I should defo have it back before crimbo. Ive given him the go ahead, so 24v HERE WE COME!!!!! 8)
  16. Saw a white H plater in Preston yesterday and a red H plate G60 today, anyone?
  17. Nope, it has a small bulb with green paint on it ;)
  18. But even with a turbo on a VR, its nowhere near the 700-800bhp a 200 can get to.
  19. While your doing that one, you could do the rest and change them all to a different colour like red or blue or whatever floats your boat, and give it a fresher feel ;)
