  1. Have the chains been done?, Trying to rule out the timing being out.
  2. Agree.. As i said, IF you know what your doing..
  3. So its probably 53mm OD which will be about 49mm ID, They are tight on their pipe diameters imho, bigger diameter pipe = more expensive. My advice is, if your going to get your exhaust fitted there, make sure you specify what YOU want, you should be running at least a 2 1/4" system on a VR imho.
  4. Its not dangerous if you know what your doing, Many springs have coilbound retaining coils at the bottom of their travel, these are to ensure that when the car is raised the spring does not unseat from the spring perches, Providing you have enough coils you can cut the spring here providing the spring will still locate in the perch correctly.
  5. What bore is your pipework?
  6. M/N? reg mystic blue storm with top tinted rears A265 between etchingham and burwash today.
  7. Steer well clear is my opinion, I had a 2001 Alfa GTV V6, they fitted a system to my car that was about 1.5" diameter in places, i didnt really pay attention as it was a long day (east Sussex - birmingham) and i wanted to get home. When i phoned up to ask them why the f88k they had fitted a car with 220bhp with a pea shooter the guy tried to fob me off telling me it was done to raise back pressure, when i told him that that diameter pipe would only just flow enough for my engine if the pipework was perfectly straight with no bends, kinks or silencer boxes to slow down exhaust flow he reluctantly agreed to re do the system (basically when he realised i know what im talking about)... To be fair to them they did re do the system properly the second time but i had to drive up there twice to get it sorted, if i didnt know better i would have been stuck with a shitty system....
  8. Fingers crossed the weather improves for you matey :norty: :) About 22'c and sunny here today  what about sunday? :) Can't get it gassed up on a Sunday so if i finish it by Saturday great, if not Monday is re gas day 8)
  9. And rip them you will, i will bet the bottom bolt is seized...
  10. Have you tried using a G clamp to push the piston back into the housing?,ive worked on plenty of seized calipers and they usually can be saved with some elbow grease. Shame to buy a new caliper, im sure someone local on here who's upgraded has a spare caliper, if you were closer id lend you one.
  11. Seen they had sold 1 unit already, Was my backup plan.
  12. You would have fluid weaping from the affected cylinder, check your brake/clutch fluid level. My guess is the slave.
  13. i know exactly what the backing plate is. What im saying is if everything else fits it might be that the backing plate has been bent slightly. if its a case of you cannot fit the disc on because the backing plate is stopping you getting the disc onto the hub then something is not right. Pictures speak a thousand words
  14. You might find that the backing plate has been previously bent in, might get away with bending it back, apart from that do the calipers fit over the discs with pads in??
  15. Purely coincidence. You have a failing clutch slave or master cylinder.
  16. You cant use the 280 carriers with the 288 calipers. Get some pictures.
  17. Im in the process of fitting some black Alcantara Recaro's from a DC2 Integra, These are the same 6 bolt fixing which is common amongst all flat bottomed Recaro's. In the end i cut the rails off the Corrado seats, you cannot bolt the recaro seat to the existing Corrado subframe, it needs to be chopped and the height adjustment mechanism binned if you want to get the seat low enough as the height mechanism essentially takes up 2/3rds of the height of the seat base. Im using a local engineering co. that ive used before to fabricate me a frame that the recaro will bolt to and then that will be welded to the Corrado seat rails. Cost for the fabrication is 50 quid for the pair 8) . Ive also found another solution on Ebay:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT I was seriously thinking about using these but it wasactually cheaper to get my rails fabricated, these look like a viable alternative..
  18. Finishing off Air Con retrofit - just got to mount the reciever dryer and check all the pipe unions are tight, then fingers crossed i will have ice cold air con either Saturday or Monday 8)
  19. zenon kit comes with its own loom which feeds straight from the battery so it does the job of the uprated headlight loom. The fire risk is the headlight switch itself.

    Coolant Loss

Yes it is directly above the power steering pump, I would say either the pump is shot of the crack pipe (the pipe that carries water from the pump to the thermostat housing) rubber O ring has failed above water pump.
  21. you should have got some H4 Bi Zenons, i could have fitted them for you. As youve gone down that route you want to get or make your own headlight loom, that will make as much or more difference than the uprated bulbs. Beauty of the H4 Bi zenons is they come with their own loom which also feeds through relays direct to the battery 8) . Hows the car going now?. Cheers Pete.
  22. i can get a picture later today for you as im doing the loom for my a/c today.
  23. Went to Oxford to pick up some recaro speeds, carried on with my Air Con retrofit. Cut up the pass side Corrado front seat to make a subframe up for above recaro's..
  24. sunroof is a piece of pee to replace, I can get a headlining and roof casette out in 10 minutes on a bad day. Getting it back in is more hassle if your working alone but even so its still not a bad job. Retrofitting air con, thats what i call a pig of a job especially when your trying to do a neat job..
  25. GSF sell stock exhaust valves, were fine when i rebuilt my head
