  1. M plate Dark colour? VR6 heading Northbound today on the A21 at 11.30am just at the start of the dual carriageway of the Tonbridge Bypass.
  2. Which relay are you missing?, im sure its not a specific Diavia Relay just a normal generic switched relay.
  3. Thats a pi55er YK  , Still at least its on a panel that you were going to get repainted. Im so glad i have off street parking too!
  4. from memory they're just M6 bolts? You should get away with using a longer bolt and nut if you have enough clearance to get a nut on the end of the bolt?
  5. Ive always had a better result at halfords getting touch up mixed up than getting the dealer touch ups, think its DuPont paint scheme at my local branch..
  6. Agreed, usually you get a period of it being noisy as the chain runs over the rivet heads, then these break off and the chain goes quiet again as it runs on the metal back plate of the tensioner pad!
  7. As above, you can see if the top tensioner pad is borked by removing the top engine covers, aux water pump, coilpack and upper timing cover, its about an hours work to do it all and put it back together. The chains themselves very rarely fail and the bottom end tensioner and guide dont really wear. I bought the bits from VW using the better Mk4 stuff and the chains themselves from GSF (chains were Febi) for about 100 quid, the parts themselves are not expensive....
  8. Yup. That's the way late cars work. If the Aux pump isn't working it could be the fuse or a faulty fan control unit. Check the fuse and check the voltage at the plug. There are some diodes in the fan control unit that seem to switch the pump on. They can become unsoldered from the PCB. If you take the unit off and it rattles, it's probably them. So if I understand correct the late VR6's are supposed to have this pump running imidiately when the ignition is turned on ? All three of my Vr6's have done this, 97 Golf, 95 rado, 93 Rado..
  9. Mine runs on my car when the ignition is on, and when the cooling fan after run is triggered, has done on my previous Corrado VR and my Golf VR6 Highline, Make of that what you will :D
  10. Is that on the road between Adenau and Nurburg??
  11. Thats a bugger!, Where are you staying?
  12. Nice one! When are you out there in August? We're (16 of us) are out there from 13th - 17th, its pretty much the only weekend that has nigh on full days both Sat and Sun. If your out there that weekend we should meet up 8) Cheers Pete.
  13. As for damage, it depends if the oil is actually making its way onto the clutch, it might do, it might not, if its not slipping now and its been weepeing for a while then you might get away with it for a bit longer. Personally as for taking the box off, its a bit of a pain getting the box out past the subframe once its undone. My personal opinion is take the whole lump out complete with box still attached, it is nigh on just as quick to remove the whole thing complete as it is to wrestle the gearbox out of a tight space, also that way you can give the bay a good clean up and do any other jobs on the engine whilst its out - things like the water pump are alot easier with the engine sat on the garage floor etc.
  14. I actually like both as much as each other, although i have to say there are imho better wheels for the Corrado than either
  15. Does look like its coming from within the box which more than likely means its the crankshaft oil seal thats gone - gearbox off job, might as well do the timing chains & clutch whilsts its off... You could be lucky in that the corner of the sump gasket is leaking.
  16. KR 16v drones with the stock system though
  17. Buy a proper 11mm brake pipe spanner to do the job properly, an open ended spanner is just not man enough for the job..
  18. As for the flat spots, you need to get the put car on VAGCOM, you could be chasing your arse for ages swapping bits over otherwise. ABS light coming on whilst driving is more than likely an intermitent abs wheel speed sensor fault. Gauges reseting is a bit strange, poor earth to the gauges unless you mean the trip time and mileage had reset??, they do that in position 1 after a few hours of use, if you mean the actual clock itself then something is wrong with the dash cluster, an earth or your battery.
  19. I would imagine that Marwicks system is a factory instal being that his car is LHD and that ours are totally different being RHD with Diavia retrofit kits so various bits are going to be different - ie the missing cardboard air deflector
  20. Not the end of the world, just means Mikala will have to drive the DC2  Your front are done, managed to get two hoses from GSF. Ive also fitted your drivers seat backrest adjuster, done your battery clamp up! and fixed the bonnet cable. I dont know who last had the wheels off (VW?) but the wheelbolts took all my weight on a two ft long breaker bar bouncing up and down to crack them!, i thought they were going to shear at one point!
  21. Dude, it was me who pointed u towards them...I had mine fitted t'other week with no problems! What's up with urs? Essentially the hoses are too short, no doubt they'd be fine with the car off the jacks but with the suspension unloaded and on full lock the hoses are way too short, im not prepared to let someone drive away in a car that could rip the hoses out under hard cornering or over a crest where the suspension goes to full travel. If anyone who has a Goodridge kit could wip a wheel off and run a length of string alongside their hose and get me a measurement it would be much appreciated. For now ive bought new OEM hoses which fit fine!.
  22. I put mine on before lowering mate and still no problem How much short are they of the brake union a lot or very little?? About 10cm on full drop and full lock!! :? I had this very same kit on my old Corrado!, cant understand it. Got some new rubber hoses to go on now but this is daft...
  23. Pre 95 are the screw in hoses ala Corrado, post 95 are the banjo fit hoses which is what fits the later 288mm calipers and is what ive got, If someone could get a measurement of their goodridge braided hoses it would be great. Perhaps that everyone is running on lowered suspension with shorter travel shocks has not highlighted this problem?. And to top it all the missus has just come home in our Mk4 GTI PD150 and the top pigtail of the front offside spring has broken meaning that the spring is sitting on the suspension turret rather than the top mount bearing!, never rains it pours!!
  24. yes calipers are fitted correctly Part no. is the same except its TVW not SVW, they are defo 95on VR6 hoses. Ive sent Goodridge an email questioning hose length as i can see yours are miles longer just by looking at the picture. Volksbits who supplied the customer just said they are the same length as the ones on the shelf, that doesnt help if the whole batch is too short!, Im off to my local GSF soon to measure length against a stock hose, if its longer then Volksbits are going to be getting a phone call!
