  1. Hey chaps, my Rado has become very displeased with me recently and I could do with a little advice on how to get back into it's good books! :( The car appears to be really struggling to control it's fueling and surges and lurches under anything other than a very steady throttle position. To give a bit of background, I'd recently disconnected the battery to carry out the inline-fuse headlight switch mod and when I'd finished I connected everything back up and fired up the car to put it back on the drive. The idle was a bit erratic and stalled once but it settled down and I put the car away and thought no more of it. The following weekend, having forgotten all about this, I took the car out, it started fine, drove around town, ran a few errands and chucked a bit of V-Power in it and headed home. There's a fast(ish) road on the way back so I was happily giving it a bootful and listening to the VR roar it's way round the rev counter when, after 5 mins or so of good old fashioned ragging, the car began to stutter and lurch as if it wasn't getting enough fuel, and then was suddenly getting far too much. I did a bit of a search and came up with a potential fuel pump issue or possibly an ecu settings issue. The ecu settings sounded plausible, considering the battery was disconnected to mod the head light switch, so I looked up the reset process and gave it a go today. It seemed to be going ok initially but as soon as I tried to push the car on a bit it was back to the tantrums and tears. I have to say it is remarkably tricky to follow the process to the letter on public roads, but I think I was fairly close to it and the car did seem to be running better, until of course I started driving normally..... So, I'm back to the fuel pump theory but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, experiences or thoughts as to what's be said and done....? All comments welcome, Cheers Mark
  2. Yep, I could go for Timbo's logic - if they make some sort of concession to at least move towards the eBay price then that would seem a little more gracious on their part. ... I'd still like to know their explanation of the eBay price though  Mark
  3. :? I smell a bit of a rat to be honest in that I suspect they didn't expect you'd be able to get 10 people together and are now making up stories to claw back the saving they offered. If you check out their eBay shop they're selling Corrado VR6 kits for £246.95 + £4.95 p&p....(30% off that would be c. £175) and there's no way that's plus VAT. My immediate reaction is to tell them to go forth and multiply, but it's still a reasonable discount and I'm aware I'd be cutting off my nose to spite my face... Guess I need to decide if I fancy a smaller nose or not - think I'll sleep on it... M
  4. If G60jaime is in then doesn't that mean there are 9 people in regardless of the 30% stragglers....? (Yes, I'm including myself in those stragglers!) Thus, if I join we have 10 definites and are good to go - presumably Timbo and Tandino will then come in too making us a giddy dozen. Am I right or am I wrong..? :norty:
  5. Been trying to resist the urge to go for this, but..... I'm also in so long as we get the 30% discount, ie 10 or more. I'm after a black set with the clips for a VR6. Cheers Mark
  6. Strictly Dubs used to do one - contact Simon and see if they can still source them... You don't say what engine you've got but as I recall the SD one was for a VR6 Mark
  7. I'm sure Simon will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the paint shop guy had a mysterious fire and then folded the company.... Not exactly an example for the kids... Hope the wheels turn up Si and you're able to recover them - will keep an eye out as they're very distinctive. Have you put out any feelers on wheelwhores? Mark
  8. Oh, and with the handle, it sounds as if the central locking cable hasn't been plugged in.
  9. It's the central locking pump - if it's droning on excessively you've probably got a bit of a leak. Try pealing back the drivers side wheel arch carpet in the boot to expose the pump and check all the pipes are properly on their connectors. If that doesn't do it it's a case of following the pipes and checking each connection until you find the culprit I'm afraid. With mine, I found replacing the pump itself sorted everything out in one foul swoop... Mine had packed up completely though. Mark

    who has A/C

My set up is with the AC buttons to the left of the headlight switch with everything else as nature intended... Obviously being a Corrado though, it doesn't work  Mark
  11. Excellent posts Supercharged...!
  12. This was featured in last months PVW
  13. I'm intending to pop along on the Sunday
  14. ......Hmmmmm interesting. How do you 'triple purify' water? - Presumably with some form of condensing equipment, but can it be done easily at home? As I discovered yesterday whilst trying to chisel flies off the front of the car at inters, it would be useful when at shows...
  15. Wise words from Mr Haywire - things will only get worse if you keep on at the neighbours about it. I know you said you don't really want to, but for the sake of your sanity I'd reconsider getting a garage off the council or maybe see if you can rent a space in a local industrial unit.... Mark
  16. Don't you just hate people born in the '80s...?!
  17. Last time I went through the respective websites (how sad?!) Tesco 99 and Shell Vpower were 99 ron with BP Ultimate and Esso Energy whatever trailing behind at 97. BP's Ultimate Ultra (or some similarly irritating oxymoron) comes in at 102 but I've never actually seen it on sale anywhere... For what it's worth my VR is definitely happier on the 99 ron stuff, Esso coming next and a noticeable lethargy with BP's lowly Ultimate 97.
  18. Stop messing about Karl and just get another VR will you?! - It's bound to work out better than the last on...
  19.  I hope your Misses doesn't see that Karl!!
  20. The flap is suppose to be spring loaded so it sounds as if your spring has either broken, fallen out or both. I've never had it happen to me though so can't help with repair advice I'm afraid.
  21. Scumbags!! :censored: Where were you parked?
