I didnt space them in the end, but i do have the spacers still. I want to see how they sit once its been lowered, I might try the spacers then. Has anyone else on the forum got a set? or is it an exclusive 2 member club? :D

I think I'll go for the bubblewrap option bcstudent! just in case... darren, yeah they've got tyres on, is that £26 each or all together? and which company is that with? ta.

I've got someone interested in my old wheels, and i'm going to have to post them so i'm looking for advice from someone whos done it! who was cheap? I guess I'm going to need with weigh them but how the heck do you weigh an alloy wheel?!

looking WELL smart mate, I'd definatly get some clear side repeaters though, IIRC £15 from halfarts and for something so small they make quite a differance. -
*dribble* 8)

unlucky mate, at least they didnt get it though.

I thought all the 2.0's were 8v?
-
cheers chaps! well chuffed with them, although they're a little tatty close up :( I totally know what you mean jim, i'd seen them on hennys car and thought hmmm, yeah they're alright, then when a set came up on ebay for pennys i thought well why not, they're better than the standard ones! now i've got them on they look brilliant, loads better than I expected! I think the DIY lowering is a bit out of my league at the moment, most complex thing i've done to date is slap an k&n filter in and drill the airbox!

fit it myself? dont i need spring compressors and all sorts of other stuff? :|
-
needs washing and needs lowering, but the borbets are on! suspension is sitting in the kitchen waiting for me to find someone to fit it for a reasonable price. its going down 40mm ASAP!
-
really quick'n'dirty  used hennys car as he has a really really FINE set of 16's on already, so they're roughly the right size....
-
I had my rub strips taken off when the car was resprayed over a year ago, as yet I've suffered no dents in carparks! (kiss of death, my doors now going to 'aquire' hundreds :() one thing you have to watch is the paint inderneith wont have faded where as the 'exposed' paint may have done. not sure if its an issue on darker colours, but some t-cut should help you blend it so long as its not too bad. door handles - got mine colour coded and sanj is right, they're prone to wear more than any other part because you use them so much. the passenger side one on mine has a chip out of the paint where someone wearing a ring caught it as they were getting in  looks LOADS better coded though. I had my washer jets done and the rear numberplate surround which some people like, others dont.

isnt henny selling his? -edit- nope its sold!

The white tipex 'vw' on the steering wheel looks familiar, but didnt 'the worlds best' have tipex wipers too? maybe its just rained since then....
-
damn my sucessful diet! just under 11st! :( looks like I'm going to have to invest in a breaker bar or a really long tyre iron tomorrow then!
-
just went to put my new wheels on, and i'll be bu&&erd if i can shift the wheel nuts at all! I think when i got the tyres changed they used one of those gun thingys to put them back on. is there a trick or a nack to getting them off other than brute force or going to garage and asking them nicely?
-
tried that, alloy wheels taste nasty.... :( I'm going to give them a good clean up tonight cos they're pretty filthy then stick them on tomorrow night and see how it goes! I wasn't asking cos i didnt belive you henny  I just wondered what other people had done and hoped for some pictures!
-
looks like a nice tidy example! hows the paint in real life? I bought a my red G plate about a year ago only it wasnt very red....more pink! :( funnily enough mine had 79k on whan i got it too!
-
cheers, I guess it's a 'try it and see' job. I'll try without the spacers first, if they're an inch wider i've a feeling a 6mm spacer is going to be a bit much... i like the euro look, not the dragster look!
-
:D ordered a bilstein 'streetline' kit yesterday to drop it 40mm, as for the alloys i think i'll eventually refurb them as the edges are quite scraped and theres a couple of small dents in one of them, as for polishing....hmmmm! i wonder....mirror polished borbet c's?
-
the wheels are 7.5" wide
-
I've just bought some borbets with a et35 offset, henny mentioned I'd need spacers to get them to fit 'flush' to the arches. I've ordered some 6mm ones from euro car parts, and I know i need longer bolts to make sure they're safe, but is 6mm about right for the spacers? anyone else running et35 with 6mm spacers? what do they look like? ta!
