  1. Mine was fitted by the bodyshop when i got the respray done, from what i can see its bonded to the slam panel with some white stuff! :? I've had no problems with it flying off at 100+ but obviously its not ideal becuase you cant take it off easily if you need to.
  2. finally going after the scum who deserve the fines! makes a nice change! I've seen the sort of setup olly described on the local news, along with a unmarked van full of computer equipment which checked every car that drove past and alerted a nearby patrol car which stopped the offender. IIRC they found a car that'd been used in an armed robbery by pure chance and arrested the driver!
  3. Only in fog or heavy rain where theres alot of spray about. As everyone else says, its really annoying when someone else dazzles you with their fogs, so I dont do it. I had a nasty experiance as a learner driving at night and being temporarally blinded by a car with full beam and fogs on which appeared around a corner, somehow I managed to be looking right into its lights. A dazzled inexperienced driver is not a safe thing!
  4. I've got a pioneer mp7400 in mine, bit less retro looking than the p77mp, but shares alot of the same features and its top banana! so many options to adjust the sound its unreal and a total dream if you're like me and like to 'fiddle' to try and get the best sound possible. I like the look of the p77mp over mine, it looks much more at home in a C. beeftech - you got that little remote thing too! mine hardly gets any use, i cant find anywhere on the steering wheel where its not in the way when driving, but is easy/comfortable to reach when you need it. :(
  5. yalan, those pics just make me even more eager to drop mine 8) very nice! not going for coilovers, I'm looking at bilstein streetline kits at the moment from euro car parts which seem to have a coupe of recomendations from forum members. bally, thats reassuring! hopfully i wont be running 15's forever :( got any pics of yours dropped 55mm? what springs/shocks did you use?
  6. yeah i thought I might end up doing that as the 90mm tends to catch at the standard ride-height!
  7. looks like i'll have the cash to lower my C soon, but I'll be running the standard 15's for a while yet. is a drop of 40mm going to be splitter-grindingly low or is it usable on a daily driver? anyone got pics or tales of joy/woe?
  8. :( looks like i'll have to invest in bilstiens then!
  9. I've just spotted the ventura springs in the GSF catalogue too....did you find out if thats what was on yours henny? at £54 they're tempting!
  10. yeah I saw them! 8) best just to link to that post if you can find it.... i was after better pics of that car specifically if anyones got them? looks like a really interesting ICE install, let alone the rest of the bodywork!
  11. anyone seen this before? -edit- damn it! ok, go here http://www.tuninglinx.com/html/pts04a.html 5th row down 2nd pic in. I cant even save it now, its just saying i'm trying to steal the image! -edit again- not as good as the first shot but i found this other one...
  12. well i suggested that, but apparently if i do that they wont issue my no claims certificate which i need for my new policy! I have no idea why. They also want me to send back the policy cover documents, which I havent even got yet!
  13. My policy with budget expired on the 9th, but apparently it automatically renews. I got in touch asking them to cancel it.... Budget woman: "sorry, the payment of £1106 is due to come out on the 11th and we cant stop it." Me: "WTF!!! ok, so can i cancel it with the bank?" Budget woman: "no, we need the payment before we can send out the proof of no claims" Me: "WHAT....!!! so i'll be refunded right?" Budget woman: "yes, on friday at which point we can send out the NCD proof, but the money will take 7days to get back into your account, but really you should have told us you wanted to cancel your policy" Me: "@!£$!!" ok i accept I should have canceled it (didnt read the small print  ) but come on, how can they justify taking out that huge a lump sum just to refund it? it really takes the pi**. The woman also insisted on trying to beat the price of the new policy...and came out £500 more expensive.
  14. i'm 25, been driving 3 years, got 2 years no claims although i wrote off my last car a year ago (protected 1 year no claims with last insurance) no points, and live in a fairly high rated area insurance-wise. cars a 1.8 16v with a manifold back exhaust, K&N panel and some body mods. oh, i asked about future mods (planning to lower it as soon as i have the cash) and the guy said it'd probably cost me about £40 on the premium 8)
  15. try http://www.greenlightinsurance.com/ Just got insured fully comp all mods declared for £800. best i could get anywhere else (fully comp) was £1300.
  16. Bucky Lasek - spoken like a true C owner! taken from this site http://expn.go.com/expn/globalx/2003/story?pageName=bucky_global_interview
  17. stolen hehe, yeah right, thats exactly the sort of thing him and bez would have done  wasnt there a footballer who had one and sold it on ebay a while back? name escapes me...
  18. sorted! new dizzy cap, leads and rotor arm on, bit of a panic when it didnt turn over which was quickly sorted by a tap on the starter motor then it was back to life! one good thing...its stayed clean since sunday! well chuffed now 8)
  19. thats lovely! looks utterly imaculate
  20. That rear bumper just reminds me too much of a giant flip-painted wheely bin.
  21. ok, hes been and had a look and proved my theory of "i know nothing!" the engines turning over, but not firing. He got it running by bump starting it, but it was misfiring and then died. Hes recomended I get a new dizzy cap, rotor arm and leads (HT leads?) and that might sort it, so well see!
  22. not as yet, i'm waiting for a mates dads mate (complicated!) whos a mechanic to pop over tonight to have a look, i didnt try hotwiring it, i'm really not that confident that i wont break things! I'll let you know though
  23. sounds like they're ok then, which is good news! 8) Dan, can they do that? surely if they accepted it when you took your policy out they cant suddenly change their minds?
  24. I've had a quote from them thats come in at £800 fully comp all mods declared, where as every other company i've tried (tesco, elephant and all the ones on confused) came in at around £1000 for TPFT. Has anyone delt with them before? its a stonkingly good quote but i'm a little wary becuase i've not heard of them and its 'so' much less than everyone else.
