That just looks....odd! I guess its functional though, it just doesnt suit the lines of the car. not a big fan of that grille either. twin turbo vr6 you say? hubba hubba!

nope! hmm, i think this is going to be beyond my decidedly lacking skills (ie none at all) I think I'll get someone who knows what they're doing to have a look because dispite your much apreciated advice, chances are I'll break something or fry myself! good job I've got the use of my dads car for a week, although I think the C might have broken out of protest for being neglected :?

right, i've just been out and tried 'tapping' the starter motor, with no effect. I also tried listening for the solenoid but couldnt hear anything. should it be fairly audiable? all i could hear was the ISV buzzing away! if theres no click is it a case of replacing the starter motor?
-
any tips on diagnosing it further? I've read hennys guide on ignition switch replacement and i'm fairly confident i can do that, but if its anything else i'm clueless!

I'd not started up my C for about 3 days, and went to move it so i could wash it today, but it wouldnt start. I can hear the fuel pump start and the ISV buzz, but the engine just refuses to fire. At first I thought it might be a flat battery but i've just tried to jump start it with no luck. All the electrics seem to be working as they should. I've done a quick search and found other people with simular problems, caused by the ignition switch. what do you recon?

Anyone ever done anything different with their Head Units?
chrishill replied to Shilakadaddy's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
I put sweets in mine! :) Might sound like an obvious suggestion, but what about a HU with a removable front? much less appealing to an oportunist theif if they're going to have to get a new face for the unit they just stole. -
what to do with my subs? suggestions please?
chrishill replied to Red=Fast's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
not only that, if they're designed for an enclosure you'll probably break them mounting them on the shelf! if you 'really' want to do that you need to be looking at free-air subs. You could always make your own stealth shelf, but in all honesty I doubt the sound quality would be as good. I'm sure the people who make the proper stealth shelves (name escapes me) make sub boxes that fit snugly to either side of the boot, that is, they're shaped on the back to fit the contours of the sides of the boot. Put some acoustic cloth over the fronts and you've got a nice hidden install and dont loose much boot space. -
i used wonder wheels for the first time a couple of weeks ago, i got the shock of my life when it started turning the wheels green! luckily it all washes of and ends up sparkly clean! before that i've used halfords foam stuff, which quite franky is pants.

Whats the fastest you have ever been in your Corrado?
chrishill replied to surfer.vr6's topic in General Car Chat
that'll be chrisvr6nos then! I've been lucky ( :?: ) enough to be in his passenger seat at 140 with plenty left in it, I've also sat in the ex-mr2 owners new (to him him anyway!) modded skyline gts-t while racing chris and he actually pulled away from it! supercharged vr6's are 'seriously' fast, it'll be even better once hes got the smaller pully hes been on about! -
Whats the fastest you have ever been in your Corrado?

just a shade over 125 on a slight downhill slope, and 120 on the flat, which it pulled up to quite nicely, 105 in 4th then up to 5th and quite an easy 15mph, but at that point it just gave up trying! I'm sure theres more in it, maybe its a faulty fuel pump or lack of enough oil pressure or something. I was quite supprised thats all i got considering my previous 1.6 astra topped out at 120 too, i'd hoped for a bit more! saying that the astra wasn't very happy doing that speed where as the C seemed to be enjoying itself! -
forget the cost of keeping the things on the road, corrado ownership is all about sitting in traffic with the window down and having a group of blokes the people carrier thing next to you shout over "Nice car!" 8) show me another sub 2k (in my case) car that gets that sort of comment without sarcasm!

nah the guy just lost a fiver somewhere in the car and desperatly needed a kebab! :)

This only started happening a few days ago, and seems worse when its wet, but that might be coincidence... First turn of the key from cold, it coughs and splutters, revs are unstable and around the 200/300 mark then it dies. turn the key again and it fires up and idles at just over 1000rpm (which is about right IIRC?) for the first minute or so of driving the car struggles, almost stalling, then seems to pick up and be totally fine! Could all this be down to the ISV? if so, is it easy to replace for a total novice? anyone done a how-to?

damn it, i saw 'pillow pods' and was expecting some sort of lady-bumps! guinea ping - isnt that the technical term for shooting the furry family pet out of a window by way of an elastic band?

Get the PAS belt checked. When I first got my 16v the steering was silly-heavy which i just assumed was the 'norm' then I took it for a service and they changed the belt which improved things massivly!

nice idea, I looked at your post in the for sale section, but £400 plus the cost of fitting the thing is WAY over my budget.

I've got a oil leak from the block, and my friendly local mechanic said it could either be the head gasket :( or a cam seal leaking oil which is running along the back of the head and dripping off the oposite side, but he needs it up on a ramp to be able to tell. Obviously if its the head gasket the heads going to be coming apart, so its the ideal time to change a few other things! All I've really thought of so far is changing the tappets to stop the nasty 'tic-tic-tic' when the engines cold, and skimming the head. The mechanic said it'd be a good idea to change the cam belt too as in his little book it recomends its checked every 20k but theres no figure for changing it. 3 questions really, is there anything else I should be looking at doing while the heads off (not cams - i'm poor!) whats a reasonable price for the work so i dont get ripped off, and will skimming the head make a noticable difference?

custom made hyperdermic needle holder in the glovebox, home chemistry set built into the boot and drivers side door-mounted extra large money-clip...... and i thought they came as standard!
-
:D  Its strange, the people that know what they are seem to act like they're a posh swanky expensive thing, and everyone else doesnt have a clue! I had to describe is as 'a sort of golf coupe which isnt really anything like a golf' to a uninformed female friend :(

I've done the same as chris CORRADO, all colour coded and red! got the rear numberplate surround done at the same time and ditched the bump strips. Personally i wanted to get rid of a few of the things I felt 'aged' the car. pics on my member gallery page lwhich theres a link to below. BTW chris CORRADO love the look of yours, that bumper is 8) stick some clear side repeaters on and some inpro/fk's on the back and it'll be

yup, that does my head in! also the way that the little sunroof wind deflector thing vibrates like bu*gery when i've got music on!
-
could be the petrol pump priming and just sounding like its coming from that dash?
-
 well if you can stick an ironing board on a saxo, then why not!

which car are they for, how much do they lower by and how much you after for them?
