    A few problems.

Jeez Paul, don't make me worry what ever you do!  Anyway, jacked it up when i got back from work. Drivers side front wheel bearing has gone somewhat AWOL! Of the road for a couple of days now till i can get it done!

    A few problems.

Hmmmmm. Seems to have started since the snow/ice. Lump of grit in the joint perhaps? gone through a knackered cv boot?? :?

    A few problems.

Seems to be related to road speed rather than engine speed so i've put it down to the drivetrain components rather than engine. Not surface rust on the disks though, a lot rougher than that, almost like a stone caught between pad and disk.
  4. What like? Future ClubGTI Worcs Megameets? :-P

    A few problems.

Actually ordered them from GS&F yesterday evening, so hat'll give me something to do at the weekend! Just this grinding noise which has concerned me a bit at the moment.
  6. It's not that it was taken away from TRL though Paul, TRL was taken from us!! That's why we've got to try and get our views across on how to make it better. It's almost like starting a new show (only this one has the already established name), they've got to sort out the area that they've got and the best place to put everything. If we all moan and run from it then it will die, but if we put our ideas in it can only make it stronger! I'll admit that the year at Wroughton was a failure and last years wasn't great, but it now has an ideal site we just need to suggest how to use it.
  7. Hearing some info on this, i believe that the invites were sent out to "clubs" rather than "forums". I don't know exactly how you can put a positive differentiator between them. There was also a lot of complaints last year about the club displays being too far away from the main show area and looking like a car park in its own right. I think this year they have tried to bring the club stands right into the show and it has therefore limited space. At the end of the day, this is still a new site for GTI International and a few things have to be tried before a happy medium is arrived at. TRL has been lost so we now have to make the most of the new location and support it where possible and give them some ideas of what you want to be done/seen at the following years event. Perhaps then you would get what you wanted! By boycotting a show altogether there's always the possibility that you'll loose it for good! I'll be there, as i have been the last few years. Maybe even on the ClubGTI Worcs stand (if we can get enough of us on there!)

    A few problems.

The new noise is like a rhythmic metallic grinding kind of noise, the thoughts going round my head are either CVjoint, collapsed wheel bearing or a warped disk. It only does it when it's properly cold (in the morning) and is quite an obvious noise when rolling to a stop. It doesn't really change if i brake but does disappear as the car warms up. Anyone got any other ideas? :? Cheers

    A few problems.

Oh the joys of the VR6!! Tyres have finally arrived, so they'll be going on this week sometime. Gotta get the tracking and camber done then (after i've replaced the top mounts). Which brings me to the next question....................the best place for a pair of top mounts?? Had a weird noise this morning seeming like it was coming from either the front offside wheel bearing or CV joint, so that's in need of investigation. Decided to get all this shit sorted now before i buy a house!
  10. I had the Supersport Goldline kit on my MK2 and like it a lot. The rears were found to be leaking just after i sold it, after 13months of being on the car, and were replaced under warranty by Performance Solutions (highly recommended, excellent service). Other than that, no problems! 8)
  11. lol, could do. Probably find i need one of those on a future car then though, then i'll have to go and buy another packet!

    A few problems.

Mine has a hole in the one box. Assuming its in the centre section, but it's the large box at the rear, in front of the back box. Would this be the £155 section? or is that just a back box? :?

what sort of prices are standard exhaust systems?? dunno whether to go stainless or keep original

    A few problems.

Decided to knuckle down and get some of the little niggles sorted on the C. I heard a new rattle today that i wan't too happy about, so i had a look under the bonnet. Didn't find any answers to it, but i did notice that my headgasket looked like it was weeping slightly on the airbox end. What sort of cost is a new head gasket?? Also could do with a new exhaust, and what seems like a slightly lumpy tickover sorted. Is this thing gonna start draining me or what???
  15. i used a top mount tool on the MK2, which was like a castellated socket. cost about 30 quid from Halfords in a pack of 4 which is useful..................................
  16. Tried mine out loads list night and all i heard was a buzzing from behind the dash, didn't make any difference to me!
  17. Currently got The Offspring - Splinter in there, but the glovebox contains 3 or more MP3 CD's each with about 10 albums on such as AFI, Metallica, Pennywise, NOFX etc etc etc. 8)
  18. Not actually got around to paying a full 12 months on mine yet as i ain't had it long enough, but ran a couple of online quotes through just to see how it was. 25 yr old 7 yrs NCB - Protected 4 points (SP60) Fully comp with £200 excess approx £700 On a standard 94 VR6. 8)
  19. Can't wait to see them fitted. I'm thinking of a set of these for mine but i'm not sure how they'll look with the aqua blue. Hurry with the pics!!
  20. Question is, how would i go about achieving an honest and driveable 300bhp? That is my long term aim if it's viable. Thing is, i need stuff that can be done in stages as i can't take the car of the road for any period of time and wouldn't be able to afford it in one shot. Starting with the cheap end, what stuff can you lot suggest?
  21. i was working on the thought of them getting rarer to be honest mate!! I'm gonna keep the old girl anyway, i got a tuning mission to go on with it. to hell with the cost!
  22. Green H plate 16V(?) on B4084 at Stoulton, a few miles away from M5 JCT 7. Every now and again a blackberry VR6 (L plate i think) heading towards Malvern over the New Bridge at Worcester around 10.30-11pm. G/F's mum saw a yellow C, registered VW 20 in Pershore on Friday.
  23. kuksool - you didn't come across as a w@nker don't worry. Bigg60 - Cheers mate. I must admit, i did try the same with a couple when i was looking for one. A case of, this is all i've got so this is what i'll try and tell them it's worth. In most cases it didn't work. I'm gonna keep hold of her for now anyway, but if the right offer comes along i may reconsider. Cheers for your help guys! 8)
  24. I understand this, i ain't no kid! I was just stating that there was one there for that price. That had no influence in the figure that i gave for mine. :-P That was just a price i gave when i consider the condition/mileage that it is in. The car is fitted with a Cat 1 Toad ai606, and is having a new air flow meter, top mounts, front tyres and a service in the next couple of weeks so would be absolutely top notch. At that price i may leave my ICE in too (£800 Alpine CD, PG amps, Infinity etc). If i seriously advertised this then i can't see that it'd be up for less than 6500.
  25. i'm in Worcs. Just feel that it's this sort of figure that i would need to justify it going. Local Auto Trader has just had an M plate green one in it with 77k on the clock for 7500 too. Feel that 5-5.5k is a bit of an understatement when you see ones with well over 100k going for around 5000!! I knew i'd get some slating for putting that price though!
