Thanks for the tip, can't be my issue though as rear wiper is working fine. Checked my ashtray and it does indeed light up with dash so going to use that for some cabin illumination :-)
-
Didn't realise the ashtray was illuminated, this sounds like a good place to start, cheers
-
well it looks like i'm in the same boat, new bulb but light doesn't work under any scenario! side note, is there anywhere I can get a 12v feed thats live when dash illumination is on?
-
so is it supposed to have power all the time and dragon has modified it or what?
-
i was just trying to find out who they are actually made by, some say Yuasa, some say Varta. Both good brands, if you look for reviews these batteries get good reviews. I'd have used it myself save for the fact I'd bought and fitted another batteru before i'd realised I could swap the old one, plus I got a higher capacity one.

hi, when should the glove box light come on. mine has a manual switch on it, but it appears to do nothing. does it get power when your lights are on or should it be all the time or just when ignition is on. will help me sort it if i know what needs to happen make the volts flow.. cheers.

My car came with a halfords battery that was goosed, I bought another and afterwards I thought I'd try and see if halfords would honour their 4 year warranty on the battery. Well blow me they did, even though I didn't have a receipt. So I now have, surplus to requirements a new battery. Pick up only for obvious reasons. pretty sure if memory serves me it is this model - will confirm later http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_264129_langId_-1_categoryId_165762 after £40, as i say brand new, straight from the shop into my garage, as I say they honoured the warranty even without a receipt so this could give you peace of mind for the next 4 years. i'm in Poole, Dorset

If you have not yet seen these, prepare to be enlightened!

lol, sadly in the pictures there is one strapped to a 2.0 vw engine! -
Oh dear, if the vr6 is struggling against modern competition I don't stand much chance in my lowly valves :( I care not though, I'm happy in the knowledge that my car is the very definition of cool (if a bit stressful wondering what might break every time I drive it lol)

Whether it fits or whether it works!?
-
well following on from my bro in law driving it and not encountering any problems, I also had a problem free drive to work this morning. That said i'm tempted to buy the pump anyway, you're right rack a bit tricky would need courier. I take it the pump is good condition / working and are they all the same? mine is 2.0 valver....
-
Can you let me know a price please
-
typical, mechanic bro in law came round and took her for a spin - no problems at all! of course im not gonna be lucky enough for that to be the end of it. will update in the morning when it does it on the way to work :-(
-
I think the only problem when turning right is a red herring. Thinking about where I drove I only made right hand turns! So let's take that out of the equation for now, any more thoughts? If it was a rack problem surely it would dodgy all the time? As I say, as at idle, lock to lock is perfect, smooth as butter
-
Yes level is mid way between min and max. Verified by tapping and opening to check. As I say all works perfectly sat idling....
-
More info If I sit idling I can turn lock to lock as much as I want and all is well. It seems at speed it is ok, though for obvious reasons I've not wanted to boot it. At low speed round corners, and seems to be only right hand corners I get the problem. This has now developed into it being not just heavy but notchy too. :(

Drove to work this morning, 10 mile trip, car driving (and idling beautifully), last two corners I turned though I nearly crashed as steering went really heavy I.e. no power steering. Battery light did not come on, power remained to everything, no squeal from anywhere. Parked in work had a look under the bonnet, all belts look good and are not loose. Fluid level is good. Drove home, again happened while at slow speed turning to park. Drove the remainder of the way home, 8 miles or so and no issues. Ideas anyone? Not gonna be related but the only fiddling I've done recently is removing snorkel from air box and refitting breather pipe that instead of going into the airbox was stuffed down the side of it. Thought the car was beginning to love me but it seems not. Was I stupid to think I could run a Corrado as a daily :-(

two pretty special cars you have there? good work so far!
-
so which if any came with black? for some reason i thought the early ones came with black, or am i thinking about mk2 GTIs?
-
Just wondering which colour front vw badge is correct for my c, black or chrome. Mine is an early 94 car but I think a 93 model year car. It has colour coded rear crrao badge with red 16v front and rear. Cheers!

Ok just got the boss free from the stearing wheel so no issues now the dodgy bolt it can be aligned correctly or will split if someone just wants boss or wheel. £30 for both or £15 each plus postage.

Just completed this modification. Hopefully the weather gets warmer to help give this a real test. Anyway just wanted to point out to anyone who does this to check the relay they buy before wiing up according the diagram. Check the diode direction as you might find you need to switch it around to compensate. Luckily I noticed this before wiring it in.
