  1. looks much better for the lowering. can't decide whether I like the headlights though, i think I do, but I reckon a black VW badge in the middle would look better and less fussy, there's too much going on there at the mo. red is best
  2. they all are though - as far as I know, no manufacturer has ever produced all red rears, so any you find will either be standard or crystals that have been spray tinted....
  3. yes, be careful you dont also remove paint though. be warned aswell that this is a place body shops may have used to paint to so you may find unwanted surprises underneath
  4. the right choice

    VW F1

i imagine they are waiting to see if they would be allowed to put a TDI in it...
  6. beautiful - you've done a really good job there mate
  7. another vote for keep them. as said the contrast of the dark black against the red looks great

    central locking

did you manage to sort it? just realised that if you're not familiar with the C you might miss where the CL fuses are cos they are not with the rest of the fuses. they are on their own just above the main fuse block. i had the very same issue as you, check all the fuses in the block and all were good. only after taking both doors apart to try and find the problem did i realise that there were some more fuses hiding in the dash, which had blown :censored:
  9. thats not the guy in essex is it? i think there is a fine line between too much carbon fibre and the right amount, im making it my personal mission to make it so there is next to no plastic on show in the whole car, using tastefull (imo) materials like flocking and alcantara and thought di-noc might be a good idea for the dash insert (i mean the plastic around the stereo, centre pocket, top heater vents, dial cluster ect) no the company doing it is signtech graphics in Poole - southcoast.
  10. hey mate - are you on TidyVAG? as you're on the southcoast, if you're not on you should join. Most peeps on their live in the poole / bournemouth area. I phoned KK the other week for a quote to respray my rado - looks like they did a good job. I've heard nothing but good things about them...
  11. its not cheap as it is very good quality but its NOWHERE near as expensive as the real thing!
  12. i also work in a school and am generally known as the teacher with the cool car
  13. sure - a whole bonnet of the stuff is too much - especially on a light coloured car (the guy above with his white mk2 is now selling the wrapped bonnet). didn't think just doing my spoiler was too much though. especially as I have a red car and the spoiler is the worst place for oxidisation and water marks making it look pink!
  14. are you referring to the Di-noc stuff? I currently have a spare spoiler at a signage place being wrapped, will post pics when its done. The guy doing it has already done a mk2 golf bonnet - really does look good:
  15. medium density fibreboard - type of 'wood' they sell it in B&Q etc. you want 18mm at least and one of the size sheets they do is very close to what you need to do a parcel shelf, so not much waste.
  16. agree, 6x9s always frowned upon by the ICE snobs but they are the cheapest way to dramatically improve the standard system, and def worth doing if you aren't going to fit a sub as no other speaker will extend as low as a 6x9. To me these aren't a crime, nor is chopping off the factory plugs to extend the wires - what is a crime though is chopping up your rear shelf - PLEASE just go buy some MDF and make yourself a new one - 18mm mdf will do the job and the speakers will thank you for being mounted on a nice sturdy baffle...
  17. so many to choose from but this is my current (and most recent) fave
  18. the vibes really do honk for the money. i have some vibe slick 693's in mine and even just off the head unit the sound very nice and go loud if required - were only like 40 notes aswell!
  19. doubt you'll need those - you tend to get the wires with sets of speakers so just use the last 30cm of them with the connectors on for the speakers to extend from the factory wires by the suspension turrets going to the crappy 6x4s!

    spare wheel

was thinking of the tyre weld/mini compressor option, as fitted in my touran but i've been offered a space saver for a fiver so its the cheaper option

    spare wheel

cool thanks for that. so by that reckoning if i get myself a space saver I should end up with a flat boot! (i've got an early valver)

i take it you have checked the fuses?

    spare wheel

in the process of figuring out and building my boot install - been looking for pics for inspiration. one of the things I have noticed is that the boot of my C seems to completely different to all others I have seen. They all look to have a flat floor to them, whereas mine has a huge spare wheel shaped hump in it, where, yes you guessed it, underneath lives the spare wheel. It is a full size sebring alloy. Is this unuasal? do most have a space saver, hence the flat boot? cheers all
  24. cheers guys i like the last shot too, but actually i agree more with your first choice of 2nd pic :)
