for sale top of the JVC range circa 2002. These were £500 when new, I bought this myself when it was on special offer £300 after lusting after it for months. I then sold it to my brother in law, who now has no further use for it. In that time I bought myself another second hand one as after trying other units none of them were a patch on the SQ you get from this thing. Anyway as I have one as well I prepared to either sell this with a black front and surround or silver front and surround. Both are made of brushed aluminium and look the dogs the silver front panel has a few scratches on the display but nothing major and certainly nothing that you notice when the unit is on. not shown here but i also have the carry case for the front. It will need a new cage. as it is not a 'modern' unit it doesnt do any of the fancy pants bluetooth shiz or ipod control, usb sockets or sd slot. BUT it does a front and rear AUX in so you can plug external sources into it. I've stopped using the CD player on mine and use it with my ipod in this way. the front is fully motorised, selectable viewing angles etc. 4x50w mosfet amp. 24-but Burr-Brown DAC. will play mp3 from CDs. front, rear and sub preouts all at 5v. 7 band EQ. illumination is red and blue with a white dot matrix display. it all looks as classy as it sounds. price is £50 posted any questions let me know!

Mechanic brother in law says that if the timing was far enough out to affect starting the car would be undriveable.
-
Ah still not sorted with immob removed. Have found now that if it doesn't start if I do what I now call the Corrado tango, putting car in 1st and rocking her back and forth a bit she will start! To me this means the starter has had it. However someone has suggested it could be a timing issue? Would incorrect timing stop the starter engaging properly and could it also be linked to my high idle problem?

not just low, looks like a toy car in comparison, looks even smaller than the polo!

t1r is a different beast to the px4 we are discussing here though.
-
This later connection, is it essentially still just a spade connector? As that is now all I have on my ignition wire so will I still be able to fit it on to this later type. So confused, I just want to know my car will start every time without having to do the Corrado tango with it each time to free off the bloody thing!

I guess I'm in the pottering about category but we all own corrados because of the handling so on occasion I certainly would push on through the corners. I never once felt anything but confident in those tyres. I've had yoko s drive and a312 ( think that's right) px4 better than both. The last set of tyres I had we're falken, and they were also very good. Must say though that if its ****ing down I tend not to drive fast and certainly wouldn't want to push my luck even with the stickiest of sticky wet weather tyres!
-
I had Toyo proxes 4 on a set of sebrings. I ran them as winter wheels and rated the tyres highly, never produced any scary moments. As has been said, they were also pretty hard wearing. I'd certainly have them again. I also rate falken 912

9A Idling Issues - still a problem, getting annoyed now!

Sounds interesting, is there an idiots guide available for that? -
That itch just cannot be denied, I spent 3 years holding it off but couldn't fight any longer! Wish I'd have had 5k to spend on one though!
-
Funny you should mention the connection to the solenoid. The one listed for my car shows this later connection, yet the one on my car at the moment matches the passat one which I guess is the earlier type connection. So in summary do you I'll be ok getting the passat 9a one and saving myself £20? Thanks as always!

hey guys, i'm going to buy a new starter motor as mine is on its way out. i've found some on ebay, new items. i've found one which does not list corrado 9a but does list passat 9a, the same seller has one that list corrado 9a but not passat 9a. is there really a difference? the reason i ask is that the passat 9a one is £20 cheaper? cheers

well heres an update, but first yes mine did that too, if you turned it off and on again, for a few minutes the idle would be fine before going up to 1000. ok so update. i did two things to my cars enginal area at the beginning of the week. First was to clean connections at the starter motor, second was to ditch the k&n panel filter and put a standard paper one in. Now, touch wood, since then my car has seemingly idled perfectly at what i'd class as a more normal 850 +/-50. i cant see that any of those two things would have affected idle! -
ah, that was me! I was very puzzled, mainly as i was only a couple of days into ownership and had forgotten about all the weirdos that wave at corrados ;-)

hey guys I don't do facebook but I live in Poole, Dorset (i think I went to look at Ray's car when he was selling it...)

i'm now thinking about sticking with the koni shock / spring set up i have inherited due a) ride b) money and c) the back is prob only a bit higher than i would set coils to anyway the front is far too high though so was thinking about just fitting some some lowering caps to get another 10-15mm. anyone know if these would fit: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vw-Golf-Mk3-Lowering-Spring-Caps-/151088808377?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item232d9841b9 cheers!

fantastic, looks perfect. the wheels are great too, love them in white, may have just decided what colour to do mine!

i had cheap coilovers on my first corrado and my golf cabrio, tbh I was always surprised at how good they were for the money. Ride wasn't too hard at all, tbh if anything both sets (one hot tuning, one raceland - prob both from the same factory!) could have been a bit stiffer. my current corrado has come on koni shocks and springs and the ride is very good, very flat around the corners. However it is still a bit high for me and I want to go lower so when the time comes I'll have no qualms about order a cheap set off the bay....

Great work! Really does make all the difference when all the engine bits are cleaned up and freshly painted. Love the modernlines, I think those and borbet a were just made for the c -

I just unplugged the isv (wiring harness) with engine running and nothing happened, no change to idle speed either way. Expected or does this mean isv is not actually doing anything anyway? -

borarob replied to Jamie's topic in General Car Chat
i've got some bbs rx2 16"x6.5 stacked in the garage awaiting a refurb, i think them being 4 stud might make them rare / desirable for us valver owners anyway...
