Sorry if I'm being a bit thick but my aux water pump comes on with the ignition but stops as soon as the ignition is turned off. Everything else seems fine and I've replaced every sender within the last few months. Should I be looking at the fan controller relays as the aux pump is defo working.

Anyone else laying the Rado up for the winter?

Apparently a good trick for the interior is some cat litter in a tray. -
Another Vauxhall for me, there seems to be quite a few on this thread! One of my ex's Mk1 Corsa. No power steering, no power, no style, no handling, awful car, the only good thing about it was the lack of thirst. My current girlfriends old Ka was awful too. Luckily it got flooded in Sheffield last year and she bought the Corrado instead!

G-ladersite.de do it. Cant remember exact address, they are very good if you havent used them before. Bought loads of stuff off them.

Right after looking at ETKA with a mate it appears I have part number N010263 in a bag marked with part number 535823555. So not only have they given me the wrong part but they have charged £4.73 for an 8 pence part. Will be on the phone in the morning. Cheers for your help again guys.

Yep it does look like a LHD car on etka. They've given me the nipple at 4.73 and that is the screw that goes in but not the other part number. It seems cheap at 8p for what it is? I'll give the other dealers near me a ring tomorrow and see what they say.

Can someone please help with an enquiry relating to this. I had my bonnet stuck shut and with help from this thread and the wiki managed to get it open. Then bought a new cable from someone on here but when fitting it the head came off the bolt that holds the cable in the guide. Is this part of a new bonnet cable or is it seperate. VW ordered the part that looks like it on ETKA but its just a guide and not the part that secures the cable (if any of that makes sense). Also if anyone has one they could post me for tomorrow that would be great! :notworthy:

Get some decent circlip pliers for a start. As for sealing you can always bond the oil seals in and use blue hylomar when you put the casings back together. I just use normal carb cleaner and a lot of soft clothes when cleaning mine out. Also put the casings in the oven and the bearings in the freezer when putting the bearings in, should plop straight in. Same thing with the shaft, put it in the freezer and put the bearings in the oven. Will make it a lot easier. Also a nice coating of Kluber grease on the internals will be good when you put it back together, not too much though.

Dump valves are a waste of time on G chargers imo. Boost return valve does a much better job as its what it was designed for.

Where's your ABS light then? I have the same switch but it is to the left of the headlight switch to the right of the steering wheel.

If you are insured with HIC take out their breakdown. I used it a couple of times for trips to Belgium when I went to Mania. It is very reasonable anyway and they will bring your car back here whatever happens to it if you so wish. They also will provide a hire car and flights etc and bring your car back seperately if its at the start of your trip or whatever. I specifically asked about the car coming back if I crashed it or anything as I didnt want it leaving out there when there would probably be lots of parts I could get off it, they said that would be fine.

A good trick is to stick your right indicator on as a bit of a nudge. Its not as aggressive as flashing people and seems to work for me most of the time. The problem I have in the G40 is that most people dont want to let an old polo pass them as they think they will have to overtake me again shortly. The worst thing I ever saw was when I was coming back up the M1 really late on a Sunday evening, it was completely dead. I was doing possibly a little over the speed limit on the inside lane on my own more or less. Next thing I caught up a cavalier in the outside lane going a lot slower than me so I just carried on the inside lane as I knew there was no way he would shift. How wrong was I, just as I had nearly caught him up he swerved across all three lanes right in front of me. To say I was a little upset was an understatement. If he didnt want to be undertaken why wasnt he using the inside lane himself, it was completly empty! Lane discipline in this country is absolutely appauling imo. Whenever I've driven in France and Belgium it seems to be much better.

Do you really need to replace the bearings even if you've just taken them off? Its a similar setup in the drums on the polo but you can re-use the bearing if its ok. Please excuse me if I'm being thick.

As my name suggests I have a G40, I'm on my second one now, sold my first to buy my current one off a mates Father (who is also on his third G). Bought the Corrado a week ago so a bit of a newbie round here still. Also got a Mk2 Golf driver but that is up for sale at the moment. I'm loving the Corrado at the moment though, completely different in the power delivery to the G but both brilliant in their own ways.

I picked up my Corrado last week and my sunroof tilts but wont slide. After reading this thread I've just gone out and tried manually sliding the sunroof and it slides manually perfectly but still wont slide on the motor. Am I to take it then that nothing is broken as such but just that everything is too tight and the motor isnt strong enough to slide it?

Sorry I didnt quite mean a complete shed for £4k but the last time I looked at Vr's they started at £4k! I've seen an auto for £2700 on the trader that looks decent so I'm going to have a look on Saturday. If anyone wants to have a look there are only 2 autos on there and its the blackberry one in milton keynes. Any opinions welcome!

First post here so hello to all first of all. Thought this was quite an apt post to start in with the question I have. What is a good amount to pay at the moment for a Rado? I'm after a VR but I need an auto. After looking round I've seen a couple (they arent exactly common) and 3-4k seems to be about the average price with just under or over 100k on the clock. What should I be getting for that sort of money, decent example or snotter?! Cheers
