Yeah thats going to boost his confidence isnt it. Yeah your driving is a bit poo at the moment so we are publicly going to question your ability in front of millions of people. I cant see him being there next season.

I've been asked to ask if Jack is going to be in attendance? -
We took our VR to the Isle of Skye last year, did over a 1000 miles in a week and it was fantastic. Some brilliant roads up there to really stretch the VR's legs on. Just about managed to fit all the camping gear in it too. Was comfortable and relaxing on the cruising motorway bits and fun on the twisty back road stuff.

I got mine today too.

I've just got a new one of these recently, glad I did. I'll put my name down for one if you manage to get hold of any. Is there any way to repair an old one? As said its a pretty shabby way to treat loyal enthusiasts to their brand and more than a bit worrying for us all. -
Nice one, I've just bought one for me and one for a mate here at work. Cheers for the heads up, looks awesome.

I believe that is Mr Envy's car.

Saw a blue (I think VR) on the M1 roundabout near Meadowhall, Sheffield at about 5:20 this evening. Went north on the M1 I think.

Was a good race but I agree no SC or rain and it could have been very difficult. I felt robbed watching when Hamilton hunted down Alonso and then just seemingly hit the turbulent brick wall, that’s the fundamental problem with F1 right there. Well done to Button, he could have still beaten Vettel if he hadn’t gone of when he put the new tyres on, which yes was a mistake but then he just got on with the job without letting it faze him. Everyone thought Hamilton would trounce Button this year (me included TBH) but I think that the calmer more experienced Button has a thing or two to teach Hamilton looking at the evidence on show there. Calm down Lewis, you arent doing yourself any favours at the moment. Was interesting to hear how many people said Bahrains boring anyway, if that is the case year after year, why do they still race there! Well we all know the reason really but it’s a joke imo.

Gutted for you. I bet its awful standing there watching it. Here are a couple of pics from an internal loom I pulled out of a polo I rebuilt. Someone had fitted bike carbs to it (badly) and the kid who bought it ended up giving me the shell because of 'wiring issues' amongst other things. How this didnt catch fire I've no idea, bearing in mind the black wire was under the carpet.

Nice one for asking this jim. I know what I'm doing the next time I'm under the car! Really annoying it is.

You've just gone down in my estimation - KFC = eurgh! Anyway, whats the best ferry company to get to the Isle of Man with? I've been quoted some big prices to get over there. As for the petrol I think its something we are going to have to get used to. I paid £1.139 for cooking petrol the other day so not too bad compared to some of you round here as of yet.

Me too, I'd love an RS200, awesome cars. Nearly right on the G's, it was two T reg ones and an S reg. The guy with the S reg has just signed up on the ClubG40 forum recently and a guy called Stuart has had one of the T reg ones for years. We still dont know where the other T reg one is. All sorts of rumours surrounded them including the Sultan of Brunei had them in his collection but never used them. They ended up in a Proton garage a few years ago of all places when they were first registered.

Probably a daft question but a VR Radiator that has a leak is totally scrap isnt it? I've got my old one and I'm sure I remember reading on here that they cant be recored, but just wanted to check before I tipped it. Cheers
-
Any idea what a good price would be for it? It was launched in 2005 but it was a £900 headunit!

What was the becker like? Are they good for SQ? I've just been offered a 7945 for decent money but the fact it can do so much puts me off a bit. I just want it to sound good but all the bells and whistles do attract me to an extent. Bluetooth pairing with the phone for example would be useful.

what did you have done Sam?? I'd rather not say how I did it but I gained a crease in the bonnet and there were the usual stone chips on the bonnet, also had a few knicks out of the bumper. I think there were two 5p sized chucks of paint missing. Also had a few scratches sorted on the rear bumper and dints removed from the rear panel inbetween the vw and Corrado badge are located (the sprayer said they are normally caused by people bouncing shopping bags into it with tins of beans in them as they place the bags into the boot, which sounded a reasonable explanation). He also did the top of the drivers sill for us as the guy who had the car before apparently had a limp so I can only assume used to put his foot on the sill as he was getting in and out and rubbed all the paint off it. They were quite reasonable in their pricing for what they did, and the job still looks good now, although unfortunately the car hasnt seen any polish since last year with all the other work its had done and with my other project, so quite looking forward to seeing it all buffed up again when the weather gets a bit better. They did say they liked to spray as little as possible though to keep as much original as possible.
-
I got mine on Saturday too. Top read Jim, you can tell a lot of effort has gone into it. Was funny reading Kip's article on the paintwork he had done. The sprayers are nice blokes though, even after all that went off in the article he still seems to like you Kip! Although I wonder if he was dreading doing another Corrado when I pulled up and said Kip recommended you! :D

That charger is fooked. If you want a rebuild kit get over to www.polog40.co.uk and PM PeteG40. He sells rebuild kits for the 40's, if you ask him nicely he might be able to supply you with the bits for the 60 lader. I'm not 100% but cant hurt to ask. I change the small timing belt on my lader every year just as a service item. They cost around £12 and for the sake of that and an hour its not worth risking it imo. Its a bit late on that one though! There is a lader rebuild guide on matey-matey too as I recall. Good luck.

Obviously not I'd say.... what exactly was done - engine rebuild?? basically everything but; charger stage 4, pulley kit, stainless mani and jetex exhaust system, top mounts engine mounts, sensors etc etc. about 2k's worth!! so he is left with the engine itself really, and looks like thats all going to be done  Whats the pulley kit they've done? Do you mean just a smaller pulley?

We'd have been up for this but still got issues with our gearbox and we went to Skye on holiday last year. Its a bit far up but if you get chance go, some ace roads and the scenery is awesome. Lovely place. -
I got one of these for my birthday and its a fantastic bit of kit. Worth buying some converters for the ratchets but apart from that its well worth the money.

Is there an early and late TPS then do you know? I dont have two plugs to put into the TPS only one and have a different part number for my TPS than the one listed in ETKA for an auto. Getting there cheers Hasan. The TPS has certainly changed the behaviour of the issue I was having so quite happy its that now, I just think I've bought the wrong one!

Not sure if a mates got one in his shed. I'll ask and let you know if he has if you still need one. Some stuff from the dealers is just a ridiculous price but then sometimes they surprise you with how cheap it is and I've even known them to be cheaper than GSF for some stuff. Saying that too I've got to go back to GSF tomorrow to take back a pair of rear brake cylinders that they gave me wrong ones of last week despite me giving them the reg number of the car they were going on. Highly annoying when you've got the arse end of the car up in the air.
