FenderSi at 2:15pm today entering Worthing on the A27.

That's a nice looking car JIM. My G60 is also on 16" Borbet C's for winter as they are so easy to keep clean. Sadly no pic.

And thank you for the fast payment.

Parked up today by the side of the A370 Weston road from Bristol near the junction of the M5 a late Midnight Blue(?) on some very clean alloys. Looked very nice.

Yes for the late dash take the switch looms for the ABS, HRW & Fogs. They are different between early and late. Also take the headlight loom. Your early one should work but nice to have a spare. The early slider heater controls will fit in the late dash but you'll need to make a plate up to fit the bigger gap of the later dial controls. Unless you take them too. And when you take the late dash out take the fixing bracket at the bottom that fits to the transmission tunnel.

When main beam was stuck on in my car I found it was faulty headlight switch.

Do a SEARCH on here. It's been done many times before and you should find all the answers to your questions. But briefly: Early/late leccy window looms are the same, it's just the switch plugs that are different. You can chop/modify your early ones with the late plugs. Early/late mirror looms and plugs are different. You can again chop/modify your early one with a late plug but it's not as simple as the leccy window ones. I think there's an extra wire in one of the looms. For heated seats you'll need the loom and relays. Loom goes from fusebox to the back of the switch on the dash, down the passenger side sill, across the tranny tunnel to plug into both seats and you'll find it ends behind the passenger side rear door card. Loom does unplug into two parts behind the passenger dash area. Early/late seat switches are different but not sure if they use the same loom.

If it's never been done then it's probably very tired by now so yes, you should see improved performance from it once it's been serviced. Same way you would see improved performance from your engine once that's been serviced.

Did that because you keep "killing" other ones! That made me chuckle, Josh!

Yes and I'll deliver the lot to Nottingham for that too! :)

Looking good. Nice to see another one being saved. Oh and let me know if you need any black trim as I have the whole lot available.
-
I have a black handbrake cover if you need one.

A good while back I had an early Euro LHD headlight switch. One less metal prong and the L shape around the wrong way. Tried to sell it on Fleabay but had no takers in Europe so when mine died I just broke the L shaped plug off that one and used it fine with no problems.

I drive a 1.8 16V as a daily but then I'm old enough to get real cheap insurance and I have a few spares lying around in the garage should (when) things go wrong.

They just don't look the same.

Website now working.

G-Werks or JMR. Both based in Littlehampton, West Sussex. Both been around for years.

The full light loom from the engine bay? Not sure if they are different but I still have it from the car the main loom came from.

Recently on here Butterfly suggested a battery maintainer. I cannot remember the name of it but she will point you in the direction of one.

Is every owner of this car a dab hand with a camera? :) Looking good, glad the bits got you sorted and you're enjoying the drive. And I like what you've got in your garage. Wish I had one.
