  1. I'd put a few pennies on you having an early car (pre '92) with an early bumper and early fogs/indicators. I don't believe the grille/mesh bit did change through the life of the car. Early/late, they are both the same. Same as the bumper iron that the plastic bumper clips on to. It's just my gut feel. I have nothing to back up my theory :)
  2. Yep I reckon you have an early bumper.
  3. Saw two today within 30mins of each other. A low burgundy one on a private plate A2??? entering Worthing westbound on the A27 at approx 11:30am this morning. And a trick looking white one on an H plate in Shoreham westbound on the seafront road near the lighthouse at approx. 12:00pm.
  4. Look at the swage line that runs along the bumper. Where it meets (just before) the front wheel arch it will either turn up into a hockey stick shape (early bumper) or stay horizontal (late bumper). Same for your rear bumper.
  5. Boy at that price just buy 2nd hand.
  6. I would suggest that you contact one of the charger experts out there, G-Werks or JMR to name a couple. If your little belt has gone it may have done some damage to the internals of the charger. Don't just stick another little belt on and fire it up as you may do even more damage.
  7. Me? I would spray the whole car black. Matt black even. It looks mean and I think black all over would suit it.
  8. ive not been on this thread before, thanks...I forgot, did you get a free t shirt? Yes my kid has a new top and toilet paper :)
  9. I am not 100% sure but I thought only the straight pipe from the manifold was the same. The middle and back boxes are different? Please get a second opinion though.

    Air leak

If a Mod coms along and sticks this in the Engine Bay section then you might get some more replies but I know there is a pipe from the ECU to the back of the throttle body area. There is a second pipe but I can't remember where that goes.
  11. And thanks to Kempy for the parts and the funky way of packaging them :)
  12. If I was going to look a it I would let the engine warm up in the drive and then take it for a long test drive. If the seller is happy for this to happen then chances are there are no problems with the engine or cooling. If he says no then does he have something to hide?
  13. Sorry Paul but all I can think of is to give the electrical connectors/connection on the wires into the header tank a good clean.
  14. Well there are no clips holding the stiff black tube in place on my 16V. The really rusted thing is your accumulator. Don't know the name of the rusted pipe but I believe it goes from your fuel pump to your accumulator.
  15. For your main beam problem just replace the indicator/main beam stalk. Easy to do and won't take too long.
  16. Big miles and people will be asking questions about the engine and what work it's had done. On the plus side it's taxed and has a long ticket so I'll have a stab in the dark at £1750.
  17. Saw FenderSi at 7pm this evening. He was sat at the Lyons Farm lights in Worthing.
