  1. i prefer brazillian... but thanks...
  2. yeah... i was thinking that... tho they are a bit pricy... so they will be one of the last things i do... bushings and poweder coating is the 1st thing i want to do...
  3. it's not like i didn't believe you Kel! It's just always good to get a 2nd opinion... or as many as you can get! lol
  4. Followed a Blue valver down the A331 yesterday at about 18:20 to the A31...
  5. cheers for that... well thats a fairly good 2nd opinion then... yeah it was my intention to get the whole car done at once... when you say.... Do you mean the stock stuff all around, or so long as it's VAG on the others it should be good... so TT Bushes would do?
  6. hmmmmm... i'll ponder on this a lil more...
  7. a harsh ride will be had with these mate  but wot ever you want :D well i'm told that OEM bushes are good for the rear axle and that TT bushes are good too... but then i've heard lots of good things about powerflextoo... sooo... i'm open to recommendation... i'm not too bothered by the ride if it handles well... do you lose the passive rear steering with anything other than OEM on the rear axle?
  8. yeah i got it back but unfortunately my budget had run out by the time they had finished with the ABS! :( at least i know what it what it could be now tho... i'll let you know what they find when it goes back in...
  9. Right... so after Sundays RR day at Stealth, now that i know that the engine and transmission etc are running sweet i can move on to better things! I'm looking to restore as much of the car as i can... i know that my rear bushes are on they way out... So i'll probly get the whole car rebushed... (would be nice with powerflex all round! :luvlove: if anyone knows where i can get em for a decent price, let me know) while doing the bushes i recon i'll get the subframes, front arms and steering rack sandblasted and powder coated would be nice to get the car lowered slightly too... ppl keep telling me to get coilovers... so if i do then it'll be KW V1s... any more advice on this would be sweeet! I'll probly stick in a rear ARB along the way... EVENTUALLY i'll also get some bigger speedlines and decent brakes... but the above is my priority for the moment... there are also a few things that need doing in the engine... have a couple of oil leaks... nothing major... power steering pipe needs replacing... and a vibra-technik front engine mount would be nice also! so mainly just a clean up of the guts!... i have sweet FA when it comes to knowing how to do any of this, but i'd still like to do it myself, so any advice would be reeeeeally cool! and if any locals feel like helping out along the way, i've no objection to that! i'm sure i could sort yall out with a brew or 2 as a thank you! :shades:
  10. As above Kris, they are brilliant! I thought for a long time about going for Weitec GTNs but I'm very glad I didn't now. I haven't driven a car with GTNs on so obviously I can't compare, but I do know how fantastic the V1s are. I decided to spend a bit extra, partly for the better materials and good reputation of KW but partly because I didn't want to look back and regret not having gone for it! You going to the next No Rice? ...and to everyone who is thinking about getting KWs, do it! I'd be amazed if you regretted it :D[/quote:ewze1648] Quite possibly... is it on the 1st or 2nd weds of the month? i've not been in aaaaages... i'm talking since the fleet services no rice! you going?
  11. Looked really good yesterday fay! was talking to charlie yesterday about what suspension to go for when lowering the C... he recommended the V1's that you have... what are they like? i'm tempted to get them after seeing urs...
  12. The same thing happened to me about a year ago... the car cut out in the middle of a T junction... :epicfail: managed to rev the pipes clean... wasn't anything serious, thank god... i've been keeping an eye out for road rivers ever since!
  13. My engine got buggered in the start line, so i pitted.... :( 4th weren't too bad tho...
  14. me too! sadly this is the only pic i have seen of a rado with them on  see... even on that... stunning!! i WILL have those 1 day...
  15. YEY - to this thread! i love speedlines! i want the infamous 17" versions!!! :notworthy:
  16. i'm speechless.......................................................... oh bless his lil cotton socks... he's only simple... look ------------------------>
  17. I was doing that for the 2 and 1/2 years i had the car till i locked up and almost went into the back of a corsa the other day... that pukkered up my ahole! so i decided to send it to Jason... actually... i'd recomend him to you mate... he's in croydon... Mayday Auto Center just off Addiscombe Road...[/quote:ajs231mw] I know the one mate, I work on the next road along! That's a bit of a freaky coincidence considering you live in Fleet.[/quote:ajs231mw] Yeah, i've always sent my cars to him... the guy is a legend! if you go past you might see my motor sitting in the car park or the road... i heard back form him just now... it's all up and running!   I used to live in Kingswood, which isn't too far from there to get a decent mechanic... but i don't trust anyone else... i will always take it to him...

  20. OK, so my ABS has not been working for a while now, and decided to take it to my mechanic to finally get it sorted... he has looked at the car a while ago during the yeah and said that the rear sensor rings where not even there! i knew there was an issue with the ABS for a while so i managed to find a cheap ECU and Pump on the forum just in case these had issues... i put these in the boot just in case he needed them... got a call yesterday with a message left... "Kris, your ABS is on absolute f*ckaries! give me a call back" So i call him back, find out that the ABS wiring loom is buggered on the drivers side and VAG computer is showing an ECU fault... ECU replaced, now Pump is showing a fault... luckily i had both the ECU and the pump... phew... so i said go ahead and replace the loom and that should be the end of it... replaced the pump and loom and calls back... "your front passenger side sensor is showing a fault now..." argh! he said it wasn't showing it before he replaced the pump so there could be a problem with the 2nd hand pump i baught... but we won't know till i replace one part or another... so i've told him to replace the sinsor... thats another £100 on the bill... hopefully it's all working after that! well i just needed to vent... i should get a call from the doc later today... wish me luck!
  21. ahh thats sh*t luck mate... we'll get her back! how much do you think a MK5 Golf VW badge is worth these days? ;)
