  1. Yes sir, fuse removed entirely. The spoiler doesn't particularly bother me either Goldie but it does bother me if it's not working correctly! I'm sure a person of your calibre can fathom it all out!
  2. This is the prototype replacement cat back for dubpower James. I for one am looking forward to the end result and the more input dubpower receive, the better the final product.
  3. Not quite goldie, it's a big job in all honesty but if you know your way around a socket set you'll be fine. You need to remove the entire mechanism and strip it on the bench. It's not complicated but it'll make sense as you look at it. The worst bit is how the wiring is intertwined with the assembly. Once on the bench it's just 3 bolts and nuts and a few clips to strip most of it down. 2 more bolts and nuts in each jack to completely disassemble it. I used lithium grease in the cable guides and a bit of castrol lm grease in the gears. Don't go mad with the lm grease as that's counter productive. I had an old pipe cleaner to clean the large amounts of crud out of the guides. The main problem with mine was a 20 year old thermal fuse that was overly sensitive and would keep interrupting the movement. I de soldered it and put a small wire in its place. The whole system is fused to protect it so not really a problem and it's there only because the Germans love to over engineer stuff.
  4. I've got some ch's if you fancy a change you may recognise them!
  5. Mine wasn't fitted at the time.... Might be a common theme here!
  6. I believe so but if not, banjo bolts are easy to find. The conversion kit for the Goodridge Braided conversion hoses come with 2 different pitched sets of bolts.
  7. The brake calipers and carriers themselves do but the discs have a different offset. You need to get the 288mm discs from a late Mk3 Golf Gti or VR6. They have the right offset.
  8. Top right, position 6 number on it might be 21. It should give an audible click when activated. Normally quite reliable but do fail. Make sure it's fitted properly and the contact aren't corroded. Cheap enough from vw if you need a new 1.
  9. Isn't it Ja?! I was born in Durban and lived out there until I was 12. Kinda miss it but life was not as secure as being in the UK.
  10. Well todays fixings included the stuttering spoiler. It was going up in stages so whipped out the thermo fuse, bypassed it, re lubed everything with LM Grease in the gears and Lithium grease in the cables and all is quiet, smooth and back to normal. Exciting eh! Maybe I'll look at the sunroof next?
  11. Persevere with it, no need to get medieval with it. It will come out. No tips really except I found it easier to remove with the brake master cylinder removed. No real need to remove it, just how I found it easier.
  12. The 15s are 58mm I believe where as you need 60mm to fit perfectly
  13. Sorry mate, I looked at these for you but they are too small for your wheels. If they're for your 16s that is.
  14. Big Dave and his mate Mikey muscles?
  15. Mine does it occasionally, but only if I ride the clutch a bit climbing a hill in traffic. I put it down to a piston seal wearing and sticking a bit. Not much difference between the mk2 and corrado mechanics so I'm sure you'll be ok. If a heater matrix doesn't bother you. That tends to be the scariest job for a lot of people.
