Sent my charger to g-werks on 8th June with next day delivery... It's now 25th and it's still not back. They got a bit held up porting it but I paid them last Friday and it was apparently sent back on Monday so I'm starting to get a little bit concerned... I've kept ringing G-werks and they have said they will chase it up but the tracking number they have isn't working  I'm not having a go at G-werks, I'm sure there was a good reason why it took a while to get the work done and I know how good their rep is, but I just wish they'de give me some info from the courier- who seems to be taking the p**s... at least 4 days so far for a 'next day' delivery service is crap! More worryingly it might have been lost. I'm sure it's insured but how long will it take to get another one into my car?! Anyway I just felt like a rant as it's my daily and it's been out of action for nearly 3 weeks now, and I'm supposed to be going to cornwall tomorrow :mad2:

Exactly- as much I love my car and want to keep as many as possible going, if I had the choice selling for £1k or scrapping it for £2k, I'd take the £2k!! Not that I will, as buying a brand new car seems crazy at the moment...

I had on before my G60 and agree with most of what you said apart from the unreliabilty. It had 185,000 on the clock, had been badly neglected in the past, but was still very reliable. I had one issue where it concked out in the summer floods a few times, but for a half hour or so. I sold it to a mate and it's still going, must be a fair bit over 200,000 now! And although I now realise it was slow, I had upgraded from a Rover 114 so it seemed quite nippy then  -

Haha nice one, too bad the penny dropped eventually! This way of dealing with them is much more fun than anything else  This soundboard got me into to all sorts of trouble when I was young, some great quotes on there! -
Ye it's awesome to see a rado flying like this! :notworthy: Looks nice and subtle too, must be fun on the road!

The quick answer is, look at this and scroll down to the bottom for G60 http://www.g-werks.com/Site/Default.asp ... ces_tuning Gives you a rough idea of sensible stages. An Oil cooler and Front Mount Intercooler would help after stage 1 too.

White C near Alverly on Bridgnorth-Kidderminster road today, driven by a lady. I went to hammer the horn enthusiastically till I remembered I was in the missus Corrola :(

Bolt grippers picked up today and charger now on it's way to G-werks! Agreed- Great bit of kit those. Had a struggle getting the loose charger out of the bay as I didn't take the alternator off and I have my rad very far over because of an FMIC. It would have been easier if I'd taken the pulley off- so I'll ask what is probably a dumb question- how do you stop the pulley spinning in order to get the nut off? If it had been anywhere else I'd have been getting busy with mole grips- but I'm a bit :camp: with the charger cos I know how delicate they are!

I agree, for £10k get a low mileage mint rado, chuck some insane engine and 4WD on it and have more BHP and fun than any ford could ever give you... Or something else interesting like a V8 turbo capri

On this subject- Assuming you want to buy a new car regardless of the scheme, what's to stop you going and buying a £50 banger from a garage/scrappy, driving it down the road and effectively selling it for £2000 when you get a new car? Do you have to have owned the 10yr old car for a certain length of time?

Taking my charger out to go to G-werks, got everything out apart from this bugger: 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdf100_1953.JPG[/attachment:16jmza07] 100_1951.JPG[/attachment:16jmza07] Any ideas on the best way to tackle it seeing as it's in such a tight spot? And where is the best place to get the stuff needed? I really need this off tomorrow as I need it serviced and back on ASAP :mad2:

OK, I'll nip to the dealers and get some genu-ine ones, ta for help

I'm gonna replace the flanges on the front and side of engine as they are p***ing all my expensive G12 away! Especially the one on the side. Would these 2 parts be OK from AVS, or do I need other seals and stuff to sit between them and the engine? Can't really see what's in there at the moment, looks like someones used liquid sealant/glue type stuff on them? http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info. ... cts_id=662 http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info. ... cts_id=658

I'm finally taking it off to post down this week. It's been getting more and more sluggish and I can't even get wheelspin in 2nd when I floor it now :mad2: which I used to get in 3rd! Is there anything I should know about taking it off and putting it back that might catch me out? I'll be following this http://www.matey-matey.com/g60-rebuild-article.shtml as I've not done it before. Also, anyone know how much a G lader weighs? I know it's prob been asked before but couldn't find it.

Awesome car! I think the wheels look mint as they are. red on dark Cs is nice in little bits- badges, lights, calipers, but too much spoils it!

Might not be down to dodgy respay, my Tornado Red MK3 turned a horrid shade of pink. I think that was just down to neglet/ abuse the previous owner (I worked that out from the moss on the roof and huge rust hole in the back!)

I'm with Brentacre, more than £100 cheaper than AF, and I haggled the AF quote down a lot. They have a 'BHP limit' where you don't have to keep altering your policy until it goes over a set BHP. And yes, when I called HIC, I was put through to the AF automated system :cuckoo: so must be same company... Although it cost me a lot, I got my own insurance as soon as I passed for that reason. Now I've got 4 yrs NC it's making it slightly cheaper to insure silly cars like G60s! Even in your circumstances, seems massive cost for a 16V.

Nugget next to Sainsbury's petrol station in Shrewsbury today, I was in the black Hilux trying to get on to that roundabout, swearing at all the drivers using their infamous 'Shrewsbury Indicators'...

Good to know there's another C in Kidderminster, wish there wer more meets and stuff around our way :( I'll keep an eye out for you!

I doubt it's related to another problem, just another lovely thing to fail on your Corrado. Although my pipes are ok, just about all the joining points and flanges are leaking a bit on my G60. I have to top my coolant up about every 500 miles. Just another thing on the 'to do' list :mad2: Keep going with the pinking problem, I'm sure you will get it sorted eventually and love your C again! I would suggest getting it to Jabba/Stealth/G-werks for some expert advice but I guess that's no good where you are...

Dark C in worcester last night near the odeon, about 11pm, stood out a mile in the sea of noisy tasteless clios and saxos!
