  1. That's awesome. Has it used a normal VR6 as a starting point (obviously very modified)? I've seen that red victor loads before, I can't believe it's road legal!
  2. I was thinking black for mine too :D
  3. That looks great, you've got the same colour as me and I'm thinking of doing my stroseks colour matched like that :) I also have a hammered set of 17" multispoke TSWs. They are nice wheels but all kerbed, buckled and generally f****ed. Hoping to get some quotes for sorting them out as it's way beyond my skills
  4. Maybe it was from one with an ultra rare Karmann interior?
  5. Good work. We used a similar method on my G60 while it was at DG a while back, but we used an aerosol instead to block it off  funnilly enough I had to hold it while we tested the boost and Dave and Graham hid behind a table
  6. Dark VR passed me on Roman Road in Shrewsbury today, gave it a flash but I was in a white Defender :( Missus got overtaken by a white C today in Kidderminster, sorry she was driving quite slowly- she had my parrot in the back who is a nervous traveller
  7. I agree but I do know some chaps building a 500+bhp rado that is FWD
  8. It could be one of those celeb C owners like JK from Jamiroquai aka 'the twat in the hat'!!!
  9. If you like the whoosh on gear change but not the whistling on half throttle, there are a few options. You can cap the boost return on throttle body off and run a dump valve (very loud on gear change!) or you can stick a pipe on the TB and vent it off somewhere to muffle the whistle a bit. Putting the sieve type bit from you boost return system in the pipe can help to muffle it too. They had a G60 engine like this at DG, out of golf track car. Apparently the pipe was vented straight out of the bottom of the engine bay, so if you parked it on dusty ground and revved the engine it started little dust storm!
  10. Glad to see you held on to this, it's looking great! I'm not far from you but I've never seen it- hopefully I'll get to some shows this year and have a closer look at a G to put mine to shame :(
  11. Speaking to the guy I bought it off, the guy that commissioned the work spent in excess of 30k for labour and the parts. Also when I took it to the Phirm to chat with Tim about the brake upgrade he spent about 4 hours scanning round the car and agreed with said costings :gag:  so the price I paid suddenly becomes good value :pale:  Wow... I had a feeling it may have been about that. Even more suprising it got passed on that quick, I can't imagine spending that kind of money on a totally unique car and then selling it on for a lot less  At least someone gets to enjoy though and it wasn't broken
  12. Always nice when you find old stuff about your car :D Just out of interest, any idea how much it cost the prev owner to have a garage do that kind of work on a C and come out with that much power? Most VRTs seem to be done by owners who know their stuff and build them bit by bit, I can't imagine it's cheap to get it done on someone else's time
  13. I can see both sides of the argument here. I work for the council and see how tough jobs like this are and how much stick council workers get, always with the line 'I pay my taxes'. I always remind people that council workers pay their taxes too! However I would say give the claim a go. Send a letter with loads of photos, maps, times dates etc. and you may get something back. I'm not saying the gritter driver did anything wrong, but the council will have a set procedure for this and will either say yes or no, so it's worth a go. They do budget for claims so the money may be waiting. And regarding insurance, I know I'm a few years older than you guys but AF quoted me about £400 more than Brentacre, who I went with. So maybe give them a go next time.
  14. Bit of a wierd one, but I spotted the back end of this VR6 in an episode of Alan Partridge! Image023.jpg[/attachment:2oyu2vei]
  15. That's fine by me- I doubt I'll feel confident enough to push on the corners but I do want to feel the power! Fast and wildlife friendly! I like it. I'll let you know my thoughts when I've done it, I imagine summer is the most sensible time.
  16. Ye, I saw you reccommend it in another thread. Just hope I'm confident enough to push it as the G60 is the fastest thing I've ever driven! And I've never done a track day or anything like that. Think it's about time I got on a track as I got pulled and told off by the police for the first time ever the other day :nono:
  17. I'm hoping to get one partly as a birthday present this year. I would really like to do the GTR and R8. Just wanted to ask what the best companies to go with are? The best value one looks like this: http://www.everymanracing.co.uk/experie ... ce-weekday as most of the other ones with 2 cars are £200 plus. BUT I have heard some people say they have been held back by the instructors from going fast :cuckoo: and use hammered cars with loads of faults. So I didn't want to shell out £140 and feel ripped off. Any ideas which companies let you rip in their cars and have the best tracks etc.?
  18. You could try changing the bulbs. But mine went through with some HID look bulbs in, and the ring bit is kinda blue I guess. So it could just be down to the tester.
  19. Red rado in Harlescott, Shrewsbury today, got a wave
  20. Why did you move?! I love it over there, hoping to go and work in Sanibel for a while in a year or so :) My parents separated when I was pretty young. My Dad is American and my Mother is English. I moved back with her. May go back there one day as I still have citizenship. It's pretty cool to think I can go back whenever I want if things go completely wrong here, which is a distinct possibility if recent events are anything to go by! My Dad lives in California now. That is lucky. I think I'm going to have fun getting a visa, and their immigration is always fun at airports :hitler: Edit: Sorry I mean lucky you have dual nationality, not that your parents divorced... :brickwall:
  21. Nice to see some Gs so far from home! Why did you move?! I love it over there, hoping to go and work in Sanibel for a while in a year or so :)
  22. K reg, green, on speedlines in Leswell Street in Kidderminster on NY day. I was looking out of a window in a daze after a night of excess :pukeright:
  23. I asked the same thing a while ago. If you're very patient and don't mind bending a screwdriver to get at it, then it is possible. But I took it to DG and Graham did a 'secret move' with a mallet  had it out in 5 mins!
  24. Nice car, have you got HIDs in those inpros? They look quite white
