Clint Eastwood Dirty Harry Canvas for sale - bargain!
gregulate replied to gregulate's topic in Ebay and Misc
Thanks - my surname is Greig (pronounced Greg) so it kind of makes sense.......... -
Up for sale is my Dirty Harry Magnum Force canvas print bought from Habitat a couple of years ago for £75, and sadly does not go (according to my gf) in our new flat. Its the one on this link, and in excellent condition. 700mm x 700mm x 45mm deep. http://www.cinedelica.com/2007/06/magnum_force_mo.html Only looking for £25. This does not include postage as would prefer it to be collected purely because of risk of damage in transit. Can get courier quotes though if you'd like. Any questions let me know. Cheers, Ian.........

Dream corrado! Nice car mate......

Have just seen this on the Volkswizard website. Looks like a really interesting car, subject to an extensive mechanical rebuild although he seems to have avoided using OEM parts which is a bit odd. Still could be interesting to someone if he puts it up for sale............ http://www.volkswizard.co.uk/carsforsale/n950yhp.htm

Lol, yes a '93. The red clashed horribly with the green paintwork as well :-)
-
No, I had a red badged vr with a coilpack rather than a dizzy.......

Your in for a long search I'm afraid, as there are few very tidy and straight valvers left. I looked for months trying to find the same thing and eventually bought a battered but good 'do-er-upper' 8v for peanuts as there was nothing else about. Just need to get round to finishing doing it up now.........

If I'm spending £30k on a V8 then give me one of these every day of the week.........OK so its used but at least the engine should be bedded in. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2391826.htm My best mates just gone from a mk5 to a mk6 and reckons the 6 is waaaaaay better. The looks have grown on me now and I think its a really handsome car, but there's no way I could justify £30k on an 'r'.

Your employer can cap the amount they pay your gf at the statutory redundancy entitlement if they choose, which is £380. Here's a good little tool you can use http://www.direct.gov.uk/redundancy.dsb . This will calculate the minimum redundancy payment due, and the employer could obviously give more if they wanted. Also you should be paid in full for any notice period in your contract, so the longer they hold out giving formal notice to terminate her job the better.

Welcome  and get some photos posted! Try vee w services in bedminster, I'd definitely recommend them....http://www.veewservice.com/ where about in bris are you?

My boss is trying to buy a Citroen DS and came across this website on his search. I just thought some of the cars, detailing, projects and photography were awesome so thought I'd share the site. Some expensive pieces of kit, but check out the Karmann Ghia and Mark 1 build threads. http://www.eclecticcars.co.uk/index.php

Speeding in residential areas really pi55es me off, theres no need. A guy down my road in a S500 (reg V8 GKA if your interested - I'd like to name and shame him) drives like lewis hamilton every time he gets behind the wheel, in a 30 zone, around schools, in rush hour, overtaking at speed in town, the lot. He's in his 40's with a family and frankly should know better. Otherwise theres good and bad drivers everywhere, both sexes, all ages, all backgrounds. We as good drivers need to be aware of that everytime we get behind the wheel as anything could happen. On a slightly separate note I find road rage just absolutely comical, whether its at me or whatever. Honestly I just cant understand why people get so worked up in their cars.

If its RD's your after I've been tempted by these for a while on edition, look like they need a refurb but there up for only 200 notes http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=320038&st=0

As above, is anyone with this lot ? I've just received an unbelievably low quote, 25% lower than anyone else on moneysupermarket.com. Just not heard of them before so wanted a 2nd opinion...... Cheers, Ian

Boots advert - Sex in the City promo - Corrado spotted!
gregulate replied to clubsport78's topic in General Car Chat
I think you're right, 26 seconds in.......... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWtM_sIJkPo Awesome spot btw  -
I owned a phase 1 172 - good but not great in summary. Basically a load of power at high-ish revs, and at low revs is easy around town, and good for fuel. Zero torque though - the engine just felt a bit weedy tbh. Handling is good, but the phase 1 I had was a bit tempremental - I span it a couple of times at relatively low speeds but other times it felt as though grip was never ending. Eventually I just lost faith in the handling so didn't feel confident driving with any real enthusiasm. Build quality was sh1t. Some ridiculous problems - for example (and this is purely what the garage told me and not 100% sure I believe it) the engine would somehow build up static which told the fuel computer not to let any fuel into the engine......so the engine would cut out / not start. All you had to do was touch the ht leads and recieve a minor static shock, low and behold the engine starts again......was told this is a common problem across the whole clio range. Might be worth researching a bit further. Maintenance wise the engine is pretty solid, but the rest of the car isn't. With most french cars they are good for the first 5 years or so but then everything WILL break and all at the same time as well. In short I can categorically say I will never own one again. I think I just got unlucky and bought a wrongun, as my mate has no real problems with his 182 cup. Having owned a corrado VR6 there is no comparison and I'd have a VR everytime.

Worth having a look at ronal LS wheels as well for the cross spoke bbs look - about the same price as the lensos but look a bit better imo (also worth more scene points aswell if that really worries you !!!!)

Just been to see an 92 j plate 8v, nice car but had a couple of doubts (sloppy gear change, bit too much rust etc) so walked away. It didn't have PAS - being a 90 spec I thought it should - but am i wrong ???
-
^^^^^^ Cheers, nice one fellas. I had asked him about the rod linkage problem which was sorted as part of the gearbox refurb apparently. And he's sending photos of all the rust, which sounds like its in completely different places to those mentioned. Just checked the journey though - Bath to Chorley on the train looks like a proper marathon so might be a little far I dunno. Heres the car anyway http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1547876.htm MysticRado - any reason you've gone for 8v's over 16v's ??
-
Cheers, I've just spoken to the chap about the car again, and he's done planty of work to it. New brakes, clutch, gearbox refurb and has put on shocks from a mk2 turbo diesel saying they make for a better ride - are they firmer or something due to the extra weight of a diesel engine ? Does this make sense to do ? Rust wise there is a bit, but not surface rust - I've asked for photos. The interior looks mint - factory electric recaros happy days. I'm pretty tempted by the car tbh but its 150miles away so want to make sure it all sounds above board before I hop on the train up t'north. Cheers, Ian

So my time without are car looks like it is coming to a premature end due to work commitments, and I fancy a mk2 gti. I'm possibly looking at one over the weekend - a bog standard 16v which has covered 122k. Presumably a few of you on here have owned one - is there anything I need to look out for in particular ? I've done a bit of research but to be honest this forum always comes up with the most sensible answers. Cheers in advance, Ian
