  1. Driver vr6 all of the seals have been removed in the images so yup being rebuilt with new seals :-) Time for another little update, haven't had much time to get a lot done but thought I would post what little had been happening anyhow...... Removed the scuttle and found a filthy mess of soil and leaves that had to be cleaned out Plenty soil sitting above the scuttle drain also. All the plastics and wipers that had been removed were then rubbed down with wet & dry. A good coat of primer was then applied, note the amazing masking ;-) Whilst the primer was going off the ecu cover was removed and cleaned along with the scuttle (pic still shows the mastic that was used to secure it but this has since been removed) Quick snap of the wipers in satin black once dry. All the other plastics done in satin black, just need to get them fitted. Not much going on I know but keeps the thread going. Rob
  2. I need to change my blue temp sender so I figure I might aswell change the coolant at the same time so I have a couple of questions...... 1. Where is the best place to drain from and do I need to turn the engine over to drain all of the fluid? 2. What is the procedure when filling to avoid air locks? 3. Is there anything else I should change when doing this job? 4. Is G3 the best stuff to use and what's the concentration reccomended? Thanks Rob
  3. Cheers man, Hoping to get her on the road again soon :-)
  4. Got my new job so finally back working shifts and now have more time tonshowbthe rado some love so here is a small update.... Got a set of front calippers for pennies so got to work stripping them down ready for a nice powder coat before I do a rebuild (I was looking for a cheap set of used rears but couldn't find any so removing them from the car next week so will update when I gt that done) First of all it was time to get the wire brush out and give the calippers a rub down to remove years of grime before I started to strip them down.......... Next Onto the bench to be stripped, slider bolts came out no problem at all but the bleed nipple and pistonss were another story, eventually got the pistons out with a set of mole grips (I'm replacing them anyhow) and then the rounded bleed nipples were removed with the trusty moles. All parts stripped and ready to go to the powder coater. Just need to remove the rears now and get them stripped down so I can drop all the parts off together...... Of course no post would be complete with the obligatory shot of the car in the garage. Again I forgot the camera so forgive the phone pics. Rob
  5. yeah just been looking at this stuff, not too expensive wither, think i will get an order placed.....
  6. yeah that was my only issue with doing the waxoyl but i have a full kit sat in the garage....... so how easy is the POR15 to work with? Im presuming it is black so the arches look OEM? ---------- Post added at 6:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:31 PM ---------- answered my own question with google, that stuff looks great!!
  7. never herd of that, is it much to buy? i was going to do the arches with spray on stone chip coating, i am going to inject the door bottoms, boot lid etc with waxoyl as it needs to be done even if it is never driven in winter.
  8. by all means dig them out bud and we can try come to an arrangement, I will try and find out exactly what they are for you and that they are in good condition (they have been ignored for a while so need to check they aint letting water in etc) Drop me a message once you have checked yours, these will be getting taken out when i polish the car anyhow :-)
  9. Thanks mate, the car should be stunning once im finished, need to do some paint correction before she goes back on the road, got some fine lines and holograms to sort out but shouldnt be too much of a job, plenty practice on my van with the orbital polisher :-) I think they are venom performance ones but i'm not sure, i'm keen to get rid of them as they aint 100% to my taste and source a set of stock indicators and headlights but funds don't allow at the moment so for now im trying to like them.
  10. yeah for sure, prob a month or so until i get mine running or even started lol but deffo has to be done! Need to get some stone chip ordered for the arches come to think of it and also get the waxoyle done!
  11. Ah good thinking i might have to do that to mine, cant comment on the running as mine is still hard work to start due to the over fueling issue that is taunting me, need to get the battery charged and change the blue temp sender and see where im at after that.... Yeah i get my parts done at beta blast mate, got a set of calipers to strip and send his way sometime soon and might also send the bike frame down soon.
  12. Well more of an update, finally managed to persuade my old man to let me use his garage for a while so i can get some work done on the rado before the baby comes and my time is restricted. Got the air box and gave it a good clean and then fitted it and I think its a massive improvement over the nasty cone filter that was there before it, i was going to try start the car and see how much sound difference there was but the battery is flat so that's on charge to be tested another day. Also removed the grill ready for paint :-) Not a lot of progress but its getting there...... note i still need to wrap the messy bits of loom and clean the battery tray properly.............. also need to change the rusty bolts and screws in the slam panel.
  13. severely worn wishbone bushes?? can you rock the wheel back and forward?
  14. what coilovers have you put on? my old 16v was a total dog on discount FK Street coilovers and i mean a complete dog! My VR6 has FK konigsport coilovers fitted with eiback front and rear ARB and its amazing, inspires confidence in corners and the ride is almost as good as stock most likley due to the adjustable dampers.
  15. had a similar issue to this but eventually mine stopped running, i presume this happens once the car is warm? Mine turned out to be the blue temp sensor causing overfueling......i could be totally wrong but it would appear common rob
  16. so if i didn't go for the MK4 conversion mk3 calipers would also fit, bit tight for cash so looking for used calipers
  17. are the rear brakes the same across all models i.e. will a 16v or g60 caliper work on a vr6 or are they different sizes, i now the discs are different fitment but is there more too it?
  18. apologies my bad... didn't realize it was such a sensitive matter also i didnt tell people where they could get it from, they would require my details to get it......
  19. MOD EDIT - Please do not encourage copyright piracy on this forum!
  20. Perfect, no im not bothered about the hoses just want a set of calipers to strip and send to the powder coater. £30 sounds perfect, how do you want me to pay, paypal gift ok?
  21. ok mate cheers, just wanted to make sure it was the 280 calipers i wanted
  22. replied on your thread mate, if you could check the postage cost for me that would be great
  23. are the 280mm standard VR6 size?? If so i will take the calipers, let me know full cost inc postage
  24. Possibly worh getting yourself a copy of the bentley manual and a good set of tools, you can save a fortune by getting your hands dirty
  25. Yeah when you purchase most calipers that is the case however i want a set to split and powdercoat whilst still having a set on my car.....no point purchasing new ones when i just want them to split
