  1. yeah i think i will just go with 5L and see what more the car needs after that
  2. fair enough, I will give it a miss but cheers anyway
  3. This is why i decided to check as the Bentley states 6L with a filter change
  4. Ah sound thanks for that mate! How did you find out that gem of info, I had considered calling the parts dept but thought they would be closed.....
  5. Don't suppose your willing to drop the price?? Seen these sell for as little as £20.........
  6. Looks stunning in satin mate, mine is gloss gun metal..... The coater near me can do just about anything, his range of colours in almost endless, I've used him for bike frames and all sorts and every time the finish is amazing and close to indestructible, well worth it if you want a finish that will last.
  7. Cool cheers, Would love to do the drive through Wales but not really economical to come from newcastle lol
  8. Dumpty your a fair distance from me but if I find that I need one I will give you a shout if that's cool?? Can't wait to have the rado on the road for summer! Only drove it for one month before I took it off the road.
  9. Ok thanks for the info, is the oil available from the dealer or is it cheaper elsware?? ---------- Post added at 5:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:19 PM ---------- Looking at euro car parts for oil at the moment......10w40 but there are a few choices, are expensive oils worth the cash??
  10. In my humble opinion I would go to see a powder coater and get it done properly and you will get a good durable finish, I had my rocker box and inlet mani done and it's spot on and will last forever........ Sorry about 2nd pic it was taken in the dark
  11. Ah that could be the stumbling block then as I don't have the metal strip I don't think unless it's still attached to the bumper.......I will have to take a look
  12. Hi, Just checking something, I had a look in the bentley manual at oil capacity for when I change the oil and it lists 5L without oil filter and 6L with oil filter, is this correct also for the 2.9 as the manual is for the AAA engine code...... Also what oil do people use??
  13. Simple question to be fair. I've repaired my splitter but need to fit it but don't have the fittings. Are they still available from the dealer or do I need to make something?? Cheers Rob
  14. Not much I know but a little more progress was made today, got the plastics painted and fitted and the engine now looks like this..... Pic is shoddy as my laptop is at work, will try upload pic from the big camera tomorrow as this does it no justice (phone pic) Got the leads fitted and started her up and hey how she was missing on one cylinder, further inspection leads to a bust lead so need to get a set ordered up.....the good news is I have no leaks or anything after refitting everything so I'm happy with that. Cheers
  15. cheers jonny, mine prob wont be on the road till arround then and the salt is gone
  16. depends how you drive it to be honest, mine used to see mid 30s on a long run but significantly lower if your giving it the heavy foot
  17. yeah makes sense supercharged, I have the full history for the car since 1993 when she was inspected at the dealer so no doubt if it has been done the paperwork will be there. Will tale a look at the cylinder and see how old it looks also, will be surprised if it hasn't been changed after 130k haven't had much time at all to work on the rado over xmas as iv been having too much fun using my van as a test piece for my new polisher, think i now have the hang of it too Bazmcc if its there and good its yours for price of postage
  18. I never had an issue with mine however i know some on here have had issues, on a totally personal note i loved my 9a, so much better to drive than a mk2 16v
  19. You are correct in the fact that the 2.0 16v is a 9a engine code, I used to have one and it was very reliable (i used it as my daily for over a year with no major issues) If it has a big history i would think it would be fair to say it should be ok, just check all of the things you would usually check when buying any can and then check that all of the electrics function correctly i.e. sunroof, spoiler, dash, windows etc. Im sure someone will post a buyers guide for you.... do you have a link to the car you are looking to purchase
  20. I had a similar issue coming from the rear of the car and it turned out to be the rear brake was very slightly bound on, after a whjile it had worn the inside pad down and the grinding was the pad backing plate against the disc, sounds like you have checked this but could be worth taking another look just to be sure
  21. Think I will try the slave and if it's not the problem take a look at the master...... Cheers for the advice
  22. Indeed I can pull the pedal back up with my foot and this also solves the issue, Will take a look at the fluid level but its looking like the slave cylinder to me.
  23. Simple answer to this is that i have no idea...........only had the car about 4 months or so, could old fluid be the issue?? would this not have a direct impact on the brakes?
  24. Om as the car is off the road at the moment im getting lots of jobs done that need to be done for summer. I may have post about this a while back but didn't get a definitive answer so thought it might be worth another go, I think its the clutch slave cylinder but want to try find out first before i go and order one as im not loosing fluid and when it went on my 9a it lost lot of fluid........this car is a 93 VR6. The car is fine and changes gear great when normally driving but if you sit on the clutch for over 30sec or so the pedal sticks down and the car will be stuck in gear, the only way to sort it out is to stop the engine, pull the pedal back up and start the car again and its totally fine to drive again. I havnt had a change to have a look at the cylinder position when this happens i.e. stop the engine and take a look under the bonnet but someone must have had this issue in the past, could it be a possible lack of vacuum in the system or something along these lines?? I would appreciate any info people can give me on this so i can get it sorted once xmas is out of the way. Cheers
  25. Im riffraff if the current balance is around the 6k mark and it is a not for profit organisation i cant see the value in return for my 50% extra payment (if it was introduced) I could understand if there were financial issues rendering the club in difficulties but at current this would appear to not be the case, I think a yearly review of the matter is certainly required however a 50% increase is very very high. Just my 2p and it would be very interesting to see the opinions of others
