  1. Im riffraff if the current balance is around the 6k mark and it is a not for profit organisation i cant see the value in return for my 50% extra payment (if it was introduced) I could understand if there were financial issues rendering the club in difficulties but at current this would appear to not be the case, I think a yearly review of the matter is certainly required however a 50% increase is very very high. Just my 2p and it would be very interesting to see the opinions of others Posted before i saw the above.
  2. Thanks for the effort to those involved, Have mine but not a chance to read it yet
  3. Thanks for the advice davidwort stolen from another forum if anyone else is viewing this thread; The KR 1.8 16v is the same 139BHP engine as the mk2 Golf 16v.....but in a heavier body. (may also be a couple of BHP less) The 2L 16v is a 9A (136BHP). Less power than the KR but more torque. Swapping to a KR inlet cam & setting up should give around 150BHP... A flowed head & schrick cams can give 170+BHP
  4. thanks mate plenty info there, what is the power difference between the 1.8 and 2.0?? Also is there any advantage of running the KR cams in a 9A head?
  5. dont think they are a dealer part anymore and a lot are getting old and senile so used ones aint much good
  6. this is also a great irritation for me!! all i had to do was add my plate and i had my red vr on the game!! other than the fact there is no wheel that looks like a tt mini comp If anyone is interested add me timthetinyhorse
  7. mate your cam hamster it obviously a very clever creature to have the ability to get past the springs....
  8. My mate is looking to but his 1st corrado and is looking at 16vs The main question that crops up is what is the difference/what is best......the 1.8 16v or 2.0 16v I had a 2.0 16v and loved it but at times i would hear the 9a engine getting some negative words when compared to the 1.8 16v, i understand they are very similar when it comes to performance but can anyone give me the pros and cons of both? Cheers Rob
  9. I noticed this yesterday when i was putting the car back together and thought at first it was something the powder coater had put in there but then thought about it properly lol
  10. all sorted and both are dealer parts :-)
  11. can anyone tell me if the following are still a dealer part? 12 N 90508101 bolt, with multi-spilne socket head M6X18 / and 16 021133915B shouldered nut with multipoint socket head M6 / They are the two different fixings for the HT lead plastics on the VR6 Cheers Rob
  12. So today the wife was packed off to the shops and I set away getting the engine put back together..... Pics detail the work that has been done today. So this is how the engine looked at the start of today; Decided to give the rocker nuts a quick paint before refitting the freshly coated rocker; Next up was to fit the rocker cover with its new gasket and get it put on with the black nuts....looking good now; A quick test and it was decided that the below silver plastic engine cover would not do; Next up the inlet manifold was refitted using new stainless bolts and fresh gaskets, I didn't get a decent image of the engine with just the manifold fitted or how good it looks with the fresh bolts however the is one of the manifold fitted and a test fit of the new satin black engine cover; I'm now waiting for a fresh set of HT lead plastics which will be painted up the same colour as the engine cover and a red set of HT leads. I'm also looking at mofifying a stock air box to accept the cone filter to keep the bay looking OEM but still keeping the lovely noise of the engine sucking in tons of air. As usual all comments and criticisms welcome :-)
  13. nice report, i was going to have this done last month but then i decided to pull my intake mani and rocker off.....will pop down to new deleval car and tires once then engine is bolted back together VW_chris i need to meet up with you once my car is back together like and take a look at your car
  14. the site linked below will give you an idea of the size difference mate, ignore the fact the wheel might contact the strut in the image its just there as a reference..... http://www.willtheyfit.com/
  15. dont think it will be a problem to be honest unless the car is slammed, pleanty people run 9" rears but plenty also require arch work etc, can you not do a test fit or are the wheels mail order.
  16. Indeed insulating the battery would prevent this from happening, my old astra van has some sort of battery insulation blanket on it which im thinking of taking off as the van is going the journey soon, it also makes the engine bay look a bit neater.......
  17. stunning car that, never seen the color before, i presume not many were made
  18. wouldnt think that the rear would stick yo to be honest, what makes you think this would happen?? remember your fuel tank etc is still at the back of the car......
  19. dubpower was what i was thinking, not a bad price at all, think i will order up a set once i get the coil sorted and the engine back together. cheers guys
  20. dont know if you are registered to edition 38 but just after i bought these off here i was offered these http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=477644 not mint but at £20 they are a bargain.......
  21. what went wrong with the coil dude?
  22. So over the weekend i removed my intake manifold and rocker to find that my coil was cracked and a couple of my leads were past their best. Im sure this has been asked before but can anyone recommend the best leads for the job? I don't want huge thick ones that wont fit in the ht lead plastics so need to be around stock size. I remember a site a while back that sold HT leads and also other choice vr6 parts like manifolds and exhausts etc but cant for the life of me find it. Cheers Rob
  23. need two of the bolts in red below....
