  1. I think early cars suit the early grille, black badge and no gorilla spoiler, and the G60 badge in the correct position. Pretty much as it came then...,
  2. Spoiler with debadge grille or no spoiler with badged grille. IMO.
  3. I believe Lee had to source an OE set of Corrado Recaros and liberate the subframe from them. I wonder if Scirocco subframes would accomodate as they sit low enough and are adjustable, they may need a little fabrication work but they are cheap and easy to source.

    A parcel for me!

The quality and performance of the black VW leads is often questioned, I hope these leads whilst retaining the look of the OE red leads will perform as they should. I cetainly don't expect any performance gains from leads  Its just time to change the leads nothing more. The standard leads are 7mm, although snug I am lead to believe 8mm will fit the retaining guides when fitted with care. :?

Unbeatable price, even with US delivery. thanks to Phat VR6 for the recommendation. http://www.wires4cars.com/
  7. A nice new set of high performance 8mm HT leads in OE style RED. 8) I love parcels!
  8. OK, quick update on progress. Centre Caps stripped and polished. Bolts stripped and chromed. Tyres. Ordered in Dunlop SP 9000 flavour 205/40R17 Centres stripped and currently being refinished  Outer Rims, hmmm
  9. People use the Silver RC cap in RS wheels so there should be no reason not to use black RS badges in RCs, as to whether they clip in still? but a little silicone would secure in ant event.
  10. If you couldn't afford to keep your wheels the upkeep and costs of a Rallye which are 17yrs old will be prohibitive. Also cool looking but too heavy by far for the power, which means upgrades and even thirstier than a VR.
  11. Is there any further info on the Bra you mention?
  12. Tell us more about whats involved, was thinking about this before I found my OE Recarosj
  13. May I be the first on the Corrado forum to say what a gorgeous car you have created, love it.
  14. Yeh, Edition 38 this year the C will be going, too far to go in the Polo again.
  15. Works for me :thumbleft:
  16. A little mascara applied
  17. Thanks for the comments, especially from those who like the car  , but in all seriousness its the healthy difference of opinion and differing tastes in styling that keep the scene interesting and active, so all comments are welcome. To explain my rationale with the car will give some insight into what I have tried to achieve. The overall objective is simple, I am essentially a big fan of the 'original' Karmann product that is the VW Corrado but wanted to clean and enhance certain minor features of the car to my own taste rather than using the car as a platform for highly modded custom creation. Of course this is all subjective and just my personal opinion, there are no rights and wrongs once you deviate from stock. 1 The ride height is too high especially in terms of a sporting coupe, hence the fitment of coilovers to improve handling and fine tune the ride height. My car is not set fashionably low, just more purposeful like a performance VAG car such as RS Audis 2 I believe the chrome effect standard badges look cheap and I think the colour coded rear badges and black front rondell help clean the look whilst retaining a stock effect. The same is true of the door handles which in truth are large and ugly. In order to keep a more stock look however rather than wholesale change I have fitted colour coded lockless passat handles to clean the effect. 3 The headlamp surounds were colour coded to focus the effect of the black grille. I believe that on such a light coloured car the black surrounds and grille together create a 'black hole effect' at the front of the car. (I wouldn't have cdone this to a dark car, there simply is no need) 4 The amber sections of the rear lamps detract from the overall styling look and the subtle red tinting creates an OE look of other VWs without looking modified. 5 Wheels are always an emotive subject. I prefer OE style wheels from the correct period and the BBS RS was an option which was quoted as being deveploed especially for the Corrado motorsport application? In any event they fit perfectly without alteration or adaptors ( or carrying other Margues logos) and give the styling look I prefer. To me the Corrado looks underwheeled on 15" rims. Very little else has been changed too much but the addition of an OE style Supersprint exhaust and the fitment of Factory leather Recaros only serve to enhance the OEM+ styling. So whilst the car won't float everyone's boat I thought you might like some insight into the thought processes which lead to its evolution. Thanks for taking the time to read. Gareth
  18. Ok, this now is pretty much the definitive OEM+ look for my car, until I fit the other RS splits of course
  19. Gearknob now fitted, still to be wired. And for the more observant a little something else
  20. Supersprint Cat back system with Stainless steel oval OE style back box. Superb quality , fit, sound and performance.

    8x17 ET Question

I'm sticking to 7.5"x17" ET33 at the front and i'm happy with the way they fill the arches and there are no fitment or clearance issues :) Its only the wheels on the rear axle that will be changed for a 0.5" wider dish which should result in an 8x17 ET27, I will probably run 205s to aid clearance, but wondered what others had fitted at the rear and the issues encountered.

    8x17 ET Question

Were you using the spacers on the rears (ET29) and if so did they catch?
