Need to order four new tyres for the vr6, found some toyo proxes t1r for under £200 for all four in 205 50 15 size, then saw the 195 50 15 for £130! I suppose id be asking for increased understeer with the thinner 195's over the 205's, does anybody run 195's? cheers

Just took delivery of a corrado vr6 i’ve owned before in the past and this time it’s staying for good. Bodywork is great on the car, no rust, engine rebuilt by stealth, magnex, koni ta’s with h&r’s. Samcos, bmc, headlight loom there’s lots. Had a corrado vr6 from about 19-20 and always had one at some stage, 42 now with two kids so the corrado will be a summer weekend cruiser. We have two other cars in the household one being a e46 m3 which i’m looking to sell come march april time. Car hadn’t been started and stood for over three years in underground storage and after a bit of tinkering and fresh fuel we managed to get her going, so happy, even the wife loves the corrado and the noise it makes. Shame they have just salted the roads as it won’t be coming out until it’s had four new tyres and a big list of jobs, one of them the dreaded heater matrix. Cant believe the sunroof still tilts and slides as well! Plan is in a few years for me and three other mates to go to shows, drives out as they each have their old cars from past, a mk2 golf ti, escort and a mini Few pics of the car after being dropped off, looks tidy for not having a wash for over 4 years.. I've decided to sell the corrado as we can't have three cars in the household plus I miss my old m3. So some you might of seen the work me and my mechanic friend have put into this corrado, I won't go mad on the description but it owes me close to £5000. It's a good solid car, mot'd untill 2nd September, used at weekends so is currently taxed, a few corrosion spots in the usual places but none around the windscreen or fuel filler cap. The engine has done 168,125 with the oil and filter being changed at 167,886. The engine has had the chains and tensioner replaced and we have retimed the engine correctly and now she pulls very strong, got to be the quickest one I've had I think. I've fitted a wrapped six branch manifold which is louder than the original cast manifold and does give some resonance when driving in the lower gears but I have the old manifolds to supply with the car. Also bought and fitted new 11mm race leads with a replacement coilpack, a Bmc induction kit has also been fitted to compliment the magnex rear silencer. Engine does not smoke on Wot or on startup and uses no oil I've just fitted brand new AP coilovers which have done under 100 miles, men's top mounts were used also. The calipers and discs are 288mm from the golf vr6 The rear trailing arm has powerflex bushes fitted. Body wise she's pretty good, I've just had the drivers wing sprayed which isn't a perfect match but it comes up lovely, bit of corrosion at the bottom of the drivers wing and at the rear of the drivers rear arch. All the arches are rust free though and the rears have been wax filled. There are two dents which I've been quoted £200 by dent Devils to remove. Interior is grey leather which I havnt cleaned or treated so would come up lovely with some love, the heated switch gear is there and the loom is plumbed in, just needs the spades pushing on at the right places. The centre stereo surround is cracked near the stereo and I have a new one that comes with the car. Heaters get nice and hot. Importantly the car does not let any water in in heavy rain so no damp foot wells which I found to be one of the most annoying jobs on a corrado All in she's a good solid corrado that pulls and sounds lovely, just needs some tlc and she'll be there I'm committed to another car so she has to go! Get a bargain at £2995 ovno Any questions contact mat on 07866474147 Pics..

Are we talking the b5 v6 or b7 v8 rs4? Had an b5 s4 that was plagued with boost leaks due to the twin turbos, same as rs4, also the steering is shocking compared to a simple corrado, proper wooden and crap, b7 is supposed to be very good but still pretty typical audi in the handling department. One thing i learned with flagship rs or m cars is that everything's just stupidly more expensive than it should be. And there's no point going cheap on things like brakes/bushes or tyres as they just don't drive right with the wrong bits on. Aren't the brakes on the v8 rs4 £1000 all in to replace? rear discs cost me £340 on my m3 not to mention loads of other bits and i think i was into around £4000 when i sold it just to get it where it should be. Also the inlet manifolds coke up with carbon which is a grand to sort, and i've heard the active dampers fail and are silly money so owners go down the bilstein route. Was looking at these myself and i'd be looking for all the above sorted and a set of four good tyres to start off with. But the most important thing is the misses has said get one right?! so ignore all of the above and go buy the first one you see:-)

Cheers mate, Yeah the corrado is a great drivers car, always puts a smile on my face which is what it's all about, felt great cruising past the modern stuff and getting some admiring looks as they are a rare sight on the roads now, just been out in the boring golf, no fun!
-
Thought i'd do a local m50 loop and give the vr6 a good run before cleaning out all the arches and laying her up for a few weeks and removing battery. Spent a lot of time getting the car right with the timing needing adjusting and fitting ap coilovers, six branch and a bmc, leather interior plus not to mention a load of other bits. Brought back memories why i love these cars, the sound and the steering modern stuff can't get close to. All washed and layed up Some while i was out

Yeah my mate noticed there was a plug missing from the vac lines down in the bulkhead which definatly did the trick, stamped on the brakes today and it stopped very well so all good! So pleased the misfires gone though, finally feels like I can jump in the car and go now. Looking forward to the new year where I can attend a few shows as I'm a member of Worcester retro and was going to be following my mate in his mk2 1.8T up to stealth in January for a remap but would rather get the dent man to sort the body first. Happy with the six branch manifold as well, you do get a bit of resonance through the car but it definatly sounds meaner:-)
-
Had another crack at the vr today in trying to sort the misfire which turned out to be a faulty coilpack, replacement fitted and now she flys, engine is super quiet and feels really strong. Also fitted the bmc so it also sounds epic from inside, here's a few pics of the car with the ap coilovers fitted and at the height I'm happy with at the moment, also had the brakes bled and found there was a cover missing off one of the vac lines so now the 288 brakes work very well. Just need to find a wiring diagram for the heated seats as the loom is installed plus the switchgear, must needs plugging up. Bmc fitted!

Heads up on the mk4 gasket, my good pal just rebuilt his mk1 golf 2.8 vr lump which blew the mk4 gasket not long after being built, after being informed that it was a good mod he kicked himself when it blew, it has a standard one on there now which is doing the job nicely and with piper cams and a stealth map puts out 218bhp

Nearly there with the corrado, I think the cats melted so got a new one to put on and a bmc.. Here's a few more pics with the ap coilovers fitted, ride is good, just need the salt roads to go away and an alignment
-
Thanks mate, that decat must be long gone, and I think the wishbones are on the car! Undecided whether or not to go decat or just put another cat back on tbh? Also don't want any boomy resonance when driving steady
-
Hi Sean, no decat passsed onto me, can't believe how strong the engine pulls for its mileage? Must of had some work? Just deciding whether to go decat or standard cat at the mo??
-
I think I've found the culprit, just been out in the car and was fine for a few miles then started to bog down, no power at all. Returned home and the cat was sizzling away and very hot, I think when the six branch was fitted something has blocked the cat or the cats broken up?
-
Yeah good shout, my good pal has one on his mk1 vr6 which is locked away, might pester him:-)
-
Might try a coilpack, cheers
-
Recently adjusted the timing on the vr6 after a lack of power over 5000rpm, now this morning for the first time I used the car to take the lad to footy and all was fine for say 6 miles, then I when opened her up at bit it but very stron until 5500 where it felt flat, then it was terrible, like it was running on 2 cylinders, really chugging, really weird as I've just started it to put it back on the drive and it's fine, no misfire or anything? After a bit of searching I'm lead to the coilpack but wouldn't it do it all the time?, it's just had 10mm race leads?
-
Mate tried this when rebuilding his mk1 golf vr6's 2.8, blew the gasket, apparently not a good mod he reckons, but he still got 218bhp with piper cams and a stealth remap once the original gasket was fitted
-
I thought it was good, and even liked the layed back American who looked fast as *^**! Watched it for free on the firestick kodi also

Just removed these from my corrado vr6, standard shocks with lowering springs, not sure of make but wasn't silly low and no knocks or bangs, top mounts in good order. £100 buyer covers postage 93 on, late cloth interior in good condition, rear seats look mint and front seats have no holing of bolsters but slight wear, drivers seat has very small 2-3mm hole in centre of seats base, front and rear door cards are all in good condition, door cards not pictured but can send some if needed, there are pioneer speakers attached to front cards. £150, buyer pays postage Also have standard manifolds with downpipe still attached, £75 Any questions pm me or call matt on 07866474147 cheers
