Guys, where's the best place to get a front chrome vr6 badge? I've looked everywhere! I've pm'd the guy who was doing them on here but no reply? Desperate for one so if anyone has one I'll have it:-)
-
I think I know the answer, i might go for the ap's, lots of people rate them

Would these be any good for a corrado vr6? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281278786151 Look good value for fk?
-
It's recently had oil and filter, fuel filter, air filter and drive belts, got receipts for all of that lot? Oils golden clear on the dipstick as well, might give it an oil service and fresh plugs again just to be sure.. Or just take it to the guru at stealth racing!

These are the icing, I sold one a few years back and some lad bought it from Spain. It took me a while to shift mine but I was missing the vacuum tank, good luck with the sale, looks mint

It doesn't really feel down on power untill the last 500rpm where the engine gets louder and feels harsh. Was going to put it on a rolling road but if it stayed in front of a 1500kg car with 200bhp/300lbft then it can't be in bad shape? I'll look into the cam position sensor though, thanks

In the past I've always had early K reg vr6 distributor engines and a couple of coil pack later lumps. The one I've just picked up is an L late 93 coil pack engine which I'm not sure is right past 5-5500rpm? Always remember previous vr6's would hit the limiter without trying but the one I have now feels coarse past 5000 and not really happy at 6000rpm? Low down torque feels very strong, better than I remember and I think the power is all there as I followed it home in our bmw e90 325d which puts out 194bhp/295lbft and I could just about keep up untill forth where I could then reel the vr6 in. Maybe I've been used to an s54 lump at 8000rpm for too long! But sure the engine is strong, pulls well no smoke at all from the rear, it's also recently had all filters and plugs, oil etc Would a bad maf cause a weak top end or a sensor?, I've not even tried to see where the limiter is either, it's like a diesel where you realise you'd be better off changing early, my old one wasn't like that? Cheers

Ok kennyvr671, I'll pm you

Hi Jim, I know the corner units come with their own bulbs/ wiring, but no bulbs with the inner units. I've never fitted these myself so I'm not 100% sure to be honest, would like to think it's all plug and play, here's a pic.

Hi Edd! Yes knew I'd be back:-) should never of sold your old one, was a solid car that, but this one is pretty good to be honest, I'll pm you my mates details, he's going well and fully specialises in Morgan's now amongst everything else. He looks after a few hill climb cars and customers travel for miles to Use him. He's got a mk1 vr6 convertible on nos, just finishing a golf mk2 1.8t build, a few campers, a caddy and an escort Mexico bare shell he's building, don't know how he finds the time to be honest, can't wait to get my vr6 down there and start a few job:-)

Yeah Sean the paint came up lovely with a quick wash, I'll let you take the credit for that:-) Wasn't a fan of the yellow to be honest, might even put the vs grill badge to to oem yet:-o I'll get on the hunt for a grill badge, already ordered the outside body swage line trim pieces
-
Yes, well spotted, They had to go straight away! Where's my best bet for a vr6 chrome front grill badge? The guy on the for sale section?
-
It was coulstar, engine is quiet and strong but feels strangled past 5500rpm and louder at 6k? whereas my old ones used to love the limiter? Any thoughts? Had a nice drive out in it today and gave it a quick wash, came up pretty well I reckon, ah the best bit, I had a guy stop me today to look around the car and mentioned his son has one locked away as they are shooting up in value, nice to have an admirer!

Imola red, there's not many of those kicking around, get yourself on m3cutters, some lovely imolas on there, good choice! Don't get to hung up on the smg vs manual debate, I replaced my smg pump and it's far from the horror story it's made out to be, good luck with it.
-
Thanks for the welcomes, The m3 for the money is one of the best drivers cars out there, there's a reason there's so many at the ring and at track days. The engines if looked after are bombproof and for me the smg just compliments the car no end, s6 changing gear at 0.08th of a second at 7900 is very good as long as software is up to date etc, I have the csl software on mine as well as rev matching which makes it even better, well exactly the same as the csl. They can be silly money to maintain and that's why the £6-7k cars are cheap. They feel like an armchair on the road and feel so right and get better the harder you push them, becoming a classic I reckon just like the corrado.
-
Thanks Jim, yes lovely cars but by god you have to fire some money into them to get them right, no wonder there's so many out there so cheap, people buy them and realise what they need to keep them going and sell on, mines cost me easy 4-5k. Recently had an inspection 2, proper tyres and an alignment, it's only now started to feel like my old e30 318is did in the dry but much better in the wet, there just like the corrado in they stay with you as a good drive.

Thanks Sean, it was a little unloved when I picked it up so glad to have it part of the family. I'll pm you, cheers

Hi all, Had my first corrado at 21ish, joined the forum in 2004 and after nine including a couple of storms I'm back with my 10th Some people may recognise the plate L107ODU and after some digging it appears to be owned previosly by seanl82, but so happy to be back, there's not a day gone by where I've missed owning one, this one is staying with me for good, at 40 with two kids I'm getting a bit old for chopping and changing, but always did have a soft spot for ice grey violet. I also have an e46 m3 which I have spent a fortune on to get it how it should be and the misses has an e90 325d m sport so the corrado will be enjoyed with my good pal going to local shows and days out with the family. So here she is, I do love the aqua blue pearl, interior has a few rattles, drivers wing needs painting as its not the best colour match but the engine is a peach, pulls well, poly bushed at the rear, is that a good thing?? Drives very tight and lowered and max springs which are very crash so might upgrade to coilovers hopefully. Plans for her are.. get the wing sprayed, sort a few dents and just some Sunday tinkering and then drive one of the best cars I've ever driven! Love em Pic of the m3 And the 325d

Is this now sold?

There were crossover years with early late badges/interiors that had coil packs or distributors
-
All vr6 badges were red on the front and back from 91/92-93, then from mid 93,(September I think) they were all chrome. The Corrado badge on the rear was painted as body colour from 92-93, then chrome from 93

Ok thanks, didn't research prices
