Hi Ant, I sent you a message about the pods but I'm not sure if it actually got sent. Please let me know -
Great project, you car looks really deep! I bet it gets a bit of attention! Nice work.

I just called Andy and he was really helpful! I asked him if he could build me the diagram and he said it may not be necessary. He said that the brown wire is only there to illuminate the switch (so not really needed) and rather than paying him to re wire the headlights I could just snip out the brown wire and go with out switch illumination. Which for the moment is fine by me! Thanks Portent, so helpful! I'm going to do this as a quick fix and rewire a new fused feed in when I have the time.

Following on from my previous thread I had a good look at the wiring that leads to my headlight switch and the brown wire has melted its coating for as far back as I can see, almost a foot! I was looking to replace the melted part of the brown cable but it goes too far back. I think at somepoint the car had an uprated loom fitted and I think that is what caused the damage. I'm very suprised the car hasn't gone up in smoke! Obviously at the moment I can't use the car at night as I don't want to risk it, and even though I don't use the car for work it is a major priority to get this done! I'd like to get in touch with an auto electrician who can build me the set up that Fishwick posted the diagram for. If anyone can point me in the right direction it'd be mush appreciated, I thought I'd ask on here before I start contacting random numbers on the internet! I live near Croydon. Thanks.

Thanks for the link! Looks a little more complicated than I remember :( If anyone in the Surrey area understands the diagram and could fit it to my car I'd happily pay!

Silly question, but would the door pods fit a VR6? -
A while ago someone on here documented how they had rewired their headlights to give more power as the existing wiring went all around the houses meaning the output wasn't that bright. I am keen to do this because amongst other reasons I checked the wiring on the back of the (late) headlight switch the other day and the brown wire had melted all of its insulation off for about 10cm going back from the switch! I don't know how I'm going to replace it without taking the dash out because access is rubbish! So i'm thinking I could kill two birds with one stone here and just rewire the headlights. If anyone has any advice on this or a link to the re wiring thread (I tried search a few times) I'd be interested!

If you had £3k to spend on your Corrado....
carter711 replied to OllieVR6's topic in General Car Chat
Respray for me in the same colour (flash red), my 16" pininfarina alloys refurbed and tired up and new sounds/ a bit of dynamatting in the doors. Then £1500 on the engine with cams, CDA, exhaust, new clutch, chains and HG. Oh and my recaro's taken out and re dyed to freshen them up. I don't know why I don't do it. I've been thinking of selling up and getting an E46 330ci but they are just so generic. I love having my iconic Corrado!!! -
Led backlit Heater Control panels for late Corrados

Very interested! Green with red/blue middle! -
Great project! A real home grown feel to it!

Thanks for the replies chaps! My mechanic has put it all back together with oil and apparently it is better than before but I'm hoping if I re locate the blue cable it will return to how it was!

Hi, (Firstly I tried the search function but couldn't find anything recent and fitting to my problem) Last week I had a genuine heater matrix fitted by my mechanic who has done a bit of work for me in the past. He got the job done but upon collecting the car I realised that the directional control dial was really stiff, and wouldn't engage the windscreen setting at all. I spoke to him about it and he said he'd take it back in to fix the issue. A while later he phones to say that the cables were stiff and this was the cause of the problem so I got on the phone to TPS who said they had a set left so I ordered it and thought happy days! Today I got a phone call from tps saying the cables haven't turned up and it looks like they are out of stock and the part is obsolete :( Has anyone else had a similar issue to this, and what did you do? Is there anywhere that I can get the cables from, or is there a different solution I'm not aware of? The car is a late VR6 without AC if that's any help!

Have you tried Pistonheads? Lots of legal bods on there.

Brookland Breakfast Meet 15 May

It was good to talk to fellow VR6 owners yesterday, it's something that doesn't happen often! The convoy along the M25 was cool too! I'd like to give a massive thanks to everybody that looked over my car when I noticed that it had lost all it's coolant without any sign of leakage in the engine bay. The bottle Ron gave me came in very useful as I had to refill about 6 times on the way home, thanks! A new matrix has been ordered at the cost of £140 and I'm going to have the rear bushings, discs and pads changed whilst it's in the workshop. It was interesting to hear about Charlie's engine and it has inspired me to keep my Corrado forever (I was going to anyway!) and get it turbo'd one day instead of selling up for a faster car. You just can't beat a fast Corrado! Here's an old thread I made about those BBS Pininfarinas I was talking to djmac about, I can't wait to (wear out my current tyres so I can) get them on my car. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?47959-Can-anyone-shed-any-light-on-these-16-quot-BBS-wheels-Pics&highlight=pininfarina -
What's happening tomorrow mayne?

Nice project you've got going here, you've inspired me to do something about the sound system in my Rado!

Hi Charlie, I can meet you there at 7.15am. I'll be driving a red Corrado VR6 with 17" gunmetal ABTs. It's in the garage at the moment having a major summer service so I'll update the thread when I know it's out and I'm able to drive it! John -
