I'll have a little look later and report back, I live in Purley, CR8. Thanks
-
I'm afraid delivery isn't an option - someone will get a really good deal here if they can take the lot!

I've been messed about on ebay to many times with these and want them gone! 10 x speedline alloy wheels in varying condition. All with tyres some road worthy some not. £15 each or if you want them all I'll do a deal with you! Will also give you a better price if you can collect ASAP [email protected]

These are mine. After a long time thinking about it, I've decided to sell. You won't find another set of these.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Corrado-BBS-VR6-Wheels-5x100-16-Mk3-Golf-Alfa-Romeo-Rare-Pininfarina-Alfa-/181127785757?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item2a2c0ead1d

I could do but the hoses are very old and wont come off the old without cutting them and then the new attachment wouldn't be as secure. This problem must have been encountered before? If not then it's gonna be an on going one what with the part being made obsolete!
-
Hi all, so my fuel pump died the other day so I got it trailered home, bought a new pump and went about fitting it (I've never fitted one before btw) I got the old one out fine and tried to transfer the hoses from the old over to the new but it quickly became apparent that it wasn't going to happen and that I needed new hoses and the top bit that screws into the top of the fuel tank. I have since learned that this is called the sender unit and that it is now obsolete. :( My question is what part do I need that can do the same job? Is it the same as a Mk3 Golf VR6 unit? Any help on this is appreciated as I use my car everyday and being without it is a pain! My car is a 1995 Corrado VR6 btw

Absolutely gorgeous. Regarding the airfilter, I've got the standard air box with a K&N panel filter but I've removed the snorkel. It sounds brilliant! (VR6 btw!) -
Opinions of e36 m3 and would you have one instead of a Corrado
carter711 replied to Portent's topic in General Car Chat
Apparently the vadar seats are awful for track use, you slide everywhere, I agree they look good though! On another note, the E36 M3 evo never produced 321bhp as everyone likes to state. They produced 321PS (German measure of power) which is the same as about 318bhp. Pedantic I know but it does get on my tits a bit every advert I see for an Evo saying that they have 321bhp! I do love the E36 M3, I think they are getting to the point now where E30 sports where a few years ago, the pikeys have had their fun with them and can now afford the next newest model which leaves nice E36s to slowly appreciate, and be appreciated for the machine they are without every pike and his mum having one and ruining the image. -
Hi all, I remember a thread ages ages on here about the pros and cons of running 195 section tyres on 15" speedlines, I am interested in hearing opinions on this as after 2 years I am getting really sick of the rubbish ride my 17" wheels with 40 sidewalls are giving! I plan to put the original wheels back on and raise the ride height a bit, I basically want the same 'stance' (scene points) as this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3546236.htm (apologies if the owner still uses this forum, it is a lovely Corrado though!) I have seen that 195s are a fair bit cheaper than 205s, what are the trade offs? I will be using Blackcircles to buy/fit the tyres, I have used them before and was pleased with what I got. Here is a picture of my car as it stands, I'll be selling these ABTs when I do the swap, so if you have any interest now would be a good time to get in early lol, I am in Surrey.

I had a similar thing to do with my passenger door. It turned out to be loads of broken glass inside the bottom of the door where it had been broken into at some point in its life!

I thought this would have got bought by now! HAs anyone gone to see it?

Before I start, I don't know the seller, but I have spoken to him on the phone. He needs to sell his Corrado fast and it's stupidly cheap. He bought it a few weeks ago on gumtree, got it trailered home as the battery was dead and then went to get it insured but his policy wouldn't allow the change of vehicle as they change was too great (his existing car is a van) So he can't get insured without cancelling his insurance and having to buy a new policy which he can't afford. He hasn't got enough money in his bank to get the car taxed and it's parked on the road so he is constantly having to keep an eye on it to stopped it getting towed, and he'd rather sell it cheap so someone else can enjoy it than have it towed, be unable to pay the release fee and then the car will be crushed :( I called him to arrange to buy it but after thinking about it for a minute I can't buy it. I already have a VR6 that needs constant work and I started a new job last and it's crucial that I don't have time off. Anyway here is the advert if you search for Corrados in London you will see the original advert that he bought it from, with more pictures. The wheels and tyres are worth the asking price alone! http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/vw-corrado-2l-16vmotazev-a-alloys-with-toyo-proxs/89505445#gallery-item-full-1

Great project and thanks for sharing! I never thought I'd say I'm looking forward to hearing progress on a derv golf but indeed I am!

I had the gearbox oil changed on my VR about 6 months ago, gearchange was much smoother. I got the brakes bled at the same time, it really makes the car feel nicer to drive.
-
It's a tricky subject, but put simply any car built with performance as its main objective is a sports car. VW didn't put a 2.9 6cyl engine in the Corrado for economy did they! Some will say that a sports car needs to be rear wheel drive but this rule does not apply to all, the Lotus Elan for example.

Renshaw project (probably going to sell / swap)
carter711 replied to 24V Renshaw's topic in Members Gallery
I think black is one of the best colours for the Corrado, right up there with Flash red I love the interior as well, exactly the same as mine. I'm going to keep mine as standard as possible except for the things you HAVE to change, like the ride height, and the very dated and terrible sounding stereo! I've got some 16" BBS pininfarinas that I'm gonna put on mine, they are very similar to the speedlines but fill the arches better and are made by BBS 8) -
Very nice, looks purposeful! Plus everyone know red is the best :D

Absolutely stunning!

Amplifying components and fading from L to R?
carter711 replied to carter711's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
Yea it has 3 pairs. Cheers! -
This may sound like a silly question but I am in the middle of upgrading my car stereo (I won't bore you with the specifics!) and have a question. I'm going to be running two amps from my Alpine head unit, one for the sub in the boot and one for the components in the doors (no other speakers) These amps are obviously going to be receiving signal via phono leads. So... Will I still be able to fade the sound from left to right? How will the head unit know what's going on? I haven't run components from an amp before so this is all new to me!
