  1. I must say that Polo looks so $hit it's actually funny. But I suppose that's the point. :D
  2. Hi, I'm not sure if this is the same problem but if it is then I'd like to put my name down.... If I have the passenger side window wound down and someone closes the door, the window sounds like it hits the inner of the door and makes a clout sound, it sounds horrid! Has this problem got musc to do with the rollers or am I barking up the wrong tree? Cheers.
  3. This is what it was, after a suspension stripdown and rebuild the noise has thankfully gone! Thanks everyone :D
  4. Mine didn't, and it was/is a genuine VW part.
  5. Get this replaced ASAP!! If the belt comes off which it will if you use it in it's current state, the waterpump will not work and your engine will over heat which could lead headgasket failure!!! A VW part will cost about 80-90 for the whole tensioner. Replace the belt whilst you are there, about £15 It's an easy job. You will need a long bolt (can't remember the size but any good car part shop will have one if you explain) that winds into the top of the tensioner unit to stacken the tension, allowing you to fit the belt. Once the belt is fitted unwind and remove the bolt and the belt will be tensioned.
  6. I forgot to say I've had both wheel bearings replaced and I can't feel any play when I give the wheel a good rocking. I'll look into the suspension top nut tomorrow and see what its like...
  7. Hi, I've got a new problem with my VR6 :D If I'm travelling at low speeds over a bumpy road I get a clonking type noise from the drivers side wheel/ suspension assembly. It has gotten worse over the past few weeks and is now starting to really annoy me! Any ideas what it could be? The car has been lowered on Weitec GTs and I fitted new OE front topmounts whilst I was there. I'm running 17" wheels and the camber/tracking has not yet been adjusted. Any help/advice welcommed! Cheers.
  8. Watching with interest... I have 10 speedline alloys sitting about atm!
  9. This is one thing that annoys me about my VR and has me thinking crude thoughts od an STi Scooby wagon... :ignore:
  10. Hey i'm from Purley too, guess i'll have to keep a look out for you eh 8) Yours isn't the red one i always see is it? Yea that's me! There's another red one I see about sometimes though, It's got crystal/red rears and standard 16v wheels painted grey, I think it's a 16v because the wheels are 4 stud. Mine is red with grey 17 ABT 5 spokes, slammed. What have you got?
  11. It would help if you knew where abouts in London the car is, If it's not too far from where I live in Purley I may be able to accompany you, I've owned, modified and maintained ( :gag: :salute: ) a VR6 for 18months now. I'll check this thread again late sunday morning..

    Momo Arrows?

16s will look more OEM I think. I've got some 16" 5spoke BBS wheels I can't wait to put on for that very reason.
  13. E46 M3s are fast becoming the chav car of choice unfortunatley. I know it's a great car etc but I hate the modern BMW 'image' and it's especially bad for the 3 series.
  14. NICE ride! Have the headlights been tinted or have they got smoked covers? I like it alot!
  15. The pattern of the hollow back is just like the pattern on the front of a 997 turbo wheel, it took me a while to realise where I'd seen it before!
  16. I've seen a red rado parked up by Kenley Aerodrome a few times now, looks like a 16v or G60 as has 4stud grey wheels, lowered and clear/red rears. K reg. First time I saw it i was in the work van and for a split second thought someone had stolen my car! Looks very similar!
  17. It seems they were standard on US VWs then? I wonder how a set got all the way over here! It's strange that they have Pininfarina on them as they are an Italian design house and as far as I'm aware have never worked with VW? I'm hoping they will look really good in a OEM+ sorta way! Plus with the 45 profile tyres will give a btter ride than the 17/40s I've got on at the mo..
  18. I got these wheels a few weeks back to put on my Corrado, I have never seen any like them on a Corrado before. They are 16" 5x100 BBS 'Pininfarina' wheels, they have a 1993 production mark stamped on the back. I have pictured them next to the speedlines as a reference of scale and style. I bought them because they look similar to Speedlines but they fill the arch a bit better being 16". They need a good refurb but when they are tidied up I am hoping they will suit my car quite well, I've included a pic of my car, just for the hell of it! :D Does anyone know anything about them? What car were they meant for? The wheels currently on my car are 1994/1995 17" ABT wheels made by O.Z, I got them last year and over the summer refurbed and sprayed them gunmetal grey. I may be selling these once I've put the Pininfarina BBS wheels on.
  19. cheers guys, i think ill just bluff it at the MOT... "nah mate, them rados never came with rear wipers" :D Mine's been MOT'd without the wiper on and they didn't say 'ought! Although, they didn't mention the piece of insulation tape over the ABS light either (still on the list of things to sort out!). Neither are requirements.... TVRs don't have ABS and E36 BMWs don't have rear wipers.
  20. 928 slot wheels look so good on a Corrado! OEM+!
  21. I worry everytime I drive my car at the moment because it's had the same oil for the last 6k lol, I've got all the oil and filter sitting here ready to do in - I'm just waiting for a dry day where I'm not working so I can do it.
