  2. Are you sure it wasn't 'J * DUB? i.e. Henny's re-born C :?:
  3. Gotta say, I think it looks terrible! :|
  4. [OK, here's a picture of me, in front of signs AND a flag, AND wearing latex in public  I think a yellow flag means 'eez OK now, ze Eengleesh eediot has left ze watteeer!' 'Beat that', in a latest McDonalds TV advert stylee....

    Side repeaters

Yep, as I recall they are, but don't sue me if you buy any bits and they don't fit! I beleive they are same fit though
  6. Could have been sooo much worse mate, asking the Corrado Forum 'how about some pictures of our members' Wide open for mis-interpretation :!:

    squeaky spoiler

Mine does the same, but hey, at least it moves! Seriously though, some people say lube it, but I've never thought it a good idea personally, as oil plus dirt equals grinding paste. I seem to recall hearing years ago that the C's had this complaint when first came to UK and some VW mechanics resolved it by putting some talc on the arms and running it up and down a few times. Worked on mine for a while, but it doesn't bother me too much as rarely hear it over the strereo. If you do try a lube I would say try a very light oil, if at all.
  8. Erm, GirlieC....ahem, nice erm, erm, nice ahem, ...erm...leather seats
  9. Oh, go on then, I'll wimp out with a distance shot, .....me attempting to look 'cool' despite being surrounded by nothing but an air-cooled mob! :D
  10. Not one is 'better' than the other surely, just different, depends what your looking for I suppose and what suits each person. Theyr'e all Corrado's which is the main thing (group hug!) Well said 'andycowuk' by the way. I'd like a G60 or VR6, but i'd still want to keep my good ol' 16 valver too, more than happy with it, still a great drive and constantly surprising other things on the road...lovely! :D
  11. Who are you insured with, they sound good, so presumably not 'quote me happy, repair me very un-happy' :x Glad to hear it's going to have a happy (front)ending! :D
  12. New wing, poss. bonnet, new headlight assy., plus paint etc. I'm starting the sweep-stake at £750. Not much sympathy for the driver from this end, if your'e too old / inept to drive, then stop doing it. What if it had been a child he reversed in to /over. At least you were there to see it, I had some tw#t reverse in to mine with their towbar, then just drove off., unfortunately I wasn't there at the time. Luckily the number plate took most of the damage. Trouble is with this kind of carelessness, the harder the parts are to come by, and the easier it gets for your car to get written of by soul-less insurers who just see the C as an old car  Looks like he took out a bit of the panel under the headlight, which as I under stand it can be tricky to sort out?
  13. we have a N-reg honda accord up here with that very style of spoiler and ..............WHEEL TRIMS..................very touring car i must say  Yeah, it seems to be a primarily Jap car affliction to do turd mods, there seems to be a very proud 'rice' group round here like that, one of which parks on my street, can hear him coming from miles away as he drives past round mid-night with in-appropriately large exhaust and the amusing 'boot'ing of the throttle as he drives by at an impressive 20mph! You gotta laugh! Just a shame they don't understand irony....people aren't grinning WITH you mate, theyr'e laughing AT you. :-P
  14. I beleive it's on the CCGB website, there's a data section for each type's details/history/performance etc....http://www.corradoclub.co.uk
  15. Personally I would say avoid Avons! A favourite of mine is Continental Sportcontacts, but never seen anyone else here mention them. I like 'em anyway....looking forward to my front Avon ZV1's wearing out so I can fit the Conti's all round
  16. if you get stuck give us a call and ill try and sort you out over the phone... Even though my current C doesn't have a charger (16v, 'the original and best' :D ), I have to say I'm very impressed with that comment, nice one!
  17. Awful, the least they could do is remove any reference to 'it' being a Corrado when they so soundly f#ck up a beautifully proportioned original design! Saw one of those lovely 'meccanno' abortion spoliers recently nailed to the back of an otherwise standard Peugeot saloon shopping trolley / kids run car. What the hell is the point, do these people honestly think anyone else looks at the scaffolding strapped to the back of their car and thinks anything other than ...'w#nker'! Don't mind some mods of course, provided there is some aesthetic merit or judgement involved, but these all stink IMO.

    Coolant types

'Preston Coolant' eh, sounds like something a dodgy northern mechanic might put in your car after a heavy night on the town! Seriously though, all I would do is take off the expansion tank cap (engine cold!), set heater to 'max', undo the bottom hose at the rad, then let it drain fully. Disconnect top rad hose, insert water hose and flush it through, could also undo an engine hose and flush this through as well. Reconnect all disturbed hoses, Fill system with new fluid mix to 'max' on expansion tank, re-fit cap, run engine for a few minutes, re-top up to 'max' mark, run engine until fan cuts in, visually check level is OK and check for leaks at disturbed pipes. Let engine cool, and ensure cold level is between min/max level.

'No such things as G12+'! Yeah right, strange cos that's what I use. As Henny says reckon he was trying to get rid of old stock, good ol' stealers, will they ever change?! it's better and fully miscible (...!) with G11 or G12
  21. Bit late on this thread, but I was losing water from the front flange on my 16v (similiar to G60 maybe?). 'O' ring was veeeery flat after ten years plus of being bolted against a flat mating surface. Took some finding though, as when engine was cold water seeping in fairly large area, as soon as fired engine up and block got warm leak evidence dries out! If it's the same as on a 16v, I'd get some new flange bolts as well. I had to chisel the old aluminium flange off around the corroded stuck allen head bolts. Just about managed to free the old allen bolts off (thank God!). The new replacement flange item is now plastic, and the bolts are hexagon head rather than allen head, so I'm not the first to struggle it seems! Good luck, if that's what it is. Mark
  22. But that's a Land Ro..........., oh, yeah!
  23. Ah, JULESZ, a kindred spirit in the supermarket
  24. Nice one, agree about the C should be fetching more money. Not to worry, in a few years time when the thrashed and trashed have all disappeared, reckon they will be on the up again in value.
  25. Mr Moderator, just looked at the excellent buying guide, can I propose two additions please....?! I always look for these two items as well ,from past experience, might be worth including?..... Suspension :- - Under rear wheel arches, at shock absorber top spring plate, check for corrosion and ensure there is a gap between the plate the top of the strut spring sits in, and bodywork. Bodywork :- - At rear bodywork just above rear bumper, check the two vertical 'seams' at each side of the rear panel are perfect, straight, even and with no bubbling/rust coming through (possible evidence of poor rear end damage repair).
