  1. Worth saying while we'r'e on the subject, stick to genuine VAG group filters, as they have a non-return valve which keeps some oil in the 'top' of the engine ready for the next start-up of the engine, cheaper non-VW filters tend not to have this feature.
  2. BTW, looks like you may also be missing the plastic membrane which is stuck all round the door edges under the door cards, without this you will get rainwater dripping down and wetting the lower edges of the door cards. May as well replace these if you take the door cards off (bout £15 each from VW as I recall. People often think the seals on the door outer side against the glass are a water seal, not so, the plastic membranes under the door cards which people often remove or tear fitting speakers etc are important in stopping water. Just a thought.
  3. Haha, knew someone would bite at that one  Because being disabled isn't a choice, having a child is! Sorry, it's only my bloody minded opinion after having a run in with a managaress at Sainsburys. Never seen why the rest of the world should have to park further away and someone else who happens to have chosen to have a child gets to park nearer. Obviously disabled people however have a valid reason to need to park nearer. BTW I have had a child!.... ......running for cover now! BTW, before this goes too off topic, has there been a noticeable performance improvement with the air mod.?
  4. Oh my God, hope nobody at my work saw that programme     ....why cant they just buy bloody old Volvos instead?
  5. Parking across tossy Mother & Baby' spaces I can agree with.... , but not Disabled Bays! :x Cold air mod looks good, but as the man says, the door locks will now corrode / dull. Can always fit some 'late' black plastic lock covers instead though!
  6. Surely there wont be a Corrado in anything like as bad condition as that on here....in a Golf I think it's permissible, in a Corrado, sacrilege
  7. Me too, try right click, 'save as' etc, worked OK for me. Nice video, you guys obviously have too much money, free time, sunshine, and great driving roads...lucky! P.S Euq..She's a beauty, and the girl in your Avatar ain't too bad either! :)
  8. Damn site better than buying a new one!
  9. I'm a Technical Services Engineer with KLM subsidiary. Tied to a desk, but still got toolbox and tools, just in case! :D Lot of technical people on here....so....., does that mean our technical training means we can appreciate the design of the C, or that we need to be technical to keep it going?!
  10. Yeah, yeah, whatever....huff LOL!
  11. No-one's said the wife / g.friend etc yet! 'Anyone from Hollyoaks except the ginger one' good call....Hollyoaks, it's what 'man-size' tissues were invented for!, ahem, so i'm told...
  12. Yep, I had a leaky sender do the same thing on an old Mk2 Golf I had years ago, it's always nice when an oil leak is an easy fix! Going back even further as a 'yoof' I used to run a clapped out but fun Mk1 Ford Escort, put up with an oil leak for a year, never quite got round to looking in to the problem, just topped it up every week....turned out to be a minute hole in the oil filter! How we laughed!  One eskimo to another...'looks like youv'e blown a seal!.... ......'nah mate, it's only milk'
  13. Nice to see your name back in these circles...
  14. Should have seen the look of panic on my face yesterday, 5000 plus revs on a large roundabout, slipping into third...then realised in my haste had somehow very nearly gone in to reverse!....yeouwch..
  15. Yep, I agree with the above too, high revving is normal for all 16v engines surely. Feels like you are thrashing them a bit, but they really come to life at higher revs, especially 5000plus rpm. Warm the engine up fully then go for a good high rev blat and you should feel the difference when the motor really starts spinning! Dont redline it though, obviously! Mind you, first gear at 5000RPM, why would you want to do that?! I'm talking about 5000RPM in 3rd/4th etc. as you accelerate....>
  16. Couldn't have said it better myself :) Modern stuff just doesn't do a lot for me, R32 / RS4 etc included
  17. Another plus of Corrado ownership, all the interesting new people you end up contacting all over the UK as you accrue a personal stock of spare bits 'just in case'..
  18. Mines pearlescent too, as I see it that's same as metallic, i.e. lacquered. :?:
  19. That's more to the point, you DO NOT want to use too much elbow grease and rub through the lacquer! There are other cutting compounds available specifically for 'metallic' finishes, which I have found to be fine. I think they are less abrasive than the norm. I'm no expert, but I've used these 'mettalic' versions of T-Cut OK, just don't go too far and penetrate the lacquer is all I would say really.
  20. Jeez, things at VW aint what they used to be....take a look at some of Lupo and newer Golf reviews. I'm sticking with the old school. Corrado looks good, apart from the review by the guy who totally missed the point. :? Not the car's fault he didn't check it out before he bought it, and someone else scraped it.....clever! Fancy redressing the balance and putting a few more 'peach' reviews in for the good 'ol C?! :D
  21.   Oh well, I tried!
  22. After alll the hard work are you really sure you want to go to all the trouble of adding leather as well, gonna be soooo much trouble mate, come on, I'll give you £551 for it , go on, you know you want to!
  23. Oh yeah, Jenna Jameson that's a good one, what about Ali Bastian though...? ! Anything but the bl##dy Cheeky Girls!
  24. Just a thought, don't know what made me think of it, but....if you had to go on a long road trip in your C, who would you choose as your ideal passenger seat companion? :) For me it would have to be Gwen Stefani (assuming Kylie's already booked up of course!)
