I'm guessing these were the usual front ended C's that turn up very occasionally at scrappys, so my question could be rather stupid, but......I'm after an early nearside headlight reflector, not fussed about the glass, as it's just the reflector thats yellowing. Not sure if the later headlights had the same reflectors as the early C's, but if you take a gander /get a price I would appreciate it. BTW, how far is this breaker from Norwich, where is it please? Would it be worth a day trip?

A HAAAAaaaaaa!    Easier to go round ring road to Comet if you want to pick up your additional supplementary speakers ap pro po achieving surround sound these days! Nice one... :D

SimonU, Blimey, that's a bit mean! I think theyr'e not bad myself, trouble is they do tend to look a bit like plastic wheel trims to joe public I guess. How about some 1.8 16v / Golf Rallye type Sebrings instead as an alternative but still within the VW range?

Nice one kevhaywire, winter in Norfolk is grim, but when Summer comes, wahay, it's letch central down the muff metropolis (sorry ladies!) that is Norwich city centre on a sunny day! At least I can walk in rather than risk driving. Traffic lights on Chapelfield roundabouts, what a top idea!
-
Here , here Fletcher, agree with you....'bad boy', 'phat' etc, on a C! :nono: Mo -Youl'l wake up one morning and find the mod justice police will have taken your C and replaced it with a Saxo or a Honda! Don't do it!
-
Don't suppose your going to Inters? Should be a good place to get them cheap, but bit of a trek for you I'm guessing
-
Seems all too common in good 'ol Norfolk too mate, one of my pet hates, moron's going right in the left hand lane of roundabouts... WTF! I find it just beyond belief how people can think it's right to do so, especially when they try to drive through people legitimately going straight over in the right hand. Another great one is when they are going straight over in the left hand lane, but reckon you have to always indicate right until you get to the exit you want, and then quickly indicate left.....talking about making me twitchy!

Rear Mount Bike Carrier for the Corrado......
kvwloon replied to kvwloon's topic in General Car Chat
Cheers kevhaywire, 100mph eh, that inspires confidence, at the moment I am constantly checking in the rear view mirror that it's all attached still, as doesn't feel natural having all that strapped to the back, seems to do a good job though. -
Rear Mount Bike Carrier for the Corrado......
kvwloon replied to kvwloon's topic in General Car Chat
Yep, it clears the moving spoiler easily when adjusted to suit the C. ' Nice spoiler', , yeah, i'm thinking of leaving it as a permanent fit with nice aluminium side plates, in a 'ricer' stylee! -
Had some trouble finding a rear mount cycle carrier that will clear the spoiler on the Corrado, Thule don't do one, but Halfords do this 3 cycle high mount one, about £49, which is adjustable enough to clear the rear plate and the moving spoiler. Thought I'd post this in case someone else is looking for a suitable carrier, now Summer is getting here......

Both of mine had been like that for nearly two years now, as don't think worth lashing out for new ones, no problems. Recently replaced one from a scrappy, just waiting for another one to turn up whenever, maybe at Inters!
-
G60 dan, just love the 'feel' of that photo, if you know what I mean, seems to embody what VW ownership is all about, or am I losing the plot!
-
Ah, OK!, perhaps, maybe.....I'll get me coat :)
-
Personally, not to my taste, although I'm pretty conservative where body mods are concerned (apart from my current project to fit LED brake light in the rear spoiler!), think it says Saxo racer too much IMO
-
Looks pretty good to me, in good colour, with aircon, and same owner for a reasonable time, could well be alright!
-
Don't like the sound of that at all! White wheels, nearly as bad as black wheels IMO. What next , green milk? some things just aint right! :D
-
I'm normally too busy driving to notice, but according to g.friend people of all sorts do take a look at the car (yep, even a humble valver!) Could just be checking out the driver I 'spose! 8) I'm guessing 40% young women, 40% yooofs, and the rest a mixed bag of older people who wanted one when they first cam e out, or don't know what it is but admire the lines.
-
I reckon you need to put some more holes in, think I ended up with about 16 in total, at a guess.
-
Won't damage the car at all, all you are doing is putting a few holes in a plastic moulding the air filter sits in (follow the instructions as per the 'supercharged junkie' post). Not only is it cost effective and easy, but it sounds bloody good too. All I would say is don't welly in there and make the airbox a swiss cheese. I drilled a few holes , took her for a run, decided it was too quiet, put a few more holes in, etc, etc, until it sounded just to my liking. Have heard of one instance where too many holes were drilled by a guy and it was too loud for his taste. Guarantee youl'l like it, if induction roar is what your after! :D
-
Ah of course, suppose the Mocal just runs the oil through it's air-cooled matrix, without water being involved....knew I was missing the point somewhere! Anyway, hope I have kind of helped, somehow, and that you solve it!
-
How about drilling the airbox (assuming it's the same set up as a 1.8 16v), cheap option too, and sounds good! Scottish Corrado webiste has a section on doing it (can't remember the address, but Google will)
-
Hmmm, don't shoot me down in flames coz i'm guessing you guys are far more up on this than me to start with, buuuuuut, ....to my logic, surely if you know the water system is all good, it can ONLY be a lack of adequate cooling from the Mocal, either because the Mocal isn't getting enough cooling airflow, or the design of the Mocal can't handle the extra heat transfer on it's own. I thought the Mocal was more intended as an additional supplement to the original oil cooler, rather than a replacement? Is it feasible to temporarily de-bypass the original oil cooler, and run the Mocal as an addition to see if things improve? I know I'm going to get shot down in flames now, I'm no engine expert, just thinking out loud.......

Front engine mount gone! Nice egg in bonnet! Now fixed :-)
kvwloon replied to stormseeker's topic in Engine Bay
I love the way the foam sound-proofing on the bonnet, which may have just reduced the damage a bit, stops right just short of where the engine hits! -
As a temporary measure it is possible to just neatly trim off the perished bits the full length of the rubber. Doesn't look great, but at £30 up apiece new :!:

Hmmm, and for us 16 valvers, how easy are the tensioners to change as a DIY job whilst doing cambelt, as mine must be due renewal by now. All sounds OK though, but guess these can give up the ghost without too much warning?
