  1. Thanks for your replies, its 1.8 16V. I will get the blue temp sender changed at weekend, this overfueling suggestion could be correct as when it stalls and i fire it back up it runs lumpy for a second as if theres too much fuel being used (and the fuel gauge agrees). Im hoping its related to the temp needle not getting passed 75'c too. The reason why i though it could be the accelerator cable is when im driving if a keep a constant light pressure on the pedal it doesnt cut out, and yes that means braking with my left foot!! Thanks
  2. Bump, ive also thought about tightening the accelerator cable???
  3. Hi, thanks for the reply, ive found the water leak, minor leak which has been fixed. I thought i had fixed the idle issue over the weekend but it must have been a temorary mircale. its still doing the same problem, but ive noticed lots of fuel being used and a lot of poppong coming from the exhaust, also when on the motorway my temp needle is sat at the lowest, when pottering round town it struggles to rise above 80. Could this be the blue temp sender you have mentioed?
  4. Bump, c'mon peeps. Need to try and get this sorted this weekend. Thanks
  5. Hi, I need some advice please. My 16V is having a fall out with me at the moment. Its failing to sit at idle and either stalls or over idles. When the car has to idle (out of gear/sat stationary) it cuts out. When i start it again it idles very roughtly at 2.5k. Then i drive away and the process begins again when i stop again. Ive got my tool kit with me and a 30 min lunch coming up today. Can anyone advise what things i can check. My thoughts was the ISV?? also i replaced the return pipe from the heater matrix a few weeks back but i can think that would be an issue, Oh and also it seems to lose water quickly, theres no water in the footwell or anything like that, every now and again i see steam rising from the bonet, im hoping its just a split pipe.
  6. You need to get a picture of his car now or request your insurance to do a report on both vehicles. They comment on directon of travel and positioning of cars. Id fight it, the ones who are to balme always get found out.
  7. Do u know the Lexus Garage on Bury Road? Im 30 seconds from there. Im free pretty much anytime in the evening, but im sure it will be dark by then. Or if you want to wait until weekend we can meet up and you can have a look to give u an idea of what you need to be looking for when searching for your next buy.
  8. Yeah no worries mate, im just off Bury Road so its just a 10 min drive. Let me know if im needed
  9. I know, just being lazy, he said theres only 2 to choose from, feeder and retun, so he ordered both and then will check when i take the car to collect. Cheers for the help lads.
  10. Bump - Can anyone help with the part numbers not being supplied on vag-cat?
  11. Also would this cause my heaters to blow warm air instead of hot? and my dials steam up every now and again. This could have been the cause. Checked vac-cat and theres no part number for 16 or 17. does anyone have any suggestions.
  12. Thanks D-Bug. so i can just buy the pipe (16) and nothing more, give it to my mechaninc and he can fix it. That simple?
  13. Yeah i could do, but its a timescale issue with me. I soppose i could email them the pic and see if they can identify it.
  14. Bump, can anyone tell me which hose it is?
  15. Oh yeah, its where the white tape is too. PTFE tape has made it drivable for now.
  16. Hoping this works, managed to email my self. Thanks for the reply tho v-dub.
  17. Hi Thanks for your reply, would you say your very sure its number 7 before i get it ordered? ive had my mates look and none of us can identify it. Probably because we have no knowledge on motors. My last idea would be for me to txt the picture to someone who could possibly post it up here?? Just tried myself but my phone is poo. Cheers
  18. Thanks for the advice guys, ive got on there and looked at the diagram but im struggling to idenitfy which is the correct hose. ive managed to get a pic which i cant upload either. So if someone could be a life saver and i could txt the image and they could possibly identify the hose or i could try to descibe where it is.... here goes.. 1.8 KR. the hose is directly below the dizzy cap, quite big and thick. (no puns please) at attached to another at the back of the bay by a metal join. Hope someone can help please.
  19. Strange, for some reason the pic doesnt even show now im at home. Good idea takin the part down but i use my C as a daily and need the car running for as long as possible. Are parts still available from VW or is it stealers only?
  20. I hope too pal, as im at work our security wont let me view the image so will have a look when i get home.

    Water Leak

Hello Ive found a leak from a pipe on my 16V. Just like a pin prick, losing water quick, steamy ect. What i need is a diagram of the water pipes so i can identify the correct one and get a replcament. Thankyou
  22. Hi Mate Drive Assist cant legally accept offers on your behalf. There only a credit hire org. When you agree to the pre-accident value they should get you to sign for the agreed amount. If you have not signed you can still have your say. Drive Assist may ask you to accept this payment as an interim payment and they will negotiate the rest, but dont agree to this, they will give you the lower amount, take thier car back and leave you to it. Seriously you will be kicking yourself if you dont negotiate, when you do your conversion and monies run low or some things seem expensive, you will stop and think, imagine if i got an extra £800 - £1000 for my old VR. I could have bought some nice new, expensive rims. :norty:
  23. Hi Thanks for your reply, the last bit is what i mean, making a ET45 into a ET35. 10mm spacer. Thankyou.
