Have the sumps been off your cars in recent years? Oil pump pick up gauze filters beginning to block and restrict flow?

You need uprated anti roll bars to counteract the body roll, keep the same ride height and only a slight increase in harshness.

possible write-off ... how do i get the car and keep the cash
Dox replied to Oldtax's topic in General Car Chat
You'll just have to follow the process now set out by your insurance co, they share info between themselves so don't try and cover anything up would be recommendation. Cat A = crush only (flood water fire or very heavily damaged beyond recognition) Cat B = is break only (the only way around this is to export and reimport in due course) Cat C = uneconomical repair using new parts, the MOT is normally void and will need a Vehicle Identity Check "VIC", its not a check of roadworthiness, its a check to ensure the car hasn't been cloned or repaired using stolen parts (keep all receipts of parts and work done to prove the repairs are legit). Cat D = uneconomical repair using new parts or labour - paintwork alone can cause a car of low value to be an uneconomical repair, no need for a VIC or to re mot. I suspect yours will be classed at Cat C -
Not the heavy cable direct to the battery, the thinner one from the ignition switch http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Voltage-tester-6v-12v-/171230454473?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item27de2162c9 Get something like this for your toolbox

The wishbones are designed to bend to prevent damage to the shell / subframe. The rack may be damaged too If it goes through insurance and they allow a buy back (some don't) typical buy back cost would be 10-20% of pre accident value -

Has the wishbone deformed or snapped? -
Wiggle keys in the ignition whilst cranking? Are you getting 12V on the thin wire to the starter with the ignition switch cranked to the starting position?

288mm MK4 callipers / carriers + MK4 rear Callipers used
Dox replied to Dox's topic in Parts for Sale
Theyre mk4 hoses but youre welcome to have them. Paypal prefered. -
MK4 spec 288mm callipers and carriers £30 + P&P Myhermes £7? MK4 rear callipers and nearly new pagid pads (no carriers, mk4s don't fit Corrados) £30 + P&P Myhermes £7? See the Wiki for fitment details, both come with the banjo bolts, but will need conversion hoses to suit Corrado Disclaimer Used brake hydraulics sold as all good but sold on the basis that they are for exchange purposes only unless you deem them fit for use as is - you fit them, you crash because of brake failure don't blame me! Thanks

You can buy a coil pack engine and just swap the dizzy bits over to widen your search

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/Vehicle-Parts-Accessories-/131090/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=golf+battery+cover Early A3 too by the look of it You need to check the physical size of the battery and cover chosen are compatible
-
Early MK4 golf V5 had the fabric covers, if you've fitted a larger than standard battery the original cover wont fit anyway.
-
It usually states glass cover, but you'll have an excess to pay and as its not broken so you can't claim Bodyshops often use mobile fitters to remove glass, they won't guarantee that they'll remove the glass without breaking it, are you talking about the hatch glass or the quarter glass?

The Bentley is aimed at cars in the USA, you may find they fit a larger rad with aircon as the aircon rad sits in front of the coolant rad reducing the airflow or heating the air about to go through the coolant rad if the aircon is in use
