At 70 degrees the thermostat will open sending coolant to the radiator, does the rad get hot? Do the top and bottom rad hoses get hot? It sounds like the rad may be blocked or have restricted flow

I need a commitment to collect before weds next week, the shell will be gone for scrap at the latest next Thursday. Others are also welcome to remove the shell for free should the OP decide not to take it, the V5 must be transferred to your name! The only rust on the arches is on the front where the arc meets the flange of the sill, they all tend to go here. If it wasn't for the rot around the screen I'd be keeping the shell

A new coolant pump is around £45 and would be my next port of call, I've seen pics of them with no fins left to pump the coolant around.....
-
When you say you've flushed it do you mean disconnecting coolant pipes and flushing the rad, block, heater matrix etc with a hose pipe? Some antifreeze types don't mix and create a jelly like substance. The main coolant pump is belt driven, there's an electric pump that should run for a short while when the ignition is turned off

Its a 1990 G60 shell, the tailgate is rotten, I have a green tailgate I bought to replace it

If you get a trailer you can have the whole shell for free. You'd have to complete the V5 to transfer it to your name The front screen has some rot similar to yours, but you could cut out enough good bits to repair yours? The rear panel has the VW badge smoothed, rear arches very good and the rear valance is very good too. Front inner wings and sills are also good. The shell is grey The shell is rolling but I want front and rear running gear off it once its on the trailer To cover time and cutting discs etc both arches will be £50 plus P&P - I'd rather you take the shell for free TBH

For others reference, this is the moonroof that came with hennys g60 The glass roof fits the hole in the roof, but the profile of the rear edge of the glass panel does not match the curvature of the roof skin - the glass at each side sits too low And the part code on the glass hatch itself - I'm not sure what model the roof came from

I can do them, I'm a bit of a treck from Worcester tho

Venom offered me AP fixed height for my daily MK4 golf estate for £270, but I went with H and R fixed height for £360, I'm impressed so far/ AP adjustables are well rated by Octavia owners on briskoda Found this whilst looking for the ap thread http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/300585-dpm-present-st-suspension-by-kw/

Bought the mini comps for 100. Locked

The non return valve prevents oil from the top end of the engine ( oil feeds for cam / followers / chains / tensioners) returning to the sump when the engine is turned off so that the oil pressure to them when cranking is almost instantaneous.

I'm going to view some mini comps on sunday

Tyre pressures ok?

Buy a couple of scaffold planks to go on top of the gravel, it makes wheeling car around a doddle. I've even used decking boards, pieces of ply or OSB

I think you'll struggle to sell the grey one as is, there's a lot of decent cars hanging around that just aren't selling. The pillar will be much worse once the screen is out. I'd expect to pay £1K for replacement metal and paint job for the kind of job where rust wont be showing though after a few months. I like the rarity of the grey car even though I own a green one :)

Most modern engines have sai (secondary air injection), the oxygen in the air causes the cat to heat up quicker and do its job more efficiently quicker. The fans on 1.8Ts only run for around 90 seconds on start up and after a few years they leak at the point where the 2 halves are riveted together sounding like an exhaust manifold leak that suddenly goes away when the hairdryer like fan turns off.
