Want one, shame they still go for so much  The Ring isnt really indicative of UK driving either LOL ie smooth and fast  M3 is much more suited to where i live in the Peak anyway. Admit its horses for courses though.

As well as an MX5 I wouldnt mind one of these.....

Why oh why oh why did you have to do that! LOL :( That is awesome. Basically exactly what I want! Black minty fresh and 9000 aero alloys 8) -

One word: "WICKED!" (and its bad by modern stds but not ridiculously so) -
The price they quoted was a ball park figure. Just the pistons alone were coming to over £600 (from stealers) Best bet would still be a Vege engine I reckon and you maybe sell your head on. Shame I know but... How much do you trust your garage to do the work properly? £1000 is quite a lot to do a head gasket and not check the rest of the engine for wear (in my opinion)

I dont mind the 9000 but tbh the only Saab that really floats my boat is the 900 T16s  I only do 10 miles each way to work each day (perhaps cycle once or twice a week also) So just fancy an interesting daily to keep miles off the Corrado and something that I can take on the odd long journey. I guess a 900 may be a bit of a pipe dream for a daily... Always remember my mates car being really reliable (bar one he had that set on fire lol) that was about 8 years back now though -
Saw Purpletom Hi mate

Give them a call really helpfull http://www.vegeuk.com/index.php

Best thing about the M3 is its engine and agility. You cant say that about a M5 and 745D!
-
Thats a bit limited! How about a fave sub 20k coupes list: Corrado Z4 Coupe 968 Club Sport Audi UR Quattro Nissan 350Z (head hurts trying to think of another, do quite like them tho)

Would spend up to 2500 for right car. Bot too bothered about a power upgrade but would be good to have 220 bhp. Just holding out for right car I guess and not getting impatient..... Saw a mint red one in Scotland last week with 85k on clock but just missed it :( -
You cant compare an M3 to a Corrado, even a turbo charged one, sorry  Only thing you can do is drive it and see what you think. But I would much rather have 350bhp running through the rear wheels than through the front! Plus I dont think M3 drivers are dicks, they tend to drive the lower models made to look like M3's

Sounds like garage are taking the piss a bit. You can get a 'new' engine for £1750 from Vege Tricky one though, if rest of car is mint and you are keeping it for a while.....

They REALLY ARE that good and sound amazing to boot. As with all the M cars you need to make sure the VANOS has been done, particularly at that mileage. Get it! Matt

Hey useful info thanks! Do you think I could get away with running one as a daily now, they are getting on a bit........ Thanks Matt :) -
What do you do to improve on perfection  What happened with the 263's in the end mate?

Sure you will be fine :salute: Here are mine if you want to see what they look like

From Dubmeister: Our plates have been developed with a large plate manufacturer that supplies for example official Netherlands plates and serves other countries and manufactures to many differing standards world wide.. They don't have to be tested by BSI, just be designed to comply, and actually comply if tested, and this is what we have done. The BSAU 145d regulation has been finely gone through by our manufacturer and relevant sections have be exceeded or met, including a section specifically designed to exclude metal plates, which necessitated a subtle exclusive redesign of the metal base plate and different material to 'regular' Euro show plates, as well as altered letter tooling and lastly permanent laser marking of supplier info and maker info and the standard they are made to. They have been fully tested by our manufacturer and pre tested against the BS145d standard by the German DIN institute – (in case any major flaws we hadn’t picked up on), who have set up testing environments for BSAU145d now, are testing and will award a certificate to this effect on completion. We are fully satisfied they comply or exceed BSAU145d and have been told by a British Standards institute they can be marked as such if we are sure they comply by cross referencing DIN regs that duplicate/exceed sections of BS145d and amendments we have made, and they offered additional help if we needed, which we don't. No UK authority has the knowledge or means to test plates other than British Standard Institute. No Police or local authority can challenge a user as they are marked correctly as to comply, and that’s the end of it as far as prosecution of the user. If they want to test them they would have to send off to BSI and pay the £6000 to £15,000 fee...and result would be they pass anyway. Our dealers/suppliers take proper relevant driver/vehicle ID which is a major part of plates being legal, correct lettering and physical plate spec alone is not sufficient as prevention of vehicle cloning is probably the main issue in 'illegal' plates and prosecutions. So, we welcome any test to disprove our claim, which is that they do 100% fully comply when supplied by a DVLA registered licence plate supplier. Paul also commented: It was a long battle, we had to convince the German blank maker it was worth their while helping us, but they put a lot of R & D into it, and it was lucky they work with the DIN people on testing so closely. A £30,000 investment in laser marking was the final step.. Finished result is pleasing though... I run these on two cars (for past 18 months) and have never had any problems Matt P.S Sorry Andy for sending this thread in different direction. Your plates look very nice also
-
Because are illegal. Was stopped by police and got 14 days to replace them/ No no they are not  Dubmeister do legal ones fully stamped up and everything
-
Why not just get the metal pressed ones
-
Sounds like a plan

My best advice to you is to get a good auto leccy to apend half an hour looking at it for you. To save money take the door cars off before hand. He should be able to identify the problem pretty quickly. Spent hours and hours trying to identify why mine wasnt working. Turned up to be a break in the wire behind the dash ie I would never have found it! Matt
