I'm still interested in the bits we spoke about a long time ago Tom :) All best Matt -
:( Head gasket gone. Sell for parts or fix ? need help please
Leonard replied to Crispy Squirrel's topic in Engine Bay
Certainly not having a pop at the valver, but Mr Squirrel did state at the beginning of all this that he would like a VR. All Im saying is Corrados cost big money to put right and get up to scratch so he may as well start with a good base in the model that he really wants. -

Quite happy to be proved wrong, but I would be interested to see a list of costs to get it back on the road and in good daily working order. I will then show you the link to the C5 OEM advert ;) Whatever you do though enjoy the process Matt :) -

Sell it and buy a VR! You WILL end up spending a lot of money and TIME on your valver only to wish you had bought a tidy VR to start with...... Sorry but only calling it as I see it -

Personally I would cut your losses and sell it on for spares or repair. You have had at least had some fun out of it and you may get £600-800 pounds for it as it is. New owner may split it for parts but hey thats up to them. You have stated already that you would like a VR some time in the future so doesnt make any sense to me for you to throw money into your current valver. Get it sold, get a reliable runner for commuting and then buy a sorted VR if you still want one some time in the future when funds allow. All best with everything Matt -
I think the closest comparison you can make with this part is probably with BBS 301's and they are HIDEOUSLY overpriced. There are other wheels that offer the same performance, with the same quality for half the price. BUT - they are rare, fit perfectly and keep everything as OEM + as you can, being from the same era as Corrado. And that is worth a premium to most.

It is a K plate as well so reasonably early which will hurt value. 70k mileage is low though. But overall condition is more important. It doesn't look mint. But tidy it up and you may see 3-3.5k (because of low mileage) But then tidying it up may cost a grand! I quite like the green as well :)

Awesome! You know you cant get rid of that bad boy :D Matt :)
-
Would be relatively easy for a fabrication company I am sure. Let me know if you would like any photos or dimensions Matt
-
They look good :) Come on Pete sort out a GB, I want to drive my car again :D
-
Anyone had any luck with producing any 70L tank straps? Think I could do with some for my next MOT..... Cheers Matt
-
Vince @ Stealth can sort out anything you need for your VSR He has the pattern for making up the flap mechanism (doesn't make it himself though but can have it fabricated). My VSR didn't come with anything so I sourced an rpm controlled switch (£30 from USA) and Vince got me the vacuum flask (Mk2 Golf) and couple of other small bits. If I ever sold mine I'd be after circa £1300 (all new parts) so reckon price of yours dickie is getting there. Only issue I would say is the lack of the VW Motorsport cover. Mine runs fine on 1995 car as well. GLWS All best Matt

Hey bud how's it going? I have to find out they look pretty sweet don't you reckon? If I find out you can buy my Futuras to help fund them ;) LOL

Leonard replied to G60MAT's topic in Members Gallery
Nice one! Messy job that. Must admit I ended up scratching mine a little :( so may get some replacement sound deadening...... -
LOL glad your back on good form mate. Guess my Corrado wont be back out now until May next year! But if you wanna arrange a meet sometime and dont mind me bringing the Golf I'd be up for that. Hell may even bring my girlfriend for you to have a nosey at LOL
-
Car looks real nice bud. My tensioner was shot at 75k miles.... Cant imagine there are any Corrados left now that dont need chain and tensioners doing if still on original set! Nice to see you in a C again, although that 5 series was nice :)
-
Bloody hell whats going on Your car inspired me loads in the early years! What sort of chapter you going to be entering then mate?

Leonard's Corrado VR6 - 515bhp 5.9L's twin scroll turbo ;)
Leonard replied to Leonard's topic in Members Gallery
It will only be a replica obviously, but the itch has been there since top gun and highlander LOL. You not tempted by a change mate ;) You must have had your C for as long as I have had mine no? With the amount of work in yours though I can see why it would be a keeper. Must admit I would love to hand mine over to a sprog in 20 years time. Then again a 3L petrol car probably wont be allowed on the road by then and/or the kid would be severely disapointed with the old gal :D ---------- Post added at 08:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:48 PM ---------- For all you wheel whores..
