  1. Do you have the main drivers door seal. If it isnt split at the bottom I will take it. Jay
  2. Well done Judith. Nice to chat to you on Sunday and thanks for the cakes :) Car looked stunning as ever and it was nice to learn some of the history. Let me know about the stereo. Jay
  3. Good idea with the cable tie, might try that just out of interest. Adjustable damping obviously helps with the different models, but as Kev found out the springs fitted to coilovers are often too high a poundage for sensible ride heights and actually the poundage for say a 16v would probably be about right. Maybe 300lbs or so. We will see soon. Jay
  4. Managed to upload my pics from Stanford Hall this weekend. Was nice to finally get the car to a show, it scrubbed up OK after a day of paint correction :) Also fitted the new steering wheel and had the seat bolsters sorted too which has smartened up the interior a bit... Jay
  5. Yep I did them. Used 8mm bore SAE rated fuel line and constant tension fuel clips and it goes on perfect. No more smell of fuel on the drive to work! Jay
  6. Well the poly inserts have arrived!!! Annoyingly the stainless disc manufacturer messed up the order so they are still on the way, but should be here before the end of the week so I will be posting out Monday all going well. Jay
  7. Yep. Steering wheel and seats were done for Stanford hall. Need to upload my pics off the camera. Will do it tonight and post them up. Jay
  8. I have for sale a Corrado VR subframe and wishbones removed from my VR after one the wishbone bolts sheared off. The sheared off bolt is still in there as I simply don't have time to drill it out or get it removed. All straight and true as are the wishbones. Collected from Wilmslow in Cheshire £30 the lot. Jay
  9. I have for sale a complete Corrado rear beam to sell which I removed from my VR to fit my newly powder coated one, so I know it's straight etc.. It's literally as it came off, so is complete with brackets, calipers the lot, but clearly in need of a refurb. Ideal to use as a spare while you rebuild it to replace your own. Must be collected from Wilmslow in Cheshire. £45 Cheers Jay
  10. Captions for below.... No prize just for a giggle. :) Jay
  11. Because of the wrong springs I have not had chance yet to try them so I can't say 100% but I am intending to measure the stroke and the overall length to make sure they are running in the right part of the shock once they are on. Jay
  12. Yummy. Damn I need to get mine painted. :(
  13. So for anyone interested, I will be at Knutsford services for a coffee around 7:00 and then heading down the M6 to Jnct 20 and meeting up with everyone there before heading into the show.
  14. Get OEM. No need for poly, the damper and spring should do all the work. If an OEM top mount is getting destroyed something is wrong with the suspension setup, its only there for isolation from the shell. Poly ones are fine if you are after a bit more control over position of the strut during loadin, at the sacrifice of body isolation. Jay
  15. So after a load of fitting removing then fitting again, I am back to where I started with the front suspension. I fitted the front coilovers but kept on having to wind the platform higher and higher to the point where it just about sat high enough to drive and there was no adjustment left. Having done a bit of digging I have managed to find out the springs have been changed by someone for some short low poundage ones. Speaking to SPAX it turns out the springs are intended for a fiat punto! So SPAX are trying to find out what should be on there, but I think I will just sort my own springs as they are just 2 1/4 i.d springs which you can get from anywhere. So everything is back on as it was with the Koni struts and H&R springs for now and I will hopefully get them sorted next week. While I was playing around I thought I would take a couple of pics of how little is left on a Koni VR strut when running with the front at around 310mm from wheel centre to arch. Not much considering there is no bump stop in there.... For the coilovers I purposely bought non VR6 struts to make sure the length was short so when I do get the right springs it will give me plenty of travel at the height I run and allow the fitment of a nice long bumpstop. The struts are probably 2" shorter than the already shortened Koni struts. Jay Jay
  16. Good effort, but why are you flap wheeling it all when you are getting it all blasted anyway? It it to remove rust pitting? Jay
  17. I am not entirely happy with how my SPAX RSX are working on the front of my VR and wanted to check a few things with anyone running them. Jay
  18. I was promised delivery late this week early next, so I will keep chasing... Jay
  19. Of course I have, what garage is complete without a "to do list" whiteboard :) Fitting the front coilovers tonight :) Jay
  20. I may have fixed it? At least its been OK for 15mins since I clicked on the "ad choices" in the banner at the top and set the preferences on google to not use my info for the ads.... Jay
