Renshaw project (probably going to sell / swap)
24V Renshaw replied to 24V Renshaw's topic in Members Gallery
The wheel is all solid and complete, just a bit worn on the usual places, so he is going to sort that along with the seats. LOL. The car is nowhere near concours mate, especially the paint which is next after I am happy with the interior. To be honest I don't want/expect it to be, it gets driven 50 miles minimum a day, so its pointles.. I just want it all how it should be, mechanically and cosmetically. The rear beam is already filthy :) I am really enjoying how solid it feels now with all the fixes on the interior. Its better than most modern cars I get driven in now. Jay -

Cheers Chris. The seats and the new steering wheel are next on the agenda. One of my neighbours is a furniture repairer and has taken the wheel to "refresh" it and will be doing the same with the seats. They are pretty good considering, but are just starting to go so he will be sorting them before Stanford too. Jay -
As per the title, does anyone have a Momo boss to sell? Jay

Was getting frustrated with the state of the carpet which had clearly never been cleaned in the cars 17 year life. having not had chance to remove the seats and clean everything properly and with Stanford hall coming up in a week or so, I took the opportunity this evening to sort it... Not a pretty sight... Much better This is the difference it made, the dark patch is not wet, just clean!! Then came the passenger side, equally filthy! But it came up like new :) What 17 years worth of grime looks like! Jay -

A lot of people don't use them as daily cars so they only come out occasionally. I see two or three regularly on my drive to work and around town. Jay -

Have you got tapatalk running on an iPad or iPhone? Mine has been really bad at times on IE, but when I switch off tapatalk properly it seems ok.... Jay -
The first pics are the factory/dealer fit immobiliser box. I have just had to remount mine as detailed in my build thread. Looks like yours is loose too. The little connectors off the fuse box look very like a phone kit to me. The last one is a little auxiliary connector block which they all have, not exactly sure why. Jay

The elimination of rattles continued this weekend. While doing the "fixed column" mod I removed the lower undertray and found the dealer fit immobiliser box held loosely in with one screw. Definitely a source for a clunk and a knock over bumps, so that is being secured properly. Hoping my front coilovers will be arriving today, but I am sitting in departures about to fly to Norway so wont be able to fit them until Wednesday night. Jay -
Steering Column Mod - Quick, Effective and Cheap!
24V Renshaw replied to somersetdub's topic in Drivetrain
Did this today. Worked really well. Just for a tip, drill the hole from the back, all you have to do is remove the dashboard undertray and you have easy access to drill the 6mm hole. Jay -
If you have R32 bushes they dont use the sleeve. As for the torque settings I am sure I used the higher ones, but might be wrong.... Jay

Mine is a metal rocker cover and the seal part number is 021 103 483D which I think is actually the wrong one.. Back to the dealers today. I didn't buy the OEM bushes from one shop, I just bought them as they came up on eBay in general. Jay
