  1. Well Jim, give me your MK4 and some cash and its yours :) My favourites this year in the UK for different reasons are OSV - Just something right about this car (but not with the black BBS's) Kev's - Tidy car, nice power, similar ideas to mine about quietness and tightness. Lee's - Just because its the only "show" corrado out there at the mo Jay
  2. Gets better every time I see it mate. Sweet. Jay
  3. LOL. I might get 215/35's when I need new ones, but I don't want to change anything as I have finally got it so it "never" rubs, which driving it every day is sooo nice. I really love the stretched look too :) Jay
  4. LOL. Nice flat discs are fine, even the fan bits are easy to clean! :) Jay
  5. One word mate. Nightmare. I hope it all comes together mate, looking forward to this one as you know. Jay
  6. WOW thanks Furkz! I did have to seriously think about them when I saw them with great big tyres on Corvettes, but I am well happy with them. Washing the salt off them today I realised why I got rid of the split rims. :) Jay
  7. Krazee - The tyres are 205/40/17 on 8.5x17 wheels, bit of a stretch by they go on. :) I have rolled the front arch lips and trimmed the rear arches, but thats it, no flaring or anything. Because of the stretch they never rub even at the ride height it runs, exactly how I wanted it. Logical - Glad to hear it mate. :)
  8. Cleaned my wheels because I couldn't be ar5ed to wash the whole car, but I didn't want the salt digging into them too much. Oh and tightened up a slightly loose inner CV joint which I noticed was clicking. Jay
  9. Well in my experience by changing the Corrado's running gear to MK4 engine and a different dash etc.. you don't lose the character of the Corrado at all. You are still running exactly the same chassis and suspension geometry which is what gives the car its character on the road. The feel inside the car is still the same as the high window line, the high centre tunnel and sloping screen is what makes a corrado interior. I think the biggest thing about the Corrado though is the look on the outside and now matter whats underneath everyone knows its a Corrado. Jay
  10. WOW, thanks Jim :) I think the car is well executed, but I don't like the wheels, the front bumper, the arches or the wing mirrors. Interesting how people find one car ticks all the boxes... Jay
  11. LOL. Cheers Greeny, that was just a bit of a laugh as so many people ended up coming along so Elliot thought it would be funny to get us all in the car. The guy in the passenger seat is my mate Nick who painted the car with me as mentioned in the mag feature. The guy behind him is my mate Charlie a VW nut I have know for years now through VW's and the young lad is Ben (he is a work mate of Nicks who came along to see what happens as he is just getting into dubs having bought a MK1). Jay
  12. Grey Rado on 17's near Manchester city centre. Reg something like D1GSIE, I gave the thumbs up and your passegers did too. :) Jay
  13. You can change the idle speed on later cars using vag-com (I played with mine), but not on earlier ones as far as I know. I guess thats where your mate was getting confused. Jay
  14. Mine is £560 a year fully comp with protected NCB. Its fully declared with all mods and everything detailed. I am 26 and its my only car. I am currently insured with Adrian Flux, but was with Brentacre before that and HIC before that. Jay
  15. EIP kit is useless for RHD cars, it doesn't even get close to fitting. Not that I am looking into it or anything..... :) Jay
  16. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?& ... 7#23037037 Will be a serious motor if it gets finished...
  17. What about MX5 mirrors......:) Jay
  18. How many of you boys are there on the Isle of Man! Do you have a competition running to see who can get a 24v first :) You can have mine for £14K if you want :) Jay
  19. Cheers Andy. Its "Safe Six" isn't it? Alex didn't understand why they used that title, I had to explain to her it was because its a V6. Then she didn't get the 24/7 title for the feature, so i had to explain it was a 24v and I use it 24/7. Girls??! :) Jay
  20. LOL Yeah, bit of filler it should be fine :) It will have a nice shiny new door, window glass, new rubbers!! :) latches etc.. under the other guys insurance. Sorry for the thread hijack Lee. :) Jay
  21. To be honest I just park it where it won't get dinged. It might mean having to walk from the other end of the carpark at Tesco, but at least it means no-one opens their door on it. With regard to the engine, I just go over that with a cloth at the same time as washing the car, keeps things clean and I have no polished ally/chrome etc.. to worry about :) My car was painted 4 years ago and this is the only parking dent I have :) You can see by the state of the wheels its used every day! Thats why they are lacquered and not polished! Jay
  22. I must admit me being me, I just could not get on a bus every day knowing I had a car like yours sitting at home. :) Maybe I am just too much of a poser! 8) Jay
  23. You don't need them, you can use Maplins central locking actuators (£6 each) and I can give you the wiring connections so it all works like a MK4. :) Jay
