  1. Go 24v you will never regret it when you experience the low end torque! However it will definately cost more than £1000, unless you are very very lucky. Jay
  2. Yep ignition switches are always incredibly unreliable on older VW's. Try pulling the plug off the back of the ignition barrel and joining the red/black and red wires together with something. If the car cranks you know its the switch. Jay
  3. Make me an offer :) I think the only thing I would want to change to would be a 993 Porker. To me its the next step up from a C. Jay
  4. Well I like all the covers :) Can't think why. I do like Jims though, very nice mate. Would definately be up for one. Jay
  5. It was didsbury high street. I saw a green VR tonight with speedlines though, just past the Parrswood cinema on the A34. Jay
  6. Two in Didsbury tonight, a Red one and a dark green one. Couldn't see much detail as it was dark. Jay
  7. No worries mate. Give me a shout when you want me to have a look at that loom for you. Jay
  8. Some cool piccies people took of my motor at the Stealth Rolling road day. Happy to say my 24v is running at standard power, 200BHP @ 6330RPM and 197lb/ft of torque @ 3300RPM GRRRRRUUUUUNNNNNNTTTTTTT :) :).
  9. I have the phone number 01728 747900, they are in Norfolk somewhere. Jay
  10. I don't think they have a website. I did the bottom half of the dash, door pods and rear parcel shelf supports etc.. Jay
  11. billinjahg60 - Bradleys Plastic supply the paint to any colour you want. Send them a sample and they match it. Not cheap but you get a OE finish and its very hard wearing. Furkz - LOL I didn't notice that! :)
  12. I am amazed how the soft water oop narf makes washing a car so much easier than darn sarf! It was a joy today! Worst bit is the bit at the back of the turrets in the engine bay. Jay
  13. Is the knackered bearing not because of wobbling inner CV?
  14. agree with Supercharged TSW Hockenheim 2's. My mate used to have some on his MK2 about 5 years ago.
  15. Kev, I know you know your stuff about VR's and my experience is only of the 24v really, but you said it yourself here.... http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 88&start=0 A faulty engine speed/crank sensor doesn't only make the car not start. Jay
  16. Just check the crank sensor when its hot and cold. They do result in a non starting engine, but not always. Quite often they are fine until they get hot and then they start to break down and don't give a consitant signal, resulting in poor running. Its just another thing to check before buying a new ECU. Jay
  17. The symptoms sound like the Engine Speed (crank position) sensor (g28)which can be checked for the resistance between pins 1/3. It should be under 1000ohms if I remember correctly. Jay
  18. I have never had any problems with them, but I have never bought anything too major from there, just bits and pieces. jay
  19. LOL. :) That would be Trents the breakers then! I used to constantly be in there digging for bits I needed. They are a sound bunch and got to see the whole thing build up literally bit by bit! :) Jay
  20. A couple of mates of mine Jim and Simon run it and I can recommend them so far....
