  1. was out in the c today when it got stuck in reverse. i managed to get it out of reverse with a bit of brutality but now cant select 1st or 2nd. trying to select 1st gets it into reverse and you cant pull it down for 2nd at all. :censored: 3,4,and 5 all select fine any ideas whats wrong? im new to cable change, have always had rod change vw in the past

  3. looks like a post in the wanted section is needed :lol: anyone wanna sell me a brace :norty: i take it its bolted to the cat, then uses those pressed nuts on the heat shield studs?
  4. is there supposed to be a brace that goes across the cat and bolts onto the heatshield studs on the g60's? was under mine the other day and theres some redundant threaded holes and studs :lol:
  5. hi, i have a j reg g60 that needs a new fan control box, does anyone know the part number i need? unfortunately half of it has worn off on mine!

  7. i noticed the other day that the fuse on the end of the fan control module had broken, so i bridged it with a bit of wire and this made the fan be permanently on. the strange thing is that before this when the fuse was broken the fan worked fine and turned on when in traffic and turned off when cooled down. so if the system works fine with the fuse broken what does it do? somethings not right if it all works ok without the fuse and wrong with it :cuckoo:
  8. if you want a cooler inlet manifold see if you can get a phelonic (sp?) insulator gasket. i have one on my golf 16v and there is a big difference to how hot the inlet gets now
  9. take them to your local bosch service centre. i had my g60 injectors cleaned for £12.50 each :D much better than 60-70 each for new ones lol
  10. cheers dave i fitted the kit today, its a real nice bit of machining 8) regarding screwing into the pin, i used one of the screws from the lower dash to good effect, as its tapered at the end it bites really well. the ones suppled werent that much help to be honest

  12. cheers. ive just ordered those bits as i can use them on the old mans tt as well as the corrado and at £15 its a steal. but if i get nowhere with it expect a pm! :lol:

    hey, i have had a search but can only find info about how to access the setup menu, but what are all the values for? 1st ? (reads C10) 2nd boost value 3rd rpm 4th ? 5th ? 6th ? 7th ? any filling of ?'s would be much appreciated!

  17. hi, does anyone have the 2x2 for a 92 g60 in the guildford area? my abs light comes on when i hit 60mph. im pretty sure its one of the wheel sensors but would rather know which one to replace than going through them one by one :cuckoo: i dont mind a bit of a drive! cheers mark

  19. if your last car was na it will feel a bit more sluggish tbh depends what revs your at as well, i find i have to change gear a lot more in my g60 than in my golf 16v because the g60 hates being under 2k in 3rd and 4th. remember without the charger its only a shitty 8v!

  21. im not sure if im gonna lower it tbh, ive been driving a polybushed car with colovers for a while and this is a very nice change :lol: if a set of koni/eibachs comes up at the right price i might be tempted. ive caught the spoiler a few times as it is!

    my g60

    i picked this up last week! apart from the injector failing on me (see engine section) after 4 days driving it its a great car! coming from a mk2 golf its still got the same feel about it, not quite as fun but more refined and i think a little bit better built. the gearbox and clutch are a very nice change! effortless compared to slamming it into gear :lol: so far i have had the charger serviced, changed the cambelt, flushed the water, changed the cam and crank puley seals and the bolt in the crank pulley, plugs, lead,, cap and rotor also done. jobs still to do include polishing the other side (i hate that job :grin: ), changing the water temp gauge in the dash and that resistor on the fan so i can use all speeds, put the stereo from the golf in it and the abs light comes on when i hit 60 so that needs investigating. im well pleased with it though, its a great car for the money!
